Now that would be cool for my "Miss FTD" char since gardening is all she does

I'd settle for the functionality that we had before the patch back.. As in being able to have three lines visible...

Name
Reward
Guild Title

Not the 'pick one and only one' that we got stuck with.

Build on what you have Dev Team, don't take functionality away...

This would be cool. Perhaps they can add an option for a few titles like this. Bartender would be another good one to add. Perhaps you can borrow from NPC barkeep titles.

Title says it all :)
The problem is that there are no skills specifically tied into gardening per se, it's just planting and tending to seeds in plant bowls, no skill required for success.

It's because gardening was originally intended for all character types, no matter what their profession. I feel it should remain that way.

Perhaps a special gardening skill title could be obtained through the future design and implementation of a quest or champ spawn reward. But until then the most you could do is have your gardener be your alchemist and display that skill title, because they are the ones that make healing and curing plants of fungus or infestations possible, along with healing and strengthening your plant back to it's maximum hitpoints.

I'd love to be able to pick and choose between things like 'the Gardener' and 'the Librarian'!

Just curious - how many characters have you actively worked meditation or focus on? Same difference... yet they both have a title. At least with med, you have to cast something (but not really - there's a way to max it out without ever having cast a spell)... but focus? At least gardening requires some knowledge, and some interaction...

The trouble is, gardening isn't a trainable skill, nor would most of us want it to be, for that would mean giving up skill points in something else.

However, I think it would possibly be obtainable through some kind of quest in the same way as the 'slime hunter' title was acquired.

It might be fun, actually, to put our heads together on here and devise a possible quest. If it looked feasible and not too complicated to code, not impacting too many other areas, with the bug creating possibilities that can lead to. Maybe the devs will use it.

A counter for the number of plants grown seems a fair way, if that can be coded easily. I did wonder maybe the number of times you do the naturalist quests for the special seeds, but that's a bit misleading since a few folks do those on other characters and hand the seeds over to their gardener character.

And I'm having flashbacks to the Warhammer 'tome unlock' system for titles...:eyes:

I agree.

I didn't notice this in testing as I didn't have a guild or reward title on that server - I just went to check what the new professional titles were - but it means my scientist has to sacrifice his guild title, guild name, and guild tag to have both his profession and museum contributor title shown on his avatar.

Yes, I can have profession on the paperdoll but I really don't see an issue with at least having "Doc Brown the Tinker [BSC]" overhead. Having "Culinary Scientician, Britannian Society of Chefs" on a second line, and "Eminent Vesper Museum Contributor" on a third would be exactly how I had it before the change.

Maybe obtained by eating a seed from a plant that can only be obtained by cross-fertilising, if the plant only prouced one such seed?
Clearly it would be possible to produce and sell such seeds as well, but it's not unbalancing.

(Unless it becomes a title of choice in PvP.)

So how about making it a title that you can get if you 'plant' a seed of the Silver Sapling in a plant pot, or a straightforward mini-quest for a special plant pot that lets you do just that that... uses up the seed, and the pot, but gets you the title and nothing else?

^^This^^

then, I'd rather be able to stack paragon choclate ingredients and make cool choclate whatnots before requesting gardening tags. Gardening has totally rocked for us this past year or so.

...recipe for candy coated choclate whatnots to mana regen instantly to full only edible once every so many seconds.

They could just give us access to a list of titles in addition to the skill titles. Add in the Herald title list with gardening and some others to the list of choices for avatar titles.

I'd like to see a way to add player-made titles but there would be dips using it to add TOS voilation titles and those turn up to often using the guild title system.

Shoot, they'd get posts here removed.
