What I would like to know is why was this not a issue for the last 2 years that I have been back until you hear everyone complaining about no luck in UWB? Also who are these cry babies that have the dev's ear enough to get things done in this game. Instead of crying about no luck and killing one of the only ways for new players have a chance to get anything worth value in this stupid inflated economy of UO. Cry about the guy that made me stop placing runes for my shop shortly after I started back. Wait he will never stop because he has to be one of the cry babies (he has been doing it for the last two years that I have been back probably out there picking up peoples runes now). Funny you can page and page on a cheater and they do nothing but throw some bag balls around the cheaters house so he can't cheat and see how quick they post about suspending anyone's account found bag balling houses. Or the guy that scripts all the large houses? I get that UWB was made to be a hard and ment to have a group. When I'm on in the morning and can't get enough people to come help me kill the guy by gating them in. How am I going to get enough people together in this dead game to do it at all now? I'm not looking to make this game a full time job like you cry babies. This is the one and only game I play and little by little over the last two years I have been back it has turned from a game into a job to get anything. Already have a job don't need or want another. Stop crying and killing things that obviously people want changed to keep them the same old broken way.

@Benjaminseth007 Just an FYI, the ability to gate people who haven't done the quest, and pets (who weren't supposed to be allowed in the underwater champ any case) was simply an exploit that finally got fixed. It was farmed 24/7 on ATL forever. It honestly sounds like you are crying because the exploit was fixed. Just my opinion of course. Do the quest, and get others that have done it as well, and you are good to go. No pets though!

It sounds like they are on a smaller shard and found people willing to gate in but not bother with whole quest

Well, they aren't willing to do the quest they won't be able to go. It is a very simple concept. If you want the rewards, you have to put in the time. End of story. I am fine with that. Heck it's not like the roof where you have to do the rooms "quests" EVERY TIME you want to do it.

I play on Atlantic. I don't mind the quest. I have done it. The fact that people pay so much real cash for this game is amazing not that I haven't bought a few mill myself. Would have never made it this long if I didn't with every things prices. Not going to keep buying gold to play though. Never sold anything but with these prices considering it. What I don't like is when I get up at 5 am go get keys and spam for people that have done the quest to come help and no one is there to help even when I could gate people in most of the time I couldn't get enough people in there to help me. As for the no pets funny why when I did get people to show only ones with pets showed up? Strange seem like players want to be able to take pets in. I could be wrong but fixing something people have been complaining about beside something that they do everything they can to exploit to get pets would be a better use of there time. No I wont be joining everyone on New Legacy I don't see the appeal of everything I worked for getting erased at the end of the year. Seems like a strange fix for this game in my opinion.

LOL yeah I spent some time taming and messing with those crabs this morning. Not sure how a crab that dies when a couple of leaches attack it is going to help much down there. As for the winning dexxers and mystics I would be fine with any of them if any would show up when I needed and call for help instead of all the tamers that actually do show up. Its ok game was getting old anyway. Events are all the same old thing. Same lame holiday gifts. Half of the few 1000 people that still actively play this game are so toxic try to post anything in a forum or chat with out getting trolled to death and don't get me started on general chat. Funny it wasn't a problem for so long until all you heard was cry babies crying about was the lack of luck everyone had down there. I'm have only been back for 2 year last played in the 90's so what do I know.

Gamers are showing up because before it was tamer- only event. Because of exploit. USB was reducing value of legendary jewels.
So now you will be able to sell more. Or do something you can do solo if not many people play when you are. UWB should be killed in big group : you get way more loot then. So some peerless or other content.

So what you are telling me is that all the loot I will no longer will be able to get by looting because game is to dead to find enough to help me with it. It is going to cost more now. Tell me in an economy where I have watch countless players come and go because nothing is affordable. How is that going to help anyone besides the people with houses full of stuff for platinums. My main problem is I can't afford anything in this game now. UWB was helping keep me with a little good loot to sell. Even half the stuff I get from there sits on a vendor and never sales. Most bosses and content in this game gives you junk for loot. No one even hangs around to loot them. I killed that giant spider for half a day once. Never got one thing that will sell on my vendors. So still not sure how fixing that did anything for the game. Seems like a lot of wasted time they could have used fixing other stuff that is actually broke. It comes down to if they keep listening to the same cry babies that have made this game what it is it is going to continue to die. Given that you've been back 2 years and have had plenty of time on ATL to make UWB runs you should have no problem with gold or a suit.

Was considering checking out small shard. What I spend most of my gold and time doing is decorating my houses. I like making illusion houses that blend with the back ground. Gets real pricey in today's UO market. Not really big on beating the same old boss over and over and over to maybe 1 out of 1000 get what I need. Back in the 90's when I use to play I made my gold mining. Now you just go to who ever has the best dead shard script and buy your ingots in buck for a price me stabbing a shovel at a mountain wont compete with. Picture of my vineyard attached. Used to be what was cool about this game you could be a miner and still make your way.

