Yea training been blacksmith/tinkering and it seems kinda odd... it's like throwing 2 sets of platemail leggings at the person. You'd thing it'd be for bashing people in the head for, but all you're doing is tripping their horse.
Then again UO is completely screwed up with crafting in terms of, realistically, how many resources an item would take.
