Time to start a new thread for 2010, and the weight to set our eyes on is from the whopper caught in 2009.

Here are my newest entries for 1-1-10

Starting off the year with a; 186 Stone Big Fish, 121 Stone Herring, and a 148 Stone Mud Puppy

I am going to fillet all but the largest in each catagory, or peraps turn in a few for some more goblin stuff.

Hope everyone has a great new year, and since it looks like 225 is the mark to set I am heading back to the underworld for a nice Herring World Record.

Congrats on your catches! Ya that a monster of a fish above, the owner is on Origin and he/she was one lucky cat to catch such a prize!

I caught my very first ever big fish last night: 78 stones on Origin. I know that's puny, but it's my first one! What a thrill! Got two more big fish last night as well, but they were even smaller. Also got 4 white pearls, two special fishing nets and a few delicate scales....enough to keep me motivated to finish training the skill this time, I guess. Can't wait to see what else my fisher/LJ/miner pulls up and I'm sure I'll be back here soon with more questions about fishing, pulling up chests, and tossing nets.

Went out to fish a bit before hitting some Honey Doo's and picked this beuty up in the underworld. Yes I normally just thorw the little ones on the bridge and use them to lure a few Goblins out so I can get a chance at a Golden Coin.

This monring I wrestled this beast out of the creek.

ITS ALMOST FISHING DERBY TIME YEEEEE HAAAW

With the proposed new updates and dates on the big fish I think we all need to get together and work out how to do a fishing derby.

250K entry fee and another 100 K per catagory.

One catagory for each fish type.

Weekly Winners. in each catagory and overall.

5% per catagory 15% overall

Monthly

25% per catagory 50% overall

Now

How it works is each week the largest in each catagory is calculated. If you fish wins week one and no one gets a bigger gish the following week you DON'T win again the pot just rolls over.


say 50 people enter and 15 in your catagory = 12.5 overall 1.5 mil catagory
week one you win catagory and overall 75,000 catagory + 1.875 mil overall

NO winners in either week 2, 3 or 4 sooo you win monthly catsagory and overall = 375000 + 6.25 mil

End of year will win 100% of whatever is left on the POT. every month is a new start so you can roll over month to month just weekly rolls for a month.

The idea is fantastic. I dont know about the month/year long totals.

But I think if you started a tournament and ran it for a week, Say Sunday 8pm to Sunday 8pm the following week.

Have semi-daily "weigh-ins" and allow people to drop off their biggest catch, to allow the organizers to update the standings for the tourny, it could be awesome.

I'd be a huge fan/participant in 1-week long tournies, where a specific fish is the "fish of the week", and only that species of catch matters at the weigh ins.

Just set up a 1mil or 5mil??? 10mil, whatever entry fee. And set up a 1-2-3rd place prize scale

1st gets -75%
2nd gets 20%
3rd gets 5%

Payouts at 8pm the Sunday the week long tourny expires.

Not to be a skeptic and rain on the sick parade that is a 250 stone fish...but any chance with the changes to fishing and the booster that weights changed too???

Only reason I ask is because in the existence of big fish, ive seen one 225 (posted on this forum), and nothing ever above it, or even close to it.

Thats not fair cuase a bit later I pulled a 157 pound fire fish. oh well

Also, the big fish all come tagged with the date they are caught. Will make fishing derbys that much easier to hold.
