Waaaaay back when:
I was a tailor, the garden in Wind wasn't populated with kraken and air elementals, but rather with deer and bear. I would routinely go there and kill these poor defenseless animals and few would bother me there. After all, there were much better places to kill people than that out of the way place.
One day, two people decided to check me out and test out their PvP prowess. But they expected to find a mage fighting in Wind, and I was a fencer in a time when fencers made sushi out of any mage. So they attacked me together, and I quickly killed one of them and the other then ran away.
It wasn't a great win. They were pretty bad PvPers (but they got better. Both turned into good PKs over time). But it was the win that told me, "Hey, even with my bad connection and lack of experience, I can win these battles!" It was a real turning point in my UO life.

Yes, PvP is easily the only reason why the majority of players are still on UO. PvP is UO's greatest strength, which is why the Devs would do well to take extra care to keep the PvPer's happy.
I believe in compromises - in regard to crafting, keep current suits fortifiable permanently (ie. non-decayable), while having newer armour pieces with more powerful mods that come with the new expansion, fortifiable for a limited no. of times (ie. decayable).
As for pvp itself, it's really been fun pvping with the top pvp gods, such as yourself. Although no one can kill me one-on-one and hence I draw in all duels, but there's a great gulf of difference in terms of intensity (and hence enjoyability), when pvping with a top pvper like your Nuriko (UO's god template if there ever was one... tamers notwithstanding), as compared to the average pvper.

I was in my house a small wood and plaster. I was training up wrestling on my mage using an orc while i healed it. This made me grey. Just to think when was the last time you could heal an orc lol. Anyhow I was grey and 3 semi noobs are stroling through the area and notice me. Since I was using the doorway to train with the orc these noobs Scream Hes GreyGet him! All in a group come ruinning up to the house and try to kill me. I para explosion all 3 to death all the while giving them a stearn warning about attacking grey mages.

Because my guildmates can be trusted not to gank you, but the same can't be said for your guildmates.
Doesn't matter the template. As long as both sides don't use tamer, can liao. And one more thing - I duel with no rules (ie. field pvp style). That's the only rule. If you will only duel with a list of rules (no dismount, no pots, no petals, no summons, no disarm, etc etc), that's not true pvp. Then don't bother saying "I can kill you, but only when we duel under my rules...".
I've got work till 10pm, Sg time. It's ok, as long as you accept my terms (ie. no rules, plus no spectators from LGH or 2012. You want witness? we'll call Nuriko), we can pvp anytime we see each other online at Luna.
Arrogance again.
Let's see, just last week, I mentioned to Nuriko, "if we dueled with Gandalf, the 3 of us will probably draw, right?" and he replied, "LOL! I kill Gandalf easily!", and as Nuriko can honestly testify, he and I draw 100% of all duels (at least for the last 20 duels or so).
So based on Nuriko's words (and he doesn't lie), which idea do you think is more realistic, that I would draw with Gandalf (my humble view), or that Gandalf would kill me in 30 seconds (Gandalf's arrogant view)?

Im pvp tamer Caci from Drachenfels wich moved to
Atlantic.Killed in 3 years 4500 pks with my tamer.
For instance yesterday in about 2 houers my tamer Caci killed 8 pks
on Atlantic.
So if you aske me about my favorite pvp experiance.
Its just the ocean.If i dont play eve online too,i would be better into pvp.

If you want to duel me, Gandalf, all right, just accept my conditions (you did say you will accept my rules, as long as we both follow them). I have 2 more conditions, very simple ones -
1) you join my guild temporarily with your most powerful (non-tamer) pvp character, and we can pvp as many rounds as you like, in Malas. We don't want flagging issues or others interfering with the duel in Fel.
2) Leave Taka and all other LGH (similarly, I'll leave my guildmembers) out of this. No one else should be present (including stealthers), other than only one witness - Nuriko.
In your last post you're upset and getting into personal attacks. I have no desire for any issues with Taka (ur rl friend) or other LGH pple. Which is why I want to keep this duel strictly between you and me. If you want to tell them who won (though I predict it will be draw all the way), go ahead and tell them the outcome after the duels. In the meantime, don't get them involved in any way.

A bunch of blue players and I were fighting in t2a UNDEAD CITY area. It was a time when liches meant something and you needed their gold and loot to build up your bank.
Blocking was in play. I miss that though I also thought wrestling should have had a factor in breaking through.
Well as we are all fighting a blue gate opens. No, not a silly red gate for candy land, a blue gate....
Who comes through....

Like I stated, there is no PvP. Look at these two fellows arguing. All the rules just to fight. Who joins a guild. What soup dejour template. Who stabs who. Where to fight. Should it be Malas. Why not Fel.