First it depends what you calling junk. Try farming painted caves. Even Lurg gives good items sometimes. Junk is important for unravelling. Lots of items are not bad. Just not very good.

It depends what are you selling. If you cannot afford some stuff go get it yourself. Farm it. There are many ways to earn gold in game. You can make 2-40 mil on most shards never leaving guard zone with newly created toon. In several hours.
If you have house you can sell stuff. Imbuing ingredients sells good . Tinker legs can be farmed with so-so gargish (question cyclone) or human equipment. Slowly, but possible.
Trade runs -> sell pinks. Very expensive stuff. Have 90+Margery and Carpenter ? Go make Medusa keys and sell em

UWB can be done solo. But with way less reward. More people - more loot from same boss and way easier to kill.. Find more people on shards you playing. It is MMO . Or you can play solo. Some content will be hard.

Lol I can see I didn't get my point through clear enough for everyone. I could care less really about the underwater boss being nerfed. I stop doing it months ago when I kelp getting up wasting my morning getting key for no one to come help me with it. What I didn't like is it only took a few weeks of the right people crying about it for them to fix it. Why can't these people complain about something actually killing the game.

Lol it has a lot to do with this tread really. Because if any of this is true about you, you are probably one of the ones running the scripts to steal drops and prizes from those that worked for it. The sum that have been running these scripts and all the ones like it in this game is what is killing this game. All the hard core PVPers. Why is it that I haven't watched one video that they are not using some sort of illegal add-on. Not that this game could stand to use some of the stuff I see. Just seems there time could be better served maybe putting in some of these add-ons. Wait lets waste our time on something like making it to where all the players without luck can't get into underwater that's what the people really want. That has been broke for how long? A little over 2 year I can vouch for.

I know there are other ways to make gold. Getting gold isn't really my problem. I was a miner years ago in this games prime. Enjoyed the mind numbing monotony of it. No where for miners in this game anymore scripts got it covered. Then tell me it not one of these vet players scripts when you show up to the decked our castle that has the at 20 year flag out front to buy all your resource needs for a few mill. Just angry that the little man power this game has goes to fix all the minor problems that the vet players have instead of fixing the game for everyone. You go and read the meet and greet notes and and it just makes you sadder about the state of this game. We get a new soul stone color a glitch that killed players to fast on a boss fixed, a new helmet and reapers to start casting again. Wait what do you mean reapers stopped casting? That is just what this game needed guys thanks for coming out.

For one tell me 99% of loot in this game isn't worth the time you take putting it on a vendor. Maybe the four people that run this game can put what little time they got revamping the loot we get. Wait what do you mean there are unlucky people In UWB. The fixes that take priority in this game make me angry is all.

Yes the game has its up and downs. No it is in a down Phase. Using Bugs will not give a solution howto get a bigger Player base.

This post really has nothing to do with under water boss besides the fact that it got fixed after how many years of it being broke because someone didn't like the fact the loot was getting nerfed by all the new players in there with out luck. I don't script or use any unapproved third party programs (I use CC with UOA) and I have enough fun to keep playing and make enough gold to support my play. You are on here freaking out about how some exploit got fixed and you are all over the place with your moaning and groaning. You have no idea the exploit was being reported so for you to rage post about "crybabies got it fixed in a week" or whatever nonsense you are talking about is invalid because unless you have access to the support email inbox you have no clue and are just talkin out your @$$. For all you know it's been reported for the past 7 years and they just now finally got around to it... but I'm sure that would be another rage post "AHhhh why did it take so long to fix!!! AHHHHHH"

Here is some unsolicited advice; if you spent less time posting a sob story about an exploit being fixed and more time actually playing the game, I'm sure you'd instantly increase your chances at making gold.

Actually, I left and sold both accounts in 2005 and sadly had to hand the reins over on Stratics IRC to another when my wife informed me our first child was on the way, and my time in the UO world was cut short as my kids always took priority. I was one of the top 10 richest on Pacific before I left and went through the same issues you are having with your quests, with quests I needed to complete that were popular at the time. It would be a good idea to watch YouTube and see others who have done the quest to get it down pat. Then either start your own guild or join someone else's. This quest sounds like something that takes hours to do, not something that others can just stop what their doing and join. Long quests take days of preparation and planning, and believe me, if you join a guild, I'm sure the GM would be happy to get others together and do this quest, just not at a drop of a pin. No one likes dying, and losing not just their things, but their fame and karma too. I used two accounts, each with a GM tank mage, GM Tamer, GM Smith, and GM carpenter, and GM scribe. Wasn't easy to do but sure as heck came in handy when an entire party gets wiped out and you got to gate the dead back to resurrect if one can, and try again. I see a lot of venom, and believe me I know how frustrating it gets. Don't bring that into the game. Join one of the stronger guilds, help resurrect a
Party that lost carrier and died, it's easier to get an offer to join a guild if your friendly and helpful. I miss my days on Pacific, but sadly still don't have the time to play like I used to, so am stuck once in a blue moon, jumping into an emulator I can control which is like twice a year if I'm lucky. I had two accounts, to hold one castle and one tower, being the housing space back then was so bad, you could sell a placed castle on eBay alone for $2500+
I liked to solo on my bad moods, and that meant dying, often, when no one was online, so log on another account to cut the delay, and resurrect my main character. Back then, before PayPal and eBay banned all pixel sales, selling gold and property, brought in some nice $$. Some time after I left, EA had a huge dupe account banning, and both eBay and PayPal took heavy charge back hits, which is why they ended those sales for good.

