Succubus - one last concern, can you legally block critters now a days
Mesanna - no you can not

It not when blocking with engery fields. Still? Where is that fine line? As pointed out when you see something you feel is wrong page, that is what I should have done during this and if I see anything even close to this in game I will be paging that Game Master.

Since I was there fighting, I saw what was going on. The picture might be a little misleading. Hi5 wasn't blocking the monster in. The fields were blocking us out. Is this semantics? Maybe? In my opinion this is totally legal. Thoughts?

I knew blocking monsters with lockdowns, bagballs etc. was illegal but I never knew that using fields to block monsters was considered illegal. If that is the case then maybe the spell should simply be taken out of UO. But I really think that you're misinterpreting what is considered illegal blocking.

I can see where both of you are coming from there, still I sure wish that Dumb Monster was a lot smarter it would have been fun to loot one of them like they did Kimi, I did get a few PS from one of them when it killed him. Still to me this was just short of crossing that "Thou shall not block the monsters" line. Oh well we all learn a lesson that day and got our butts spanked but good as well. But Karma is watching and it will catch up with them someday, till then HI5.

Using fields to block is not against the rules. What I would consider questionable is the attacking from the safety of the other side of the river.

Using energy fields are used everyday in the game to block players and monsters. That is exactly what the field is for, what else would you use it for? You guys are a bunch of tools. I can't believe players are on this shard for 2 weeks and we created such a crisis on this shard. If Mesanna wants to start banning people for lame reasons, please do we play other games too.

You know what would have been good there was a short leash on the monster, pulling it back to its lair, then they could not have did as they did. Being forced to fight where it was. That would have been fun to watch.

Or a pull the attackers to it or teleport to the attackers. Poorly planned critter all the way around :(

Under Your Bed
As far as I know, using energy fields to block players and or monsters is not illegal. Its part of their pre-designed feature. You have to cast them, and they only last X amount of time. They can also be countered by casting dispel field... It is much different than using bag balls or trapped boxes to block a dungeon exit, and/or block a monster in for the purpose of training or easy killing.

Regardless, please remember that publicly posting with the intent of accusing anyone of cheating, hacking, exploiting, or anything else is against stratics rules. Doesn't matter if its fact or fiction. Please try to keep the in-game drama in-game. If you see someone doing something you think is illegal page on them. The forums isn't the place to hash it all out.
Thank you =)

If I'm reading this picture right, the 'blocking' feature isn't the energy field, it's the river. Am I right in thinking the attackers were on the opposite bank? so the ettin had no clear path to them?

oh Ya, if it could have pulled them to it or jump over the river it would have been fair fight as it was all it could do was stand there. Any attemp by others to pull it away from the river was blocked by the fields or worse they were PK.

We've all done this and we all know it. A few days ago I bit off more Yamandon that I could chew, so I ran to the closest house and trapped his ignorant AI on the corner and then proceeded to arrow him up. I didn't feel the least bit bad for doing it either.

Every archer under the sun has used this kind of tactics. Be it across a river, stuck on a house, etc etc. Its a legal and very easily managed style of play.

Trapping monsters in your house, or using items to trap them in the wild is illegal. Using in game mechanics is strategy and tactics.

What I am so impressed with these incompetent players is the fact that they are literally at their breaking point and trying to make up rules that don't exist. Instead they should be thinking to themselves where this creature was taken was very tactical from a pvp standpoint and a Pvm. To the intelligent lady claiming her tailor wouldn't have done this, lol, considering HI5 was the only one that got the drop from this creature. Keep tailoring while we run the Hi5 shard.
