How do I give money to town treasury?

How do I give money to the town treasury?
There doesn't seem to be a "donate gold" option, and carrying actual gold coins would take 40 trips to drop off two million now that we don't have checks?

There's a Donate Gold when you click on the City Herald that stands next to the city stone. Make sure you're donating to the right NPC. The one at the Docks is just for getting loyalty.
