I really don't understand this mentality at all... Most any other MMO out there takes that long to get just about anywhere, really. Whether it's porting between cities or travelling along automated paths like ships or flying transports, getting somewhere in a lot of games I've played can be quite a journey. (EVE anyone?) UO is one of the few games available that lets you instantly teleport to almost anywhere on the map, tile by tile.
Anticipation typically heightens the reward rather than cheapen or lessen it.
