I am on Atlantic and servers just came back up. It seems that they have continued where they had left off. I checked an old rune I had for a house that was fairly worn and sure enough that what it is now. I origianally thought it got refreshed but that was when they turned it off. So I guess they turned the timers back on where they left off and I guess that would be the same for the 90 day timer. (no reset) I don't see alot of Idoc I accually only saw one so the RtB and bugged houses are not condemed as of yet.

Return to Brit houses can't be done the same way. They were placed when the accounts were already, officially, switched off, so the accounts system has no way of tracking them. They will have to be removed manually, which means finding them and documenting their locations so that that can be done.
How can you tell that they are RtB houses if the account is off but the house is being used by someone else that is just friended?

Give it until server up when the script runs to mark new houses. Likely they just turned on the decay code today and the 'new' house marking won't happen until server up on the 18th.
Better get back to filling up all my extra houses on GL with crap so that TwoBurnt can waste time sorting through it. la...

I think housing it jacked ATM... Sorry there are hundreds of houses that should not be up right now. Tons of them are blocking good house placement for actual people that play the game.
Something needs to be done with the return to brit houses ASAP. & Ya housing is def not on for Legends...

I agree, the Developers need to come up with a way to purge RTB houses. there's really no excuse. players should not have to waste playing time waiting around for GMs to come clear bugged houses.
They had the perfect opportunity to fix housing with the account migration and decay turned off and decided to blow it. Congrats to everyone who gambled that they were inept and xferred and place houses during return to brit and the migration. :/
The coding for getting rid of ALL bugged houses would be very very easy to do....even on an olde zx speccy!!! ...just dont think the devs want to see 20-30 houses max!!!! on some shards...and half empty lands on the busiest of shards.....and thats the bottom line methinks!!!

RTB houses have a name on them. You are thinking of no name houses perhaps..the ones the dev's delete manually. Unless those are old RTB houses? but new RTB houses have owner names

I have 15+ RTB houses and all of them have house owners listed on the sign. They look no different than any other house.
I don't think you people realize just how dead UO is about to become. I mean dead dead.

decay isnt working yet on most servers, atleast the ones ive been on. i have storage houses on 6 different shards. i terminated the accounts back in August "when ever they stopped idocs" so all those houses should be in stages of decay. i bet we see nothing till server up in the am. =(

I think it will take a few hours synchronization or even after the NEXT server up 18th of January the decay status will be finished and implemented - thats my guess...so no IDOC's on Pacific before Monday i think..

As far as I can tell there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY of knowing if they were placed during RtB unless you KNOW they did it.

They turned the timers back on. If you have runes to houses that were condemmed and saved them then you are in luck. None of the RtB houses are decaying. But I did see a OSI house that was decaying like before. Maybe they will atleast make those OSI houses drop. OK UPDATE. I might of been wrong.I just found 7 houses on Atlantic in less than 10 mins that are condemmed. YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAA here we go!!!!
Going to be crazy on GL when these all drop same day...found like 10 also in 15 mins...might give some of us honest idocers a chance at some loot or plots!
I'm excited about the prospect of being able to IDOC again myself, but I imagine alot of the houses will be saved by their owners in the next couple of days.
You can't find an 18x18 on GL now? You must be a poor scout.
I've placed a dozen 18x18's on GL and pass spots every day. There is no shortage of housing on GL. It will be way way more open now. No neighbors even. It will be like Sonona. Go walk around Sonoma once - wasteland once you get 2 screens from Luna.
Everybodies buy up boxed versions of UO and get a free castles. keeps or 18x18s for life for only $10 during the next RTB.
Who said im looking for 18x18..plenty of em, a keep would be nice

Wow, two full runebooks in about forty five minutes and that does not include really small houses because I did not mark them. Here is to hoping alot of these refresh, I hate to think all these folks are gone. Hopefully they were just waiting on decay to start before paying.
Even if what I said above is not the case, UO will not become any deader just because the houses of people who are already not around collapses.
True. The spots left open will just give current, new, and returning players better options for house placement. I see it as a good thing.
No. UO may not actually BE any deader but it's most certainly going to now LOOK as dead as it really is.

I can see that if folks judge how active UO is by the housing they see. I have always been one to judge by how many people I see in my travels tho. Guess it depends on your perspective.
I guess I'm trying to stay optimistic, hoping it's not going to be as drastic as many expect. Looks like we'll find out soon, either way.

I'd rather have acres of empty land than land filled by players who haven't played this game for years. UO isn't going to be any less active with the loss of dozens of houses that have been unoccupied for way too long. Removing houses that have been untouched for years wont change anything other than opening more possibilities for the truly active community. The illusion of an active community is pointless when real active and future players can make better uses of those spots.

I agree! Plus it will help improve lag in areas with houses AND will let me do IDOCS

Yeah, I found that a bit interesting too. Hopefully the maintenance wont break it for those who are waiting until the last minute.
I do agree that there should be a way to own multiple houses though without having to pay for multiple accounts. Or at the very least provide more options, such as combining plots if you have space next to you to do so.
Well just buy some unused UO boxes, and next RTB you get free castles and keeps for life for only ~$10.

I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the Idocs and there are alot. But I do not feel even close to ashamed picking up free stuff laying on the ground.
