I have been considering the issues concerning the current story arc and am thinking that many appear to be due to lack of forward thinking.

We were told that we needed to develop loyalty for just one town and that it could be gained by arresting rioters, putting out fires and clearing rubbish.

What we were NOT told was how long this would go on, what each action is worth, how we were progressing in loyalty and we were not told that loyalty WOULD DECAY. Was this because if we had been told the whole thing would have never got off the ground?.

Was it not considered that if we used a crafter or mule the decay would be made worse by enforced periods of inaction when raiders are present in the chosen town?. The raiders are far too tough, fast and numerous for my crafter. So on those days that raiders are there he loses loyalty. I have no complaint about the raiders, thats part of the event, but the decay is unnecessary.

Why is the decay required?. Surely as this event is intended to be over a period, a slow build up should be allowable?, especially for those of us who are not able to play for any length of time. Decay is also detrimental to players who can only play on certain days or times. Was this considered?.

What bothers me most is why all this secrecy, after all this aint the Manhattan Project, time and time again we are stuck with what is given to us, not what we would like, in fact quite often the reverse.

I'm afraid it all baffles me, time for bed.

I am afraid I'm inclined to agree with you. Figure at this point my enthusiasm for this event has declined to an all time low and while I had some time this weekend to regain Adored in all the cities I decided I didn't care to bother.

I'm already disgusted with the event and it's barely begun.

I suppose it wouldn't be so discouraging if the decay wasn't so blasted high and if all the work you did for it well seemed to mean something.

At this point it's like OK I busted my butt for hours and hours and for what? Nothing has changed and now a week later well... I'm back where I began almost...

Why is it that every live event has the same stuff said in the initial stages? Think back to ANY live event, and it's always.. this is boring.. this is tedious.. this is yadda yadda. Then by the end, things ramp up and everyone eventually shuts up on that front. Be glad when we once again hit that point in this one.

I still remember when friends were saying how bad Magincia was in the beginning..."I'm done...this takes a power gamer warrior type". Then by the end that same friend was saying how it was totally a thief stealther event.

I think you hit it. if Every event is complained about, then maybe there's something Wrong? maybe they should start further up the ramp to Stop the Complaints?

I can understand that point. Believe me, I wish things would ramp up faster. However, I am on ALOT of the time, so I can't expect everyone else who wants to build loyalty to be able to build it as fast as I can. Not to mention, even though the content has been active for a little while now, and advertised a good bit on the herald and here, I still run across people daily on Atl that don't have a clue anything is going on. Maybe they start the events out slow to give more folks a chance to "catch up" to the event even being around.

I have not seen any drop yet. Have not been able to catch raiders in any town today tho. Do these journals have the same fiction in them as the books that can be found in the raided towns? My first guess would be the journals are the same fiction only on the corpses instead of placed on counters and tables. Giving players a better heads up of them. *shrugs*

The one I found in the Trinsic bakery does in fact match one of the ones I found as loot.
Of course I only noticed this when I went to the bakery trying to see if I could turn in the book there to someone.

I think that if you read my post you will find I am not complaining about the event per se.

What I am asking is if enough consideration was given to certain aspects of its introduction and why the mechanics have to be shrouded in secrecy.

Most particularly the fact that we were not told that town loyalty was going to be subject to decay. If told this I would almost certainly have waited until I knew there was a good reason to do it.

The 3 actions done repetitively is mind-numbingly boring and by not giving us a visible tally of loyalty points/progresion of rankings they have deprived players of any sense of achievement, you cannot set yourselves targets and have a sense of purpose.

Not publishing what the different actions are worth and also introducing decay produces a definite feeling of I AM WASTING MY TIME.

Like everyone else I pay to play and I play for enjoyment. I do NOT pay to play something which has little fun in it and which subsequently leaves me disappointed. I see no reason why all the above could not have been considered before the start of the event. I also see no reason why tallies and rankings can not be shown. Why can't they?.

A deafening silence continues and until I hear something I will continue to yadda yadda with the best.
