Agreed - while I don't want to see a bunch of porn any more than others, neither do I want to be subjected to the ravings of a fanatic.

Since you copied my words to somebody else I am taking this is to me really. HOW DARE YOU... you have known me and so has your wife since beta days.. how dare you call me a fanatic. Because I care about the youth and not allowing MINORS to produce any form of porn in CC? As an ADULT you should be more concern about that then to edit your grammar bye the way say hi to your wife and miss her in game

As I understand it, we will be asked to sign a new Terms of Service Agreement regarding custom content in EA-Land. Once that is in place, I'm sure all the regulations stipulated in the agreement will be enforced.

WARNING NOTICES ...... SHOULD AND ARE NECESSARY MEASURES THAT SHOULD ALWAYS BE INCORPORATED so no minor should be placed in any form of immoral situation or dangers.

[/ QUOTE ]

The warning notice is in the User Agreement, where all parents are warned to take full and complete responsibilty for the use of parental control features, and their children's participation in this game.

I do believe that you are screaming (typing in caps) at the wrong people, because no player, has anything to do with how parental controls are set up in the game, how children access the game (except their own), what warnings are posted and how Custom Content is to be vetted.

You need to stop pointlessly shouting the posters on these message boards and take your concerns to the only people who have any control over how the issues that concern you, are handled; EA Games or the Devs.

this is where we differ as an adult and a parent I do feel we all share a common responsibilty to ensure ANY AND ALL minors are never harmed in any form. As far as EA goes it is their responsiblity in some form, they are the company providing the platform allowing a minor to submit this type of action. Any adult who can put happily look the other way and declare its nothing to do with me amazes me.

that is fine Gracie but for now it is being allowed. So once again maybe EA should have helf off on this part of CC as already suggested

EA are not allowing porn to be uploaded into the game. They made a general request that people upload anything they want to check that the filtering system would work. It works, they disabled 47 images and prevented them from being released into the game.

They can see every image uploaded - they've put them all on a grid for us to see. click here to see the blog post and grid

I really for the life of me can't see what the big deal is here.

We have already signed the new User Agreement, it came before the Custom Content was put in the game.

We all signed the new agreement in order to continue downloading the game at the end of October.

Here is a link to a copy posted by Narsan.

Speaking as an adult and a parent, I hold no person other than myself responsible for my child's online/offline activities. I was "exposed to naughty porn" at around 10 years of age, and this was well before home computers and the internet. My parents didn't rely on the cashier at the grocery store selling the porn mags to control what I saw or how I was to handle it. So yeah, I can happily look the other way because it's not my responsibility to instill morals in other peoples children. Especially on the internet.

A set of boobs (of which I have yet to see in game, meaning EA must be preventing it) on a paint easel should really be the least of your worries.

by disabling does that just mean that they were refused? if so great, but again the issue of allowing minors to even attempt is not removed. so if this is the case my original post still stands. by saying Ea is not allowing it is fine but they are allowing minors to continue to submit these images.

I'd be more concerned with the minors that you say are attempting to upload the porn rather than EA attempting to filter it. Where is the mother and father of these children, why do they allow these kids to have porn in the first place?

Before any minor or adult can attempt to upload a naughty picture to TSO, they have to already have the picture. That is out of EA's control.

fail safe measures are never enough. that is proven by the failures in testing of uploads already.

There have been failures in the testing of uploads already? Are you saying images have made it into the game that should not have? Where have you seen or read this? Did you report it to EA?

Once again, I agree.
It is the responsibility of me and my wife to guide our children.

If there is one thing I resent more than any other - it is for someone else to try to impose their standards on me or my family. Or suggest that *I* am responsible for theirs.
For me, *protecting* a child from life is no protection at all. Kids need to learn for themselves - and when it comes to sex, they are gonna find out NO MATTER WHAT!
Because of that, I'd like my kids to know that I am not uptight about it and he/she can come to me for answers.
As far as 'porn' on TSO is concerned, my wife and I will handle it as we see best.
I expect other parents will do the same, without the need of coaching from strangers.

As far as those who see themselves as some sort Heaven sent 'Protectors of Children, all I can say is..... butt out, take care of your own and leave me to do the same.

Before any minor or adult can attempt to upload a naughty picture to TSO, they have to already have the picture. That is out of EA's control.

What is in EA's control is the fact they are requesting all player which includes minors to submit images and the words used in the request is naughty. Had they stated at the same time being this again is a 13+ game NO naughty images may be submitted would have been a whole different story. this way had they or anybody submitted a "naughty" pictures it would not have been EA requesting it.

I do agree with you here, but again my point is EA did ask for 'naughty' pictures and this is a 13+ game.

