*Looks around room to make sure it is safe before entering... Moves to the table near the side exit and takes the seat with his back to the wall... Pulls out dusty personal log, quill, and small jar of ink filled with Mongbat blood and starts writing…*
Well. I have survived the night once again. It would appear that the Merchant has discovered the remains of her missing pet based on my recent experiences.
Earlier in the morning, I was able to channel my energies and tap into the thoughts of others in the realm. I have done this in the past on occasion and have almost gone mad with the voices in my head.
This time the conversation perked my interest. I was only able to recall a brief portion of the entire conversation, but than a few citizens were talking about killing Mongbats, as well as, something called a Greater Mongbat (no doubt a product from the Merchant herself). I was also able to pick-up the Merchant’s thoughts as she could be heard defending the foul creatures.
Rather than just let the conversations roll in and out of my mind, my unconscious mind betrayed me and transmitted my thought into the public view (most likely disgusted with recent memories and encounters with the winged rodents).
It was only four words that escaped, but those words seemed to strike a nerve in the Merchant’s very soul. Alas, it would appear that my death is worth a little more to her now.
I am sure most of the known murderers are aware of the bounty, but it is my guess that the small increase would not be enough to sway an upstanding citizen to break the law or at least not yet…
Even more disturbing, she seemed to rejoice in her Mongbats continued raids upon the general population (may Garfield rest in peace).
I must keep my wits about me and find a stronger Talisman to protect myself against this…. Greater Mongbat threat.
