Nice ranting. I will tell you two things:

Gah you have to be sure they ONLY do the pads. They would've tried to convince you to change the rotors, but unless they are totally wrecked, don't replace them. One guy was saying he couldn't let me leave and drive the car legally, but I'm sure that was BS.

Depending on the state there are laws about brake spec's that can be violation and cause for a ticket for faulty equipment.
Not trying to step on any toes here but being an Auto Repair Business Owner and Operator we do have guidelines to follow. There are specific spec's for every car, truck, suv and more.
As far as holding your car hostage they can't legally do that. But they can put in writing that your vehicle is NOT safe to operate and have you sign that to cover their butt.
I did not listen to the video but I am sure they painted a very scary picture of your brake problems. Alot of shops do that. Especially National Chain's. They have corporate overhead and 100 guys breathing down their necks to make $500 to a thousand dollars per car.
Unfortunately the Indapendant's like myself cant offer the NATIONWIDE warranty. But what we do offer is more peace of mind. Not saying that there isn't some greedy small business owners out there.

The handling and the braking seemed MUCHO better today. Less vibration coming down hills etc. The brakes do squeal, but I have been told that is normal correct? My front ones did for a few months and eventually quieted.
Overall though, I should be good for AWHILE.

Yes your doing everything right.
Your brakes May squeek due to the type of brake pad used. There are several kinds. Elcheapo's AKA semi metalic. Which are mad from ding ding ding you guessed it metal. Those tend to squeek. Then there is a mid grade Semi metalic. Also can squeek but these dont have quite as much metal. And last Ceramic. These are what comes on MOST cars now. These only squeek if there is a problem with the breaking system. Either a worn pad or bad rotor. The biggest plus to these is that they reduce fricton which makes your rotors last longer, thy don't throw off as much brake dust, and they last almost twice as long depending on braking habits. The easiest way to tell what kind of pads you got installed is by the price. Ceramic pads tend to cost closer to $150 installed just for the pads in most of your nationsal chaines. The other way is to look at your wheels or ubcaps adn see how dirty they are. Most people tend to notice having to wash their wheels more often after cheap pads.
I can make one recomendation to you. With your oil change a Synthetic BLEND oil change will increase the life of your engine as well as fuel economy. However you still have to change it every 3000 miles. It is a little more expensive too. Or you can purchase some LUCAS oil treatment and ask your service provider to use the LUCAS oil treatment in place of 1 quart of oul. This stuff rocks.
I also use LUCAS fuel treatment in all my cars, and trucks.

Those houses in Middleburg seems to be right on the road. Or does it just look that way.
I still tried to keep both hands on the wheel with the camera on the top of the steering wheel. I was thinking if I was in an accident, the video footage would have shown that I was being an irresponsible driver! It probably would have puzzled the cops and wouldn't have held up well in court..
Yup, they are right on the road. Some don't even have a sidewalk in front, but most do. Actually where I work is directly off the main route. We have a fence though separating. It's pretty ghetto and accidents always seem to occur right outside.
Haha I never noticed that, but yeah you are right. We don't mess around, double reinforcement the first time saves trouble later! It really could have had something to do with the steelworkers union. I know in Massachusetts they have some crazy laws. We aren't allowed to install certain vents in houses before we ship them, due to a union law that says they have to do it once the house arrives in MA. Again, that's ghetto!

I feel a bit blah about ChaCha lately. I didn't make my queries last week and haven't been motivated enough to answer anything this week since I went down to 10 cents.

ChaCha is horrible, I have been on for about 2 1/2 hours and didn't get one single query. You gotta keep up on the forums though, I witnessed a catfight tonight between this chick who was getting questions and the other who wasn't! It was so funny watching them fight. Good times..
Lucy is on the "Sleep all day, eat, poop, jump on on people, sleep some more, eat, and then poop and then I'll go to bed" plan. It's the life, what I wouldn't give to be a dog!
And an addition to something I mentioned in my log. Today my boss approached me about the 3 vacation days that I need to take by next week or I'll lose them. She is verifying with accounting, but most likely I will have Thursday/Friday off this week and possibly Monday or another day. So that rocks. It beats getting layed off!
UPDATE: Get this! I get an automated phone call from Hollywood Casino telling me that some people have received an incorrect mailer with the action credit slot amounts being more than they should be. Well that's probably me! BUT They will offer the Epic Buffet coupons tomorrow-Thursday only. So that must have been a Boo Boo, so I'm definitely going to take advantage of that mistake. I knew that offer seemed a little too good to be true!

So we went to Hollywood tonight. Wow, people were all over the free stuff!
The line for the buffet was at least 250 people and it wrapped all over the place. The woman ahead of us said they actually ran out of food last night and turned people away. We would have waited in that line for hours, probably would have made it by now, but at least a 3 hour wait. So my parents stayed in it and I told them I'd go use my slot credits and make us enough to buy dinner elsewhere. I took the $100 in play and turned it into $68 in Real Life Money. It was enough to buy dinner, so I cashed out and went down to the road to the Old Country Buffet and got dinner for $30! With the price of gas, I'm still $18 to the good.. Plus it has been confirmed that on Monday they will be adding in another $100 in play. Rumors are that they will have to honor the entire offer, but it's at least another $100 next week. I was like a little kid in a candy store cashing out everytime I won something. Fun times!

Sara was getting worried about Lucy.
Lucy has been BANISHED to the hallway at night! My parents couldn't take sleeping with the beast anymore. So now it's like alcatraz in our hallway. My room has a baby gate across it as do they. The other doors all close. Then she chills in the spacious hallway overnight. It's still pretty swank, if I was a dog! If a robber ever tries to take down the place, they got plenty of baby gates and a great dane to tend to first. Who needs ADT anyway!

Poor Lucy. I'm surprised she doesn't just jump over the baby gates though or is she just too nice to do that?
OMG She is afraid of them. We had folding chairs turned sideways to keep her in the living room. Her legs stood taller than the chair, but she was afraid of the chair! My parents actually put a folding chair in the bed to keep her out of it. They thought sleeping with a metal chair was more comfortable than having her there..haha She isn't the smartest tool in the shed..
