Reduce faction statloss!

make statloss take 10-20% for 10min... it's too much the way it is now. that's why there's so few factioners! doooooo ittttt!

I have no problem with how much you lose in statloss, it's the time it takes to recover. I tried factions, ran around for a while and only found one other faction fighter. Low and behold it was dismount tamer and poof, I died. Took like 20 minutes just to recover and be able to fight only the same person again. Statloss timer was good when there were many people to fight, but now that it is so few, the time-limit is just ridiculous.

The whole stat-loss drawback could be evaluated to make it more fun. But that could only be part of a major faction revamp. It would probably have different stages such as if you die in a Stronghold you get 20 minutes, if you die elsewhere it is 10 minutes.

I have to agree with JC. One of the bigger bonuses IMO is that when you kill someone, you take that character out of the fight for a while. Having people back up and ready to fight again 10 seconds after you just dropped them is annoying.

Making the statloss timer a little less than 20 minutes, say 15 or 10, would attract more players that don't have alot of gaming time. That would be a good thing! :)

If you only have an hour or so a day to play, 20 minutes is a long time. Sure, you can play another character during that time, but I am sure there are players out there that just want to play factions or PvP during their game time.

I think it could be a good thing if it was done in a reasonable manner...nothing too drastic. I wouldn't want to see players getting back into the fight instantly, as another poster said above.

Just some thoughts. :)

I completely agree. It's frustrating if you have a bad run, or for new pvpers, if you die three times in a row you're sitting for an hour doing nothing!!!

My girlfriend was having fun with PVP but gave up on factions for this very reason.

See folks are worried about abuse of the new items and already folks want to find ways to make fraction softer easier

No way, It's fine the way it is, if you die you have 15 minutes to get resources and come up with new game plan for next time. If 15 minutes to long to sit it out then log in on another charicter.

I could see 15-20% skill loss for 5 to 10 Min's tops, but many will complain on that... What do you have to loose, keep it as is, Very few peeps play, drop it enough where its still (skills) workable to an extent & have more people in factions & making it a little more enjoyable..! As it is now, you are basically out of game for a half an hr (20 mins) when you croak. Not a whole lot of fun for some who will die easily over & over to the more "Skilled" daily PvP players IMO.
Look at it this way, you have lets say 3-4 hrs to play, you log onto your factions char., you die within 10 min's (not inconceivably off by much) , you're into stat loss for 20 min's. Now you basically sit out, for at what the loss is now, you're kinda useless in battles etc. Now, stat loss is over, you go back into the heat of it, die again to someone within 5 mins (again prob not far off in time) out for 20 mins more. Wow, you have gotten to play a whole 15 mins in the 1st hr..... Not a lot of fun is it. Make the loss be enough, but not where it really takes away from the fun/enjoyment of playing factions. Anyway it goes, I hope it helps the game.

The skill loss period lasts 20 minutes. It takes 20 minutes to "reset" a sigil that you've stolen from the enemy. (If they steal it back from you in that 20 minutes, it's as if they never lost it to you.)

Maybe it's not a coincidence these two periods are the same??

When you go in and demolish the enemy, they are each out of the fight for 20 minutes from the time they died. If you knocked 'em all out, you get your thief into their base and have him hand off the sigils to the rest of your faction folks. Then you all WALK or RUN those sigils to your base. (Can't recall or gate or take other shortcuts to get there.) Sometimes you have to make more than one trip to carry them all to your base, if you don't have enough folks on to do the job.

When the enemy is out of skill loss, they just might have a few minutes to scramble and get themselves organized and over to your base and MAYBE they can get those sigils back and not have to start the 10-hour corruption period all over again. Maybe....or maybe not. (Sometimes someone else shows up and wants those sigs!)

The close timing like that is part of what makes it challenging and fun.

NO! If anything, a slightly reduced stat-loss timer could maybe be a reward/incentive for controlling the towns, based upon the number of towns your faction controls. Otherwise, the timer and skill loss percentage is fine as is.

We need incentives for people to fight for control of the towns, instead of items or unnecessary changes such as this.

This is why you learn how to play WHILE in stat loss - sure you can't use the same spells or tactics, but you sure as hell can and should still play!

Actually it shouldn't have a time limit...it's more of a "Stat" penalty now...have them rebuild the stats they loose

In addition to making the fighting more realistic (i.e., if you're "dead" you are out of the fight for a while) and so that it happens in waves, the skill loss period should get people to do more cross-healing and working as a team. Of course, if you're playing with a group of people who have an "every man for himself" mindset, you're more likely to end up in skill loss.

Urge your girlfriend to give it another try, perhaps with a different group of people that have the ability to think strategically and to work as a team. If the guild leader tolerates people being "cowboys" and running around solo outside the base looking for fights while the rest of the group is trying to defend and corrupt sigils, allows individuals to run off to raid before everyone else is ready to do it as a group and thereby loses the element of surprise, doesn't encourage folks to call shots so everyone's going after the same enemy at once, doesn't maintain order in vent or teamspeak--give some serious consideration to joining up with someone else.

Statloss is just so lame, why get a punish for attending to the ingame pvp they have implanted them self? makes no sence at all and probably the reason why factions also like the rest of the pvp has bad content

I think stat loss in 15 mins would be okay instead of 20mins.

However, please fix following bugs:-

1. When I kill a person, he's in stat loss, but why can still use item to bump above its stat loss cap???

For example, 120 mace after stat loss should be 80 (why would we be able to bring this above 80????)...

This should be fixed.

2. Stat loss at 80 mace and 80 tactics, can still use special moves that require 90 tactics and 90 mace??

WHAT the heck??

Please adjust the above problem.

Ok, the skill loss is a hinderance, but as someone posted previously, to simply have an individual redo their skills .... now thats moranic ... come on think about it. You realy expect people to play factions and have to redo their skills??? So once again the larger faction guilds get to control and the lesser faction guilds or players are stuck redoing skills just to have another go! Don't think you would have many people even bothering to do factions with that mentality ... do you?
Now with the event arc involving factions, how many do you think will bother? :loser:
How about thinking your arguement through or more importantly your statement before typing it up and posting. :coco:
As it is, and I dont know much about the faction involvement with the event arc, I know the last thing I need to worry about is redoing my skills, i'm sure you all will agree on that point.
Its 40 skills points or less for 20 mins, as it stands now.... not that much of a penalty than having to redo ones skills that will take days or longer! :lick:

People stating this most likely are the ones who would never PvP in faction too intense/no guardzone carebear/statloss but want all faction artifacts in the next patch.

There's no plan for people who refuse to play faction to get the artifacts so just like Sampires they try to pick on the people who's willing to take all the hassle in order to get rewarded. Typical sour grape psychology.

If anything faction artifacts should have max equipable pieces limit. Limiting 3 faction arties equippable at a time or something like that. And it would be better to reduce the statloss timer a bit.

Hmm i also dont understand why this items are no factions items, then if they faction items, they are limited by the rank you have.
