Aye, I agree - PK's and PvP belongs to Siege! ...but:
1. PvP is Player versus Player fighting -> when one person doesn't fight back it's plain pk'ing
2. PK'ing is only fun (that moment) for one person, the other one is hindered to further take part in the game/event for some time (healers being killed).
I also made friends with PK's when I showed back up, leaving a distance to my corpse waiting for them being finished looting.
Killing that person again after she/he re-equipped the stuff from corpse is ress killing, that simple (spoils the fun).
3. Events are made for the community, not for individuals. 1/3 kills 2/3 like it was at the Siege Olympics - yes, it was ok for me, no crying.
Still I'd have preferred to be able to follow the games and take part in 'em at that point.
4. Thinking in a social dimension, we have conflicting interests.
A) Going berserk on everyone that doesn't wear your tag/color. Taking away one or all item to make money with it in its easiest way. What is that kind of behavior? Showing superiority over another player, that simple and taking joy from it.
[here I left the observing and made a personal judgement]
B) That other group, being socialized to an extent that they behave in a particular behavior part of socially desirable. Those like that events character,
the community feeling maybe and to some extend an item to take home to be reminded of it.
Group A can take all that easily away from group B, looking at their own interest only. Group B is no harm to A. Group B can easily exist without
Group A (nothing I'd be looking for), but not vice versa.
Again, PK'ing belongs to Siege to a certain amount, going over the top with some actions that either effects c)many d)influential players divided by
frequency of actions won't outlaw the action (at least on Siege interestingly) in general but rather the individual person [see Diablo e.g.].
Does it effect single players attitude for further events and taking part in them (on Siege)? Imo it does.
The common saying here is "if they can't take it they are not worth Siege". Is that so? As group B (you remember above?) you've grown used
to get killed or at best fight back and even kill back (PvP in its best way) but asking for respect for both sides interests, killing in the end, is too much asking
and close to socialized real world? ...What are the rules of the game?
Spoiling the fun for some by few by harassing/bullying? We got factions, seems not to be enough.
Get PvP organized, surely EM Aurora is holding a tourney in the future. Be assured that fighting there is much more honored than killing the running.
Communities can just live with respect to each other otherwise there will always be social strife. I don't want Siege to be labeled "Paradise for antisocial
behavior", it's just a game, I know - still it's interesting that sometimes real life fares better with interest conflicts than it's done on this server.
For future events: Play respectful, otherwise in the end it's no more than stealing a baby's toy and be proud of it.

With great power comes great responsibility"!
Someone wrote down the final results? I saw bow shooting in colour: gold for White Knights, silver, bronze?
The other ones were mostly black&grey

...the boat race was won by Black Knights - who cheated imo

, second by Red Knights aka

and third place White Knights; still I doubt those results
Thanks to the PvP/PK people playing fair and to EM Aurora never losing her faith...guess we are all winners
