Another alchemy nerf? Sweet.

1: Alchemists cannot possibly carry enough potions to have a sustained offense for longer than a couple minutes in a fight.

[NOT TO MENTION,potions aren't autoattacks or spells, they have to be aimed at moving targets and miss anyone that isnt dumb or trapped.]

2: Potions that get a bonus from alchemy

1: Conflags.
2: Heal
3: Supernova
4: Agility
5: STrength

So what does that leave? A dozen potions that any template can use the same?

And now, to add to it all, a player with 50ep and 100alchemy, still has to burn like 5 potions before they can cure? Awesome.

Please bring back enticement in place of alchemy. Far more useful.

Why are we being forced into the same garbage classes every other game has? Did we not agree that being unique was good?

Alchemy still works and works pretty well. The cure potion thing is a bit stupid, you should have a better chance to cure considering you have skill points and a lot of time invested in knowing more about potions then the average person..aside from that everything is ok. Conflags still hit hard and got the majority of my kills last night. I havn't played in a bit, but even with no potions against a noxxer I got threw it. Of course I was called trash or something because I use my template and the dexxer got mad I can summon demons and drop poison fields and he can't. :( Point is aside from the cure potion thing everything with alchemy is doable. The potion weight increases just means you are dangerously close to being overloaded all the time and you can only bring about 40 explode potions along. Yah I know 40 explodes in a choke is about 10 seconds of throwing them, but at least you can carry a couple.

Because that way they have less things to maintain, fix, improve and so on. And pvp is a rainbow of options compared to pvm: you can be a samp-swordsman, a samp-thrower, a samp-archer or a masochist.

I've never played an achamyst but i intend on making a template that will use the skill.

My t-hunter is a bomberman and it is great fun. Not the most effective of the chars (mostly due to cooldown timers and weight) but it is fun.

So you think throwing bottles got a nerf. What about the town drunk. Ale bottle should do more damage.

And maybe my tailor should be able to wrap players up in cloth and kill them.

Really should be be able to carry kegs and 10000 potions in a backpack.

This game gets funnier everyday.

:D That would be senseless but funny.

Jokes aside though, explosion potions and bombermen are as old as the game.

I have to say that i didn't notice the nerf because doing only low level treasure maps i'm never engaged in long fights but i doubt i could use alchemy to deal with those challenges just because bottles weights too much.

Ah for me UO took PvP down a silly complicated road.

Lets add Special Moves
Lets add pears, peaches and apples oh my
Lets add new forms
Lets add new weapons
Lets add new classes

Lets add soul stones

When it is all said and done, nothing is different in PvP then 10 years ago but you can't loot the dead guy.

More variety of the same old thing..."my template got nerfed" "that template is over powered"

In the meantime soulstones soup dejour everyone to the most viable template.

So I hope we add some new mage spells, new special moves, a dozen new potions, sushi for magic counter, and whatever else to clutter up PvP and make it more complex for the new guy.

BLAH.

Based on your words I am assuming you mean pvp? If so, I agree that anyone with 100 alchemy & 50 EP should be curing alot quicker but thats about it.

If you have to carry that many pots that means that you basically have no other skills or ways to be effective and thats wrong. You cant play gimp now and bomb a chokepoint? That seems correct to me. Already too much no-skill nonsense goes on at chokepoints IMO.

I am pretty sure that if you have squeezed alchemy onto a valid pvp template you can still carry more then enough purples/conflags/novas to be very effective everywhere other then a chokepoint.
I would also think that some of your mates could carry pots/kegs for you if you need more right?

exactly right goldberg I've been playing alch scribe again and it's not a beast but it works decent enough to be viable. You get into a choke and yah you can chuck explodes but the weight increases make it so you have to think a little more about throwing them instead of chucking 100s.

I did a little testing with cure potions curing last night this is what I got.
This is with all types of higher end poisons, parasitic, deadly, darkglow. Sometimes I was hit with deadly, other times was lethal it was from a nox fencer with 80 poisoning.

My friend had to go at this point, I want to test 50 ep no alchemy next, but as you can see the 80EP is working decently. It seems when you fail you fail a lot, you get long strings of failure. I suppose its the rng? I did this testing because I ran into a ninja and I could not cure his suriken poison very easily. I felt alchemy wasn't curing very well but I guess it is..just when the rng says no it says no. The 0 EP is defenitly noticable, that string of 11 fails would mean death for sure. It sort of seems that as you start your chance to cure is higher then after you get into chugging a bunch of potions.

I will see if I can get more tests in today, once I get the 50EP chances I can compare to the 80EP and see if alchemy is helping any. There is a pretty noticeable difference between 80 and 0 but it should be that way.
