I would like some discussion on what could be done with the collection I seem to have of "old school" junk jewelry, armor, etc, which has spell charges on it.
I estimate that I have several containers worth of this "old school" stuff which currently is useless to me, as either armor pieces have resists that are very crap resists which are less powerful than current newbie armor or the item has little or no remaining charges that don't work now.
I would like discussion and thoughts from posters here that might get EA/Mythic interested in revitalizing "old school" armor and making it worth spawning again either as loot for some kind of quest with a decent type of reward at the end or making it actually worth owning and using on a character template again.
One remote possibility they might want to try is to look at bringing "old school" items up to par with current magic items and the ranges of properties that can spawn on them.
At the moment the "old school" items are really only a collector's item, and can't even be unraveled for any kind of imbuing ingredient.
Perhaps with some new craftable, they could become a spawning item again, and be made into a unique kind of housing defense system whereby the owner of a house that has something with these items on or in it which could defend the owner from wandering monster attacks by simply repelling them from the immediate vicinity of the entrance(s) of the house. (NOTE: Should not defend owners from attack by players or their pets in Felucca, and should only work on monsters not engaging any player character which has no access if in Felucca. Perhaps it should be just a deco item in Felucca.)
It might even be possible to make an item that can replenish the charges of the armor if house defense systems were to be made possible.
