A shameless packrat's before and after

I am a packrat. I have a total of 26,507 maximum lockdowns at my disposal and all but 2,359 are used. This doesn’t include the many characters I have with full bank boxes. I thought it would be fun to see how many items other packrats are tossing in this cleaning.

I am starting out at a whopping 24,148 items. Wow it is hard to imagine that many items have passed through my virtual hands. I'll post my lockdown count again after the event. If you are a shameless packrat like me, show us your pride and post your numbers!

I don;t have NEARLY as much storage, and didn't catch where I started, but I FULLY plan on ditching as much stuff as possible. If I haven't used it since last Cleanup, don't plan on using it, can reasonably replace it if necessary, and it isn't a non-spawning rare item, it's GOING AWAY.

Then once the two houses are cleaned out, I have 60 or so SOSs to fish up all to toss most of the items for points.

Well..... I've gone thru half of my houses... purged somewhere around 3k worth of items...

I've landed over 2.5 million in points so far... and I've yet to tackle the larges house with the greatest number of "gift" items...

But I think tonight the server will be thinking OMG!!!!! Relief!

I have a long way to go but I'll have to rest my fingers up for sure before I start in on this again.

I resemble this remark. We've got roughly, the same house storage, but don't forget the bank storage. 175 items x chars is a lot more storage.

I don't think I'm going to have to turn in anything I care about to do all this I need to though.

So far I have spent 3M points on items and have 1M more points to spend and I have yet to get into the real high point turn-in items or emptied my first Castle.

So this is the reason i only plan to exchange 1 set of each item for my own decorations.

The most things I would be trading would be the +2% resist boots and then leave all my points in for future usage if necessary.

No reason for me to trade anything because it probably worth 10 mil max a reward item... probably not even 10 mil in this situation..

That post title fits me to a tee. Can I say OMG I need therapy. The UO trash can has been helping me alot. I still have one large house to go through, its the one that I really dont want to do :[
I spent 7 hours yesterday throwing stuff out, gave me nice point gain of 6mil
but I had been hording hard for couple months ontop of what was already there.
Having free space once again, I am hoping to get some order now in my houses.

Having free space once again, I am hoping to get some order now in my houses.

I believe it's good therapy. I went from 4pm until 3am cleaning out a castle, a keep, 2 mule accounts with 1 more mule acct to go and 2 servers to go . It was kind of distressing tossing out some things I have had for nearly 14 years but then again it sort of felt good to just let go. I just kept telling myself 'it's only pixels, it's only pixels' *sobs uncontrollably* Letting go of the past is kind of nice.

That's what I get for being an IDOC'er and an old time packrat I suppose...after having basically taken a break for almost 2 years playing different games I find that items really aren't important anymore unless they make the game more enjoyable...although I'd murder someone for a couple of rubble palm trees ...I go through Atl in luna or rares events and see pixel crack selling for 100m to 1b...I used to want to be part of that but it's not a priority anymore. I still have things important to me such as the rares Maling gave me 3-4 years ago and will have them till the day the servers or I die, not because they are rare but because they remind me of a wonderful person I was blessed to spend some time with before she left for a better life.

Yep, good therapy.