I guess that is why my grandchildren are not allowed to play this game given what goes on within the game with some.

your right to say that would be the least of my worries but again the point is EA is allowing and encouraging 'naughty' images to be submited by a minor. And if I had a minor looking at porn magazines in a store I would expect the cashier or any responsible adult to say something to them. But then I guess that is where we may differ again. I raised my children on values, and I was far from being prudish. My children learned the facts of life from me and my husband, not from books and other pers of their age. My children then and now still talk openly to me. So does my grandchildren, but I would not have wanted a game to encourage them to submit images of porn or 'naughty'. The only interactive internet game my daughter allows our 13 year old to play is one that is encouraged by the school, since its educational and certainly does not encourage a young mind to create porn/naughty things. And I gladly pay this for him every month.

Last time I bought one for my bf it was wrapped in plastic and it was above the reach of a normal youngin's arm span. I don't think that a Wal-Mart or the local 7-Eleven employee would ignore the fact that a 10-14 year old is visually raping some blonde virus bag whos printed in a mag designed for adults. *shrugs*

If the post had said "all minors run out and get as much porn as you can find and try to put it in as CC" then I could see your arguement a little bit. But it didnt say that, it said even the naughty stuff so we can test the approval process. What is "naughty" to one person is perfectly acceptable to someone else. Such is the world we live in.

I agree with the others, I refuse to be the babysitter of every underage player in the game. 90% of the time I have no idea how old someone is. Its the parents job to police their children not me. I dont contribute adult language or content to the game and its not my job to make sure no one else does. Luc and Pari are currently in charge of what is ok and what isnt, I have to trust their judgement. We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. For all we know a minor who submits adult content could get banned from the game. Lets remember they have full access to all acct info.

it don't need to say all one is more then enough. it does ask any tester to submit even naughty ones. Yes naughty is different in all eyes but you open a can of worms asking for this so yes again its EA's responsiblity not to hand out the can opener. As a caring human I stand up for any wrong when comes to our children. I am sorry I can't sit with blinders on or pretend it isn't there. you know I am not a prude in any form, and i enjoy fun in game as much as the next one but that don't mean I should sit idle and not voice my concern for minors like others. Anybody with children of their own should understand this. if you saw a bully bulling another child would you just walk away? or would you try to stop the injustice? well allowing a minor to submit any form of porn/naughty is NOT acceptable. and parizad did state like said earlier IF your going to submit porn don't make them ugly... what does that imply to a child? (instead of porn will not be acceptable and subject to being dealt with in so many words) again yes i understand as an adult where she was coming from in her sense of humor but not all children would understand that. And we don't know what we all do for a living and what we all see so don't be so quick to say its not any persons but the parents responsibity. And if Parizad is handling it that is great but again a warning of some kind should be sent to say EA will not tolerate images of porn and if a minor they will be dealt with. Again what a sad world when adults just turn the other cheek.

There really is NO argument here. The post clearly stated "even the naughty stuff" so they obviously wanted some users to upload inappropriate images as requested. NOBODY but those at EA who can truly monitor the images need to do so and/or even worry about doing the monitoring tasks. As Parizad even stated about not uploading the ugly ones, which was a joke LIGHTEN UP PEOPLE lol, She was obviously doing that monitoring.

Theres no need to get upset and demand those users be banned etc since they only did what was requested for the test. Most likely they would have never have done it otherwise.

Your right there is NO argument here.. the bottom line is THIS is a 13+ game and should NEVER have been asked to submit. It doesn't matter who is viewing the images, the point is they are encouraged to submit ( all players so that includes MINORS) I agree they were doing what was asked of them by EA representives, But I still feel they have a responsibility to clarify what is and is not acceptable. I agree that at this point there should not be terminations of accounts, but I feel some warning should be out there so as to prevent this action in the future, or I suggested this part of CC be held off until they change the rating of game if this is still EA's intention. Once again I feel EA representives should have set the standards in the request for what is and is not acceptable and not asked to bring on the naughty stuff. Again I agree Parizads remark about porn not being ugly was a joke, but it still sent out a messege to the young. Had this been a different rating game then there would be NO issue.

Once again, if you have a concern over this issue, please stop de-railing this thread and take it to the people in charge....EA Games or the devs.

Official moderator warning!

Please stay on topic of the upload test.....

This thread is not about child rearing, monitoring children on the internet, the inappropiateness or necessity of the Dev's request, what is 'naughty/porn' or censorship, it is about the effectiveness/problems of uploading Custom Content.

If you wish to continue to discuss these other subjects, start another thread, take it to PM or discuss the non-game issues in the How's Life forum.

Thank you.

Several times, when first joining a property that has several pics-on-a-stic, I have noticed huge lag that slowly goes away.
I wonder if this is a result of DLing the necessary files to our comps?

I noticed that when CC first appeared in TC3 several weeks ago and Parizad went to a few houses and marked her territory....I mean left a few "Parizad was here" signs around the city.

I've been having a great time making CC! It's all over my lot!

I got an in game message Friday evening that it would be turned off over the weekend, but that didn't seem to be the case when I was playing yesterday.

I have not attempted to make any CC yet. I am waiting untill the uploaded pictures can be placed in picture frame or used on the theater back drop and such. I have seen a lot of CC around the city and I have to admit the clearity of the pictures is A+.

Is custom content enabled? I can chose to upload my photo and everything. When I click the check mark I don't get a confirmation.
