Ok I'm pretty new to the em event scene, which is of my own choosing. But mainly due to lack of playing time (work/family), so just a quick question. Does the em event item have to be taken off the boss that drops it, or does it just appear in your back pack?
I hope this thread does not get locked due to some heated discussions, which will happen with differant points of view. I will say that being the novice that I am I have learned some things about the chances of acquiring an event item, such as healing other players etc. This will make it easier to attend some other the shard events with out having to have an uhber set up.
Since I am one of those lost souls that collects rares (very limited), event items have become a means to trade or sell with other collectors in the game. I see nothing wronge with that, as this becomes another form of game play. For the new players they could also benifit from learning these techniques, as stated from some of the veteran players who have graciously posted thier insight.
I think really the best part of the fun for me was the sheer quantity of players attending the event for what ever reasons they may have. To me that brought back glimpses of UO during its more popular times. If we could some how create this excitement and lure the old/new player base back to the game that would be awesome.
As far as the debate on how em event should be handled i'm reminded a phrase that keeps coming to mind BE CAREFULL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! To many times we have over the course of UO asked for changes and things have worked out for the worse, I'm not saying this will be the case. I'm not going to start name calling here,it's frankly not my nature and this is a game to fill in the small voids of free time that I may have.
That being said I would rather have the system we have now, and lets try and have the UO team create new content, fix bugs, and get a larger player base.
