Hi all,
After a few months of trying to fit a square peg into a round hole when it comes to farming certain stuff I’ve finally decided to start a Sampire. I’m not really in any high end guild right now so I need to be able to do things myself as well as with others. Sampire fits that bill well for me.
I’m probably gonna start with something similar to the player who wanted to create a Sampire for 1 mil or less because I want to see how useful and how often I’ll play it before I begin gearing it up. With that said I have some questions at the end, if anyone could be so kind to answer. Feel free to comment on spec also.
I’m probably going to go with a template similar to this:
120 weapon (+26 from jewels, leaving me 3 slots open on rings for other stuff)
110 Tac (+26 from jewels, leaving me 3 slots open on rings for other stuff)
99 Necro (is there any need to go higher?)
100 Spirit (any need to go higher, does it increase curse weapon dmg?)
110 Bush
110 Parry
80 Chiv (heard it was the magic #)--
Leaves me with 23 spare skill pts to bump up Bush, Parry, or Tactics later to 120 if I decide to shell out for those expensive scrolls.
Questions
1. How much mana should you have (combined from int, and item bonuses) as a Human? You don’t get the 20 Mana increase elves do; and obviously you need enough to cast Vampire form. But what’s a good range to shoot for so you can also have enough for your weapon specials, bushido, and chiv?
2. Anatomy raises your damage and thus increases life back, however spirit speak allows you to double-lifetap by also casting curse weapon. You have the added bonus of being able to wither and destroy low level spawns. You can spirit heal through mortal, blood oath and all that good necro stuff. That seems very attractive to me, is Spirit really the better/more flexible choice? Can the curse weapon be ‘resisted’, and how does its additional life leech stack up to the extra damage from Anatomy? I am aware Connor swaps his out on soulstones, I have one soulstone but probably would not do that on a regular basis due to the character swapping involved.
3. Is there any reason you wouldn’t want to go swordsmanship, when swords has Whirlwind? I’ve always liked fencing, but it seems like whirlwind would be really cool to have as a sampire. If I can hit 20 things all with mana back I would be able to stay alive so well. I saw someone with that 100 hit area poison weap the other day and that looked pretty cool too though!
4. What other reasons besides potions and if you have the items and dex/stam to reach the minimum swing speed are there to decide between 1h w/no shield, and 2h? I understand that the most important factor is to be at the swing cap (1.25) so you get the most lifetaps possible.
5. What does increasing your bush do for you? I can lightning strike at lower levels; is the chance and damage of crits increased?
Thanks for your help, this should be enough for me to get in troub… oops get started with