All my favorite pvp experiences involve me stealing someone's weapon and killing them with it. I won an 8 on 1 vs a pk troupe where I started the fight naked and without a weapon. It was crazy fun 
Of course, something had to be done to spoil my fun. Stealing is now just a memory. It's not even a shadow of what it was. Granted, you shouldn't be able to start a fight naked and beat 8.

a few years ago I was on my way to farm leather in Despise. In the middle of my farming a red showed up to farm me. I took off running, seeing as how I was not all that experienced in PvP at the time, and he gave chase. By the time we exited Despise I noticed he really was not doing much damage to me, so I decided to fight and see how I did. Within a few seconds it became very clear that this "PK" was no match for me, so he began to run and I gave chase. I chased him all the way past Brit to his Tower which was set to public but the doors were private. Well he ran up, hands must have been shaking cause it took im a few seconds to open the door which allowed me to get him to about half life. He finally opened the door and ran in, so I followed and quickly finished the job in his own house. Seeing as how he attacked me I did not feel bad at all about looting him dry.
And thats what made me fall in love with PvP.

AA, If u come to oceania then we can duel again like old time ^^ choon here. Ya, i am back to oceania.
Any time 2 players fight each other it's PvP.
I know that's a difficult concept for you to understand. If you need more info I can draw it in crayon for you.
There was a 2 hour battle on Pac in Terathan Keep Sunday night. 50+ players from 5 different guilds.
During that same time, my wife was doing Peerless, she visited every Tram peerless spot. She saw 3 people total.
You should really show up for a large Fel battle sometime Connor, you'd be amazed at what it's like to see 50+ people on your screen. Doubt you ever see that in Tram, except for maybe at the latest event spot, but then again more than half the people you see at those events are PvPers taking a break trying to get the latest event items.

Here are my 2, from both sides of the fence, about 9 years ago or so.
Defender. I had just gotten PK outside of Moonglow. I was chopping tree's. I saw that they were still hanging around......so i ran and logged, and switched charaters. I put on the best armor i had, and hid it with a robe. I put on a newbie mage hat, and equiped a, "Practice Weapon", i had my real weapon, in my pack. I pretended to try to tame a horse. Here they came for their newbie kill, and i switched weapons, and killed them both, and got my stuff back. After that i kept a log of names of people who killed me, so i could return the favor if i ever saw them again.
PKer: I was in one of those moods where i was pissed off at the game. Namely, "Blue Pks". So i decided if you can't beat em, join em. I went to Wrong. I was killing ettens and such until another guy showed up. He got low on Health, and i healed him. "Thanks" he said. "NP", and the trap was set. Later he got low again, and i healed him again. Then when he got low again i said, "Keep fighting, i will heal you". "Thanks," he said. I used the ol trick of using the SAY Macro with my spell macro. Say In vas Mani, Cast Spell Corp Por e bolt. hehehe, Ooooops, stay there i hit the wrong macro, hehehe corp por......000ooo000ooo, hehehe

If you cant be looted and loot. And players can go in 100% protected. Cant be stolen from. Can be back in the game without any loss in 1 minute. Its just not PvP. Its an arcade game.
Thats all I am saying.
Now I will say there is skill needed. And some great PvPers that would whip me. But when you have nothing to lose... it aint PvP.

Spare the "go play uninsured then". Thats definitely not PvP. That me losing my stuff with no chance to do little more then kill you and watch you rez to kill me next round. WOOOHHOOOO fun.
Wrong......... Any time 2 people fight, it's PvP. Just because it's not the way you prefer it to be, doesn't change the fact that it's PvP.
How can you even argue with that fact.

Best experience of all however was back in the day there was a player named Adam Ant on Napa. He ran a rather large guild and they had tourneys every weekend. Tons of players. Two of my friends created newbie chars, grabbed explosion kegs and invised themselves at the tourney, which was held at a keep. At the given time each player started clicking the explosion pots while moving through the crowd. Tons of deaths! It was very funny and nobody seemed to know what hit them. Each of my friends chars received several counts, but since they were newbie chars they just deleted them. Totally awesome.

I can agree its 2 people fighting.
But I can also argue its a water downed version of what it once was.
So maybe Ill give its a psuedo cheezy PvP where there is no risk and agree with you its 2 people fighting.
For the most part I try to avoid PvP whenever possible. But back in the days before Blackthorn's revenge I had a disarm thief. I used to get into all kinds of trouble with him. My favorite was when I failed at stealing my intended target, and my victim decided to play slaughter the thief. I was able to disarm him and cut him down with his own kryss before he was able to kill me. That was my one and only successful kill in PvP. A few hours later he showed up with a few friends in one of my usual stealing spots and they all ganked me in revenge.
He never did get that kryss back though.

