Archery question

Hey guys, i have a stupid question, but maybe you can help me..
i am training archery and i saw its REALLY expensive to buy the arrows and bolts from npcs, i am spending like 10 to 12k for 500 arrows to use, and i run out of them in like half an hour.. so i will be broke soon if i decide to keep training this way..
what can i do? i know i can kill birds, gather wood and make them myself, or gather them killing some monsters.. but i would like to ask to you for the best and cheaper way, and not so time consuming.

well.. for starters.. most player run vendors sell arrows at 8gp each and bolts for 10gp each.

if your using arrows, you can get them from killing ratmen archers.
they have anywhere from 35 to 50 arrows on them.

archery is very expensive skill to train up.. lol
wish they made more lower ammo cost armor.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet. There is the centaur camp out of Honesty gate. If you don't like that idea, you can take 200 arrows if you have a great bow and maybe twice as many if you have a not so great bow and goto spirituality. Work the spawn until the centaurs appear inside Twisted Weald.

Basically any time I do this when I am collecting arrows.

1. It does not cost any money. Just a few initial arrows in your possession already.

2. Once the centaurs appear just collect the arrows, then leave...recall to a bank, drop them off...rinse and repeat.

3. With an everage bow you can collect about 5000 arrows or more a hour. Great bow will give you more exponentially.

In reality, neither is far. You can bring a packhorse and load up on them. Just my 2 cents. Archery is overrated in it's "difficulty." Do it that way, either method and you won't have any trouble if your archer is average or better in skill.

go to ish and go to were the centaurs are kill them collect about 80 arrows each plus about 300 gold and 1 gem not to mention 8 hides each in a hour you can have several thousand arrows and a decent amount of gold and hides just take a beetle with you thats your best bet and if you want bolts sell the arrows and buy bolts with the money! *Warning*

If your below GM archery, be very careful. Centaurs do shoot back! If you go alone you'll want good armor and a fast bow. I like a magical shirt bow with good HML so I can spam lightning strike. It's harder with a slow bow, I've tried.

Centaurs are also a great monster to train on as you gain arrows. I like to bring a blue beetle and load it up with arrows and gold.

If you put a few quivers on your beetle, you can carry even more arrows because of the weight reduction.

If you load your beetle up with powder of translocation & a few bags of sending you can send gold and arrows straight to your bank.

ah good to know, i just started the toon, thought it was easier mobs, i can move to the other archer type monster, where can i find them?

I'm not trying to discourage you, just be careful. This area is very good to train in because the Centaurs won't attack you unless you attack them first. You won't be swarmed and overwhelmed, but they do hit well and you need to be prepared.

Ah okay, good point. Yes you should do the Ratman archer's. You can find them outside of Ish through the Compassion gate. Just go down a little ways and in an opening. Use that area as your "base." The centaurs you should not fight till you got a good grasp of your avatar since they are considerably more difficult then the ratmen.

The Centaurs in Ilshenar are by far the best way to gather arrows. They drop 80+ arrows each, which is 20 more than any other creature. It's in a "safe" area, so you can park a beetle or packy there for long term farming. You get the arrows, plus gold, plus gems, plus 12 spined leather from every single one which can be sold for gold to buy even more arrows or bolts from player vendors.
