My opinion is that although it's clean, I'd rather have a brittle version with high intensities on the properties.
Example: I'd prefer that piece be brittle and have 5 INT / 7HP / 10 Mana Increase because even though it's brittle the armor will last a very long time. It's worth having a maxed out brittle suit (let's call it 100% intensity) over a a weaker clean version (aka 80% intensity).
