Please use this thread to ask serious questions that you would like hopefully asked and answered at the Town Hall Meetup at the end of this month. Let's try to keep the general conversations to a minimum and ONLY post the questions that way those of use that are going can have a good list to go by.

1.) Why are things kept secret? Other games have public plans, why doesn't UO?

2.) What are your opinions on KR? Do you think it has been a success for your team? Are you going to work on KR at all in the future to make it better? Do you know why it crashes so frequently? Do you have someone working on that? If KR was a total failure, would it be too embarrassing for the company to say so?

3.) How can you justify, economically, maintaining two clients?

4.) I've noted that you are proclaiming this year as "Events 2008." This year seems to be rife with new bugs as well. Do you see correlation between the two? What are your feelings on why it is so difficult to release new content without new bugs?

5.) What percent of your decision making comes from Stratics? From your employer? From Ultima games? From what you think is best? From your supervisor?

6.) I feel that much of your programming is not very accommodating for human players. Take, for example, your system for getting and handing in tickets. Most items that are handed in are identical, yet they don't stack. Some items that do stack, can not be handed in in stacks (grobu fur). Received tickets do not stack. So , essentially, you must hand everything in twice. Would that be a fun game experience for you? Is it that your skills are lacking to make it easier, or do you honestly feel it is more fun to hand everything in twice? Maybe there is another answer I have not thought of. Why is it that you do not make simple, repetitive tasks easier?

1. When will you admit KR flopped, and go ahead and improve the 2d client, including bug fixes?

2. When will you a. Either admit SA isn't coming
b. Give some solid information on it beside "soon" and "later"

3. Reveal any kind of long range plan/plans for UO, regarding boxes on a shelf, recruiting new players, estimated longevity at this subscription level, etc.

4. Explain why you aren't dealing with scripters/dupers in a quicker and more publicly noticeable fashion.

1. Are there still plans for a new expansion (Stygian Abyss) or are we only getting periodic free content like the recent events?

2. Do the recent events have anything to do with the launch of SA and UO's future?

3. About how close is SA to completion?

4. When will you continue the KR specific updates to make the client easier to play?

5. With the inclusion of Punkbuster in Warhammer Online, are there any plans to attempt to bring it into UO (again)?

2. Along the same lines, when you release new monsters, events, ect, into the game, why are they not added to the any of your information bases?

3. When the KR client was created, it was to bring the graphics and such out of 1998, and into 2008. This was to be followed by the Stygian Abyss expansion. Sadly, the KR client has been rejected by the majority of the current player base. Thus, SA is now in no mans land. What are you going to do about this proabelm?

4. Why is it so complicated for players who have quit in the past, and later want to reactivatre an account that may be 5 or more years old?

1 and 2 have nothing to do with the dev team members, those are the Stratics admins/content editors/whatevers' problem.

I'm not sure if these are things that can really be answered at a Town Hall, but:

If Character Transfers are still down at the time of the meeting, then: 1) Why were the Character Transfer servers taken down and when can we expect them to return?

2) Has there been any internal discussion as to whether or not Stygian Abyss will/should support the 2D client?

3) Has the possibility of a "next-generation" Ultima Online game using an entirely new engine and today's technology been discussed?

4) Why does the page queue always jam up at "You are 7th in the queue" and never go any lower?

5) What plans does EA have to make Ultima Online less item-dependant? Why are so many new items being added to the game with pre-set mods (i.e. artifacts, etc.)?

Answer: Because Stratics members have not rushed to submit these items to Stratics for adding to the data, instead waiting for someone else to do it.

Remember, most of the info that is on Stratics, that isn't a link to a uo.com site, was SUBMITTED BY THE USERS. The lack of so much of the post-AoS information is a sign of apathy by the user base, not by EA.

You can fix that by finding something you think needs updating, collecting the data, writing an essay, if need be, and SUBMITTING it.

And before you ask, I've been doing my part - I'd just redone modern versions of the Miner and Smith FAQs on the profession forums, plus a bunch of other stuff that will be linked to the Stratics pages for the skill (plus my info was to be converted to new essays) - then the "Big Oops" occured, and most of the energy of the higher-ups has been concentrated on getting everything back up, before working on submissions of new and revised material.

It you see an area that needs work, go for it - that's where new content comes from, such as Great Pumpkinator's BOD tools, and the related Stratics web tools for the two BOD systems based on his and my data (well, that which we cribbed from the EA Support site, but we put it into a form the Stratics people could read and turn into code).

My question:

What is the current situation on changing Siege's RoT (Rate over Time) skill system? Are you working on a solution, or not working on it at this time? There have been polls, and the majority of Siege wants a universal change to RoT (increase the caps by 3x, decrease timers to finish daily RoT gains around an hour of gameplay). The Siege community would like a response on this.

#6 Will they think of making some type of prize for faction players that hold towns. this may make factions more active. i thought a good idea was to add defence chance for every guild that owns a town. cause when u take over a town u now have people that protect u. another idea was to make MI work against all tamed pets.

1) What step(s) is the EA/Mythic development team taking to reduce the amount of in-game cheating and exploit of game mechanics (if any at all)?