Shortly after I started playing I joined a small guild consisting of 3 active players, most of us being fairly new to the game. One of the kids in the guild had boughten a small house which was next door to a PKer. This PKer, who's name was Westside, used to come over and kill our little firend, so on several occasions all of us inexperienced noobies would try and go "defend" our friend from this ruthless enemy.
So it was us 3 noobs versus this obviously seasoned PKer. We died alot, but it was great fun and for the first time in any game, we really had the feeling that we were fighting for a cause.
Anyways,

This PKer, who's name was Westside, used to come over and kill our little firend, so on several occasions all of us inexperienced noobies would try and go "defend" our friend from this ruthless enemy.
So it was us 3 noobs versus this obviously seasoned PKer. We died alot, but it was great fun and for the first time in any game, we really had the feeling that we were fighting for a cause.

I play siege so my pvp locations are different.. but!!
i was pvping in luna and i was totally outnumbered.. so i teleported onto the east wall ( mage ) and set up an efield.. (the wall is three tiles accross without a way to get down for non mages) so im sitting there getting mana using my efield as insurance just incase and a player named krystal runs up (lol krys) she is an archer.. and cannot shadow jump/teleport/invis/dispell.. soo!!! i drop an efield behind her aswell.. she is now trapped between two efields.. so im thinking creatively and throw two evs in the little box with her and drop a few poison fields in there with her... and watched it all play out..
loved it cause i never really get to use evs in pvp anymore..

This statement is demonstrably false. The devs have stated time and time again that most players never set foot in Felucca. If you could freeze-frame each facet, Trammel and the various Trammel rules facets will have more people at basically any given point in time. If more people went to Felucca on their own, there would never have been power scrolls, double fame, double resources, etc. PvPers are a vocal minority, whose presence on these boards is far disproportionate to their numbers.
The "evidence" the Fellies keep pointing to in order to inflate their numbers is that Fellie guilds tend to be very large, and tend to dominate the top 10 guilds lists of most shards. The logical error in this, however, is obvious.
Most Fellie things (Champ Spawns mostly, Factions to a degree, and to a still-lesser degree the Fel Peerlesses) are done by guilds, as guilds, with the conscious effort to excluded non-members or non-allies.
By contrast, most Trammel things can be done without a guild, many of them solo. Those that require a group can be done with spontaneous groups. That doesn't mean less people are out there doing Trammel things, it just means that there's not as much of a need to organize before-hand.
As to my favorite PvP experience? There have been several, but I don't really care to relate them. Many of you would just, falsely, claim they never happened, and few things **** me off as much as willful denials of reality.

One time I wrestled a guy to death after stealing his weapons and bandages, and he got trapped behind a couple of vendors and never got any more stamina cause i kept hitting him. Took about 20 minutes, but I was laughing my ass off the whole time he was pleading with me to stop.

My favorite pvp moment(s) is fighting people like this. I love watching them zoom off my screen with the speedhack on his task bar and I love how he never gets caught on obstacles because quite simply his client doesnt havem. I also love not being able to lay fields as easily as him because his client shows the fields in a nice orderly block format. I also love when someone actually does catch him and kill him, fighting his tamer thats also logged in and hidden nearby as he multi clients with the other cheat program he has running in his task bar. I also love the fact he is still around and fast as ever despite him posting screenshots like this on the GL forums on stratics which is the official forums of UO. The fact that this guy and his entire guild are still around are great reminders of EAs zero tolerance policy against cheaters. People that read these forums know ive complained alot of this kind of garbage but its not like im fishing for things to complain about, the fact is these things are happening at an ever increasing rate in UO and I find it ridiculous to believe that EA doesnt know whats going and refuses to do anything about it. Look how much I had to block out of this picture just so it doesnt show the names and effects of the actual cheats going on. I hope this pic isnt against the rules since the original version of this picture was posted by the player in the picture and its still up on the GL forums if one goes back quite a few pages.

One guy got to hassling me with some fairly obscene comments. When he asked, Hey, Baby, wanna **** me? My temper flared I said sure, my house .. opened a gate to friend's house in Fel. He should have paid attention to the color of the gate! Anyway, we went thru, and I turned that smith/mage on him, catching him totally off-guard with paralyze, poison, flame strike. Looted his body, took his GM armor and weapons in by the forge and let his ghost watch me smelt it all. As I recalled out, I told the ghost ... You've been ****ed.

My favourite was the time Reepacheep got stuck between me and a large amount of spawn in Despise. After he disarmed me, I still got the kill shot with my fists, lol.
My second favourite was when I got Knight of Justice for the first time, and I got it off Pestilance.

I have a lot, but my favourite is always getting a wrestle kill in duels vs other mages. I also enjoy both of usdying at the same time, and having no one on to res us. Both have happened probably 25+ times, meaning easily over 3000 duels, yet they stick out.
Words are just that, words. And in a forum it means nothing as anyone can type anything regardless of whether they are true or not. Maybe pictures might be more? Show us, plz. Otherwise for all we know your just lying so you don't look bad for nothing show up on time.
