Hail fellow Dragon Cave fans!

After a heads-up over on U Hall, I've become aware that our egg/hatchling/dragon icons may well be causing some loading difficulties for some folks.

I thought it might be more considerate of our fellow Stratics community if we were to confine our Dragon Cave icon displays to this one thread.

Rather than displaying my eggs/hatchlings in my signature area (limited to 255 chars so only two fit there) I've chosen instead to retain my usual signature and simply copy & paste the code(s) into the body of a post here in this thread.

This compromise has several benefits. As well as ensuring we are not inadvertently slowing anyone elses' page loading, it not only brings us all together, but it also allows us a central venue in which we can nurture each others eggs & hatchlings, too.

All are welcome - Whether you are clucking over your own eggs & hatchlings, or proudly showing off your newest adult dragons, or simply curious as to what all the fuss is about. No taming skill required!

flutter, my dragons average 3 days but the unique hits to views is about 50% more on views, if you get a ton more views than unique hits your hatchinggs and eggs die, it looks to be about 10X views with 10% unique hits

Hey Uthar, welcome, and thanks for sharing your eggs with us.

I find the tinyurl links don't work here for some reason. If I copy & paste the code in the box headed "BBCode (for forum signatures)" the eggs and critters show up nicely.

Didn't stop me from clicking'em though!

All right, Reymar, now yer cookin' with diesel!

To get the little critters to show as an icon here on the page, you go to your scroll, and all your eggs/hatchlings/adults will be displayed there.

Choose the "Get Code" option for one critter and another page will come up from which you can highlight & copy the text.

For Stratics posts in this thread, use the one marked BBCode (it's the third one/second to last box) and paste that gobbledygook into a post in this thread.

Do that for each of the critters you wish to display.

For ease, I simply keep all the codes on a word document and can edit freely and copy what I like to this thread.

Remember, too, Stratics signatures permit a max of 255 chars so you are limited to displaying just two icons there.

We've had a kind heads-up that dragoncave icons can cause loading delays for others. I can especially believe this at the top of every hour when thousands are refreshing the cave page looking for eggs. It's for this reason I set up a specific Dragon Cave thread here. This way anyone coming to this thread will know (or quickly discover) there may very well be some loading delays.

Considerate posters will make use of their signature space (Stratics users have the option to ignore signatures if they wish) and will limit themselves to displaying dragoncave icons in the body of their posts in <u>this</u> thread only.

@ Uthar, it doesn't matter if you log in often (except for clicking everyone's eggs!), what matters is that others see your eggs and click them. If they are here to be clicked, they'll be clicked by at least me!

In addition to the amount of hits/unique hits/clicks, I understand that each egg has a randomly set, pre-determined time period before it's going to crack/hatch/grow to adulthood.

You're doing just fine, honest. My eggs have taken as much as 4-5 days to crack open. And yes, I've lost some, too, both at egg and hatchling stages. It's just as possible to have too many hits/unique hits/clicks as it is to have too few. I think of it as the Dragon Cave's RNG...
