Nexus, you are always welcome into my Siege homes, as would be nearly everyone else whom I would know, or have known, for ages on Chesapeake.
In regards to your #3 I made my very first 5k gp on Siege back in 2004 selling cloth bolts to those whom often buy resources, especially off of the newer poor folks whom try Siege.
One would have to get on Siege forum here on Stratics if new to Siege, GET on the Siege Stratics forum, and in game chat so people DO know you are there, are new or newer, poorer yet, and hawk your sheep wool or whatever and when folks know someone is newer they will help and buy stuff off of you, because someone would be newer there, be it ingots or granite, or cloth bolts, leather from common cows even.
And since folks can not buy cloth etc. off of the NPC's on Siege, those whom do not wish to fool with resources gathering DO have to buy it off of others on Siege. If they are red, well the npcs get even crabbier at them, refusing to fool with a red person for even more things. Some of your first best customer base as a newer poorer immigrant to Siege, WILL BE REDS !
I also made 20k one day, in a few seconds when a red person, whom could NOT buy a ship off an NPC, trusted ME new there, gave me a check to buy HIM a ship on Siege. I did so for him, he was right beside me so in theory had I banked HIS check he coulda killed me lol, but I took his check TO buy him the ship in all his redhuedness, and he gave me a 20k tip just for helpin HIM out cuz the npc sure did not want to sell him a ship cuz he was *red* !
I didn't really know him hardly at all, I took a risk he coulda just pkd me when we met up, he also took a risk giving a newer player blue hued me whom he barely knew his big check for a ship to buy for him, but it worked out great, for us both !

TRUST is earned there, regardless of HUE. That is one of the best things one can EARN on a shard like Siege. More important than earning GP at first, ya begin all over again, as a simple new immigrant poorer, ya begin maybe just sellin cow hide leather to some one that may need it, via chat or the Siege forum, ya EARN your way, you earn your reputation, and in time, you find you are makin more gp on that shard cuz finally they know ya, trust ya, etc. etc.
Most of my chrs. play crafters, while so and so may pk me out there wherever, often times if they are needing whatever, ya find they do not pk ya in a * business transaction deal* if they need YOU atm like maybe giving them a RES. if your chr. can do that, it too becomes a way to *fit in* resing others that die, lots of death on Siege.

In the end it is/becomes more merely FRIENDS doing business together, no matter your colors, your play styles etc. on Siege.
-------------------------
If someone DOES kill your chr., say Hi !
If someone DOES steal from your backpack, say HI !
Those first earlier encounters may be and are precisely anyone's everyone's humbler beginnings anywhere on any shard, more so on Siege. That interaction repore is the same every where, to build a trust, or friendship, fun interactions, that build up over time; for yourself and others, on Siege Perilous. Then one day, one month or one year later, you find you fit in there, or belong on Siege, even more so, than ya ever thought, you would !
[Siege is NOT for everyone, nor is everyone cut out to stay or remain there.]
One of my dearest friends whom was from Chesapeake, did come to Siege to try, to survive there. He was a legendary tamer on Chesapeake. He began on Siege tryin to be a pvper. I told him:
YOU love being a tamer on Chessie, YOU ARE A TAMER, you should be one here on Siege, too.
Well he rethought that and began to do what he loved doing most in UO
...taming.
His experiences in UO were only Trammel.
There he was that one Siege morning, with his beautiful WWyrm in tow, riding his nightmare, when he was first attacked on Siege. HE DIED! Granted I giggled a lot sayin...You forgot to say...'FLUFFY ALL KILL'!
Ya had one pk attackin' you by surprise, but YOU had 2 fully trained up majestic pets that coulda fried him, in a nanno second... but ya got a surprise first attack sooo forgot to say FLUFFY ALL KILL !
Sadly, he never came back, he went back to trammel chessie briefly, then he got out of UO for good; to play Star Wars.
Anyhow, he just could not quite get used to *being attacked* or surprise attacked, he sort of [just crumbled instead of thinking] that he had mega pets to protect him. He was more used to using em to protect him from *monsters* never got used to the fact he could use em, against real players attacking him, even with mega tamed pets in tow, that 'could have' protected his chr. as a tamer template on Siege.
But he did give Siege the ol' college TRY and for that I give him, a true born trammelite, much credit.
For someone as myself whom has been pkd in UO since 1998, it just is no biggie to me, being *attacked* by other players in UO, for myself over the UO yrs of playing, being attacked by another player, has been, always was and still is a comic *social occasion.* lol
But yes Siege may not BE for everyone, but if ya feel you DO wish to give Siege a try, then DO so. You may find you DO enjoy playin there on Siege.
And IF you would BE the tamer templater type, do not forget to say, [should ya 'need' to say so:]
"Fluffy ALL KILL !"
