UO Craziness...Things That Wonder Me!

On Baja at Bake Kitsuni Valley there is an 18x18 dwelling with vendors lined up side-by-side on three sides of the plot and one vendor on the roof...that's 50 vendors in total. Every vendor is empty, barren except the roof vendor who has 13 items. That's 49 sterile vendors! Just weird

On LS, there is a house outside Luna that has around 30 vendors, all empty. And have been for months, if not longer. Maybe they are a bad idea of Deco?

So the guy has vendors. Ok. Maybe he likes them. Maybe he puts stuff on them. Perhaps he ran a mall at one time and closed it. Perhaps he plans on opening that mall in the future. Maybe, just maybe, he plans world domination and one day will crash all the UO servers and then all your base will belong to him.

There is only one thing for sure though. It is absolutely none of your business

Can we all just play the game without meddling in others affairs? How they play the game? What template they use? Do they grind out potions naked and drunk while playing the lute? As long as it is not affecting you or your account, don't be bothered by it.

I suppose in keeping with the theme of the thread, the greatest thing in UO that makes me wonder would be why does everyone want to stick their nose in everyone elses buisiness? For that matter, even IRL. If it's not violating the rights of others, it's nobody's buisiness.

Think I caught that. <grin> Must admit it's been a bit intense my end too, having just learned of all this duping stuff. [[Heyah, feller, rolling off the back of that turnip truck was NO fun! So *where* did you say I am?]]

Having been through the "No way in HELL will UO ever be anything but full, total PvP, and if you don't like it you can leave!" wars here on Stratics in the old, OLD days before there was any hint of a Tram, I actually realize how futile all this probably is. Oh, that statement (paraphrased) re PvP was made on these boards by some UO representatives back then, including the "if you don't like it you can leave." Those guys had very high opinions of themselves and very low opinions of us. People left UO in droves. I was one of them.

I'm not surprised vendors are emtpy, what with everything going on. What would seem a bigger surprise right now would be to find lots of stocked vendors. I know mine are way down, primarily because of the Spring Cleaning. I didn't know about the new items for the last phase and wound up selling a lot of stuff WAY too cheap. Now there's this duping thing...

What makes me wonder are all the places I still haven't been after all these years. Just found a new (for me) set of stairs down to I don't know where in the Lost Lands yesterday. Was farming Ophidians and my thoughts wandered. Started chasing wyverns and wound up where I hadn't been before. Think that's one of the greatest things about UO, there's so much to it sometimes I think a lifetime wouldn't be enough to discover it all. <sigh> I'm so darned hooked on that stupid game.

As has been pointed out, I'm on Pacific. I'm in the process of moving from my old house to the new, but the vendors are still up and fully stocked at the old location. I'm going to be having a big "moving sale" either Sunday or Monday so I can get rid of as much backstock as possible. I've got enough junk to move so if I can get rid of some of it it'll save me some recalls.