2) Can we have our ORE re-nonrandomized? because scripters always win and we (the players) always lose.

3) Is there any hope for an internal game security feature (server side) that will prevent/reduce the amount ingame cheating and exploit of game mechanics?

4) When will transfer service be available again?

1. Would it be possible to add 9th anniversary tokens to uogamecodes website so folks would be able to upgrade their accounts to shadow and crystal tiles, please? ML doesn't give us those tiles. Darn near impossible to find a disc/code for sale. Also, make it available via calling customer service. You're marketing folks are losing out on $$ for EA without this option!

2. Most of us have been clamoring for increased stable slots and jewelry boxes. Same goes for cocoa trees. Any time soon?

3. Need an update on status of burning houses and if they are going to idoc sometime in the near future.

4. What did Draconi learn in EA_Japan? Will there ever be bright coloring slimes coming to the US/Euro Shards?

8. What about gardening? I can't hold all the seeds I produce, would be nice to have something akin to BOD books for seeds, as well as for jewelry (jewelry boxes?)

2 - Are there any plans to turn the game in to a free to play, at a later stage, with a micro-transactions system?

3 - Are there any plans to create new dye tubs?

4 - Are there any plans to implement more peerless bosses?

Is there any plans to put UO boxes on shelves in shops? Or to advertize for new players?

Why cant we change our account names? This is a major security issue to somone whom has had their account hacked in the past. Somone out there knows my account name after hacking my account, i want it changed.

1) are there plans to continue balancing certain skills in PvP? for example, the evil omen + para gank has gone on long enough. if someone has 120 resist, they should not be able to be para'd like that. also, have you considered making certain specials (like disarm or dismount) perform their function but do less damage? in case nobody's noticed, a good heavy crossbow dismount (with full damage) followed by a nice conc is basically a 2 hit kill for many people. the point is, specials that paralize, disarm, dismount, etc should work well, but do little damage. :sword:

2) have you considered making fletcher BOD's instead of forcing fletchers to spend hours chopping trees and more hours sitting in heartwood chaining quests, never knowing if they will ever get a runic kit? at least the other primary crafters know that they will end up with something more than a pretty bag with useless loot (this from a pretty new fletcher - i've completed nearly 8k stones worth of quests and got only a vermin slayer tali out of it) :shots:

3) the servers are bogged down, no doubt. has there been any consideration that anything short of revamping the way loot drops will only leave the door open for the servers to get bogged down with worthless junk again? i guess my point is, nobody wants a bracelet with nothing on it but fc1, so why code it into the game? ugh... it just clogs us the system. :stretcher:

4) some templates have had it pretty rough over the past few years while others have been getting stroked like little kittens. archers, necro-mages, and tamers seem to abundant, while other very interesting templates like the treasure hunter and the thief have been all but forgotten. one of the things that made (and can make again) UO so much better than other games is the diversity in the community. have you considered any solutions or ideas to really make playing thieves and t-hunters fun and profitable (for the many) again? :bdh:

5) let's face it... after over 6 years of watching, listening to, and being involved with this community (under many different identities), the simple fact is that people cheat and hack in UO.... alot. a whole lot. i've noticed that some of the ... err... "features" in Kingdom Reborn attempt to simulate (to a very small degree) some of the processes people have formerly accomplished with illegal 3rd party programs. assuming KR continues, i have a couple of questions about this: A) do you believe you have added enough "features" to KR to make up for what 2D players will be missing without their hacks and scripts? and, B) have you considered the possibility that many 2D players don't want to move over to KR because "scripting", for them, is a big part of THEIR game-play experience? (there are just as many that have left the game because a particular exploit or script stopped working as there are that have left because the exploits weren't getting fixed) - the point is, have you thought about adding some "features" that will make the script junkies "feel" like they are doing something wrong and be happy? :sad3: :grouphug:

What's the deal with the way pets now check line-of-sight of the tamer to the target before attacking it, and are you considering improving the pet performance under these circumstances or removing this line of sight check so it works like before? The image shown below demonstrates the error, and the pet showing the frustrating "That cannot be seen" error message.

2) will they ever implent a 'friend's list'?...so people can contact their friends when they are not on the same screen and/or party.

3) Will GM's ever react in time when people report bug exploiters?

i can't imagen your so called pvp l33tn3ss chars tanking Melissa.
One thing i learned , is that EA never undo's things.

Are you considering adding criminal/aggressor flags relative to players who use barding-related skills on other players' pets (discord in particular)?

Jeremy and Leurocian talked about looking into upgrading treasurehunting a while back. Now, it remains quiet.

1.) What has been discussed so far? Only a loot upgrade, or any serious additions?

2.) Do we, treasurehunters, get a say in it? We asked for a feedback thread with a dev when we still had the old forums, but it never happened. Use our extensive experience!

3.) Will you strive to make certain maps guild-worthy again? Mini peerless, special bosses, there's loads that can be done.

4.) Any plans for t-hunting powerscrolls?

5.) Should I toss my 1400 level 4, 5 and 6 maps into Yonn's backpack?
