Does stealth work differently on Siege than prodo?

On prodo I have a 120 stealth character who wears studded armor and bone helm, never fails to stealth.

I put together a scout type character who is 120 stealth after items and fail to stealth if I have bone helm on, but when i take it off i never fail.

I know the 75 with med armor, I'm asking is there a difference with bone armor and stealth success chance? I don't understand why I'm failing.

You say Ravens reveal?

Ravens are terrible. I hate them. To be honest I have never ran with bone armor. Even when I go 120 stealth I run leather..

I checked my prodo shard and I did not in fact wear bone. I changed it out a while back.

Nevermind.....

There is a reason Pkers dislike stealthers here.

I mean, we had to invest some skill points into our invisibility defense - so there's no reason why you shouldn't have to invest some skill points into something that will make us visible to you.... You're bent on killing us and we're determined to make that not happen. I reckon it just comes down to how you want to use your 720 real skill points, and how I choose to use mine - now doesn't it?

Not to mention that some of these stealthing type templates that allow us to stay alive, also include the indignity of occasionally appearing as low, slow, (grey of course), long-haired freekin' dustballs.... We pay a high price for our freedom to choose our fav playstyles... So, I can't appreciate your whining about how hard we are to deal with. Invest in some simple magery for cripe's sake and the world will be your oyster...

Oh, did I mention detect hidden? But then - you'd have to drop which part of your kill-only template? hehehehehe

If detect hidden was fixed, there'd be no problem with stealth. You all and your politics is precisely why playing this shard is a 20 player affair where everyone interacts via chats.

And 1 plus 1 equals rhubarb. Makes as much sense...

Well, I've been told you can't squat on a turtle and get rhubarb pie....

No, but if it's a snapping turtle you could get a nice big strawberry.....

Our politics....? *scratches head* :confused2:
Yep. There is a group of people who enjoy the power they have. Don't care about 'fair' play or understand how things work, yet spend enough time here lobbying for the preservation of 'the status quo' while complaining that 'the status quo' isn't good enough.

For example: stealthers don't like the idea of changing things so that stealth can be properly countered. They complain that the shard feels empty. Those who don't want to deal with the brokeness, got fed up and left. The shard is basically in a slow spiral of attrition and riddled with irony (hidden players complaining about an empty feeling shard).

The community interacts primarily on 3 levels.
1. Forums
2. Global chat
3. personalized chat (vent/mumble/etc.)

And we want to increase in game interaction?! hah

A second example is people complaining about faction items and how it ruined things b/c the best people are way overpowered and they can't compete. It's always been that way, long before faction items. Except they didn't even have access to it (at the current cost of statloss). The best of the best always have been overpowered. The problem is mainly, people got a taste for an elevated lifestyle and the high ruined them for good.

This community can't come together to do what's best for the shard. There's too many self-serving interests that get in the way. Years ago, when I lobbied the top PvPers to give up their item advantage for a fair system by asking for increased loot for all. The effort was ruined by people who it would have benefited the MOST because they couldn't get their demand to ask the devs to remove faction arties for good. Selfishness got in the way of boosting loot (and competitiveness for all).

So, you see... it's completely politics.

Just like the numbnuts whos mocking the idea that detect hidden is broken (because a lot of good it does investing 200 skill points into tracking/detect if once you detect someone, they can instantly rehide while you wait for 10 seconds to try and detect again... just enough time for their timer to reset and rehide once detected... and round and round the stupid feature goes.)

This is never going to get better or change unless the developers make the correct changes without any sort of consent/input. And good luck with that.

If you weren't stupid, you'd ask for an explanation rather than trying to start ****. Make sense? Probably not.
Naughty boy... that's how threads get locked... And I certainly won't stoop to your level by calling you the stupid one...

So, just for the sake of argument, what exactly would you like to see done with stealth and how would you "balance things out" ?

I did the cycle "being revealed/re-hide" so many times at the last idoc. It's just ridiculous. We shouldn't be able to re-hide exactly at the same spot we were discovered.

I would like to see stealthers who move close to someone to have a chance to being auto revealed if line in sight. If standing still, you would be ok, but if moving 1-2 tiles from a person, you should have 25 % chance for being auto revealed.

Also, I would like to see field spells and field potions auto reveal a hidden person, moving or not.

This way, as long you stay 3+ tiles away and no one know you are around, you will be safe unless you are unlucky and someone drop a fire field or an exp. potions at your feets.

I understand hiding at bank if you need to be safe for thieves, when moving stuff to or from your bank box or shopping from a vendor but moving around hidden in town do not make sense to me.

At the moment none of my chars do have stealth or hidden. I do have a stealth, ninja, poison fencer template on stones and love it, not only for the stealth part.