I have two accounts that I use primarily for house placement. One on my primary shard and one on Atlantic. Guildmates have homes on other shards so we shack up together at times to help each other out.

I just went and keye'd up my accounts.... I'm all set. That being said wasn't impressed with the loot. Why not just do shadowguard?

I'm done being the cry baby myself now. I prayed about it yesterday and I realized this is a game that until 2 years ago I could careless about. Why should I let it anger me so? I apologize Keven I didn't mean to single you out. You are completely right I don't really know anything. It probably did just take them 7 years to fix the thing everyone has been asking them to. I'm not going to lie and say I will never play again. Been playing the last 2 years a couple hours of a morning almost every day. Just going to downsize and hold out for brighter horizons. You have multiple account to have multiple houses if you are like me and like to decor houses . I myself have 5 accounts all paid up by gold, I have probably only killed the underwater boss a few dozen times in my two years back and 99% of that loot was junk (If you didn't see Grizzly Adams down there I wasn't there). So yes I know there are other ways to make gold in this game. LOL I only posted here because EA's email bot block my message to Bonnie. Message didn't attract the people I hoped it would. Made a nice place to rant a bit though. Was cool to see a lot of you jump on to defend game as apposed to bashing it like you see a lot of us do any more lol. Truthfully I do love the root of what this game was. When a simple miner running around looking for the rare metals can make his way selling his goods again in this game and they don't delete my house every year it will make me happy. Also that damn rune thief is gone. Every time I see his runes it makes me lose a little love for this game.

My 2-cents. If you had to pray about this game it's time to take a break. It's a game, if it's not fun don't play. I have to tell my kid the same thing all the time. I enjoy playing. When I don't enjoy it, I don't play. Simple as that.

Thank you @Benjaminseth007 . To be clear I'm not disagreeing with you that I don't think it's something they had to fix. I agree is that since UWB had a 30min timer; it's not like it was completely breaking the game. Even on ATL (which I assume did UWB the most) it was hit or miss in the AM and afternoon and pretty steady at night. So out of 48 chances in 24 hours to do UWB, I'd say maybe it was done like 15-20 times a day? Like I said, I think it's far from breaking the game but it's something they decided to fix so like most other things with this game, it is what it is.

I think the big draw before the last publish was that anyone could hop in (via gate) and depending on the group size would go pretty quick (ATL prime time would only take a few minutes once keys were placed). I could pop in for just 15-20min head to UWB and do a "round" and be done vs needing to go do all the rooms for Shadowguard (takes me about 45min or so) and then doing the roof (takes forever to solo for me). My opinion was that UWB was much much much better for the casual UO player just looking to kill some time with some good reward.

The other reason I personally like UWB over Shadowguard is the amount of non-gargoyle stuff for UWB. For example, 95% of garg melee weapons are immediately trash to me so those are wasted drops. Much of the garg jewelry is the same. On the flip side if I were to get some armor/jewels from UWB that weren't garg they could be altered in many cases.

For me personally, UWB never really felt grindy (even when I'd get the keys) but I can't say the same for Shadowguard. Particularly for me because most times I'll only play 30-90min at a time (some days I might only play 30min total) so being able to head down to UWB and get at least 1 run in (or maybe 2) for the possibility of great loot seemed much more productive than doing 1 Shadowguard run if I was lucky (for me the loot here even varies; I've had quite a few runs of junk).

Yes getting a piece with Stamina and dex from the Roof is uber rare. It is minimum rare to get from UW. Then the RNG as to whether it is legendary.

Scalis, Corgul same uber rare for a dex item.

I also think quite a few jewelry items you see in Traders hall come from UW.

Someone(a dev) needs to actually explain how multiple instanced corpses affects loot.

They really need to just remove that code all together. Just because 10x the players beat on something and then break party does not mean that the boss should drop 10x the loot at a lower intensity.

That is a very interesting observation. I get them all the time from roof encounter. I also get pieces that have dex, int, and stam and mana. What I don't ever get are pieces that have str + dex + st + hps. I don't know if that's possible or not. How much luck do you run? I typically run about 2000 on my toons.
