i know im supposed to honor things before i kill them as a sampire but do i have to work my honor up to like er knight of honor? or does it not actually do anything and i can just go and start trying to kill peerless bosses without actually grinding my honor up.

currently my honor virtue is at 0

You can yea, the honor virtue doesnt really do very much in combat[although i remember someone saying if you honor yourself you get a 10% damage boost, so this would mean you need first level]

Honour is mainly used for working keys at said peerless...especially if you need to kill one monster in a group. Honor give monster ignor, so you can walk through pick your target and drag it somewhere safer.

No perfection is achieved due to bushido and hitting the target, honor has no affect [as far as i know anyway]

No..perfection is achieved by honoring your target. You invoke honor onto your target and you will begin achieving perfection with every successful blow you land. Every successful hit will grant you a 10% damage bonus. You do not need to be any particular level of honor to get the perfection benefits. The higher your honor level, the longer your monster ignore will last.

You can apply monster ignore by invoking honor onto yourself.

To correct a statement made by A Rev. Honor is probably the most important part of any fight when utilizing the Sampire. It's the difference between life and death.

Bushido plays a role in perfection. The higher your bushido, the lower the "steps" are required to acquire perfection. At 120 bushido you will acquire perfection on your 10th consecutive hit, also known as a step.

To add to what Freelsy had to say, which is correct, both of the virtues Honor and Sacrifice are without a doubt the most important to a Sampire. Sacrifice allows you to rez fully dressed (except for blessed items) with everything that was on your corpse now being with you wherever it is you decided to rez. Add to that the monster ignore of Honor, which lasts for 5 minutes at knight level, and it can become a very simple recovery after a death, no matter where you are. Say you die on DH island. You go to the opposite side of the island from where DH is, rez yourself, then honor yourself so he won't attack you if he happens to wander down. This gives you 5 minutes to recast your spells, get your buffs back up, and wait for mana and HP's to regen so you can get back in the fight. It's well worth the time it takes to reach, then maintain both virtues.
