I know this won't be popular...but I like the Fel side clicky. I think it brings back some good ol unity! Funny how 1 little thief can create so much hatred toward them and have 3-5 people hanging around warning people and invising people.

I don't know about the rest of you but don't you think it is about time we got 'useful' gifts? I mean seriously, most of us must be well over the age of 30 now and I do not believe how thrilled you all seem to be about getting a crappy bit of deco that does absolutely nothing.
I mean if my partner gave me a plastic cupid for valentines day I would tell him to shove it where the sun don't shine, why do we accept such rot from people we PAY to supply us decent content?
Given we got bugger all at xmas, surely they could give us 'gifts' that actually 'do' something. I mean I am not looking for overpowered stuff, just say a cupid that 'gives' you a half hour mana boost of 10 points or gives you heart shaped lollies that you feed your pets or yourself for an extra 5 points of life for 30 mins.
I mean are we so desperate for just 'anything' that we are satisfied with total junk now?
I won't even bother to get these, other than just one on my main account. For the sake of it, and even then I hardly can even be bothered at that.
Don't you think we deserve a bit better than this? And don't say it is a 'free gift' it isn't free. We pay a damn subscription.

First of all....ya'll are weird....I couldn't see what you guys were talking about with his left arm....I had to REALLY look at it...and unless a guys junk comes out of his stomach then ya'll have some sick minds.....the placement is wrong....
Second......I think the artists cheated.....because I googled cupid.....first thing that pops up
Third...cupid IS the god of erotic love......which makes the *good* gift a bit more disturbing imo.....
But I have learned to never be ungrateful when getting a gift...no matter how disturbing it is lol.

I re-used my alt characters that I created for Festive tree gifts - newly minted 50 Neco 50 SS 20 Meditation. Cast Wraith form 9-10 times and your alt is now "rude" karma and can claim the cool looking gifts. Find a public Crystal Portal in Luna town and say Fel Yew Mint which takes you 3-4 screens from Heartwood. I also buy a horse from stable so i can dash in and out as fast as possible.
Better be careful what you say or they will label you a "b" word... or a "c" word ...

Personally I don't see a "gift" as something I have to go to Fel to fetch and risk having it stolen by some fool with nothing better to do with their day but hurt others.. . but whatever... I fail to see how it's a gift... But IMO it really is starting to show how they care for the community...
As for the cupid and what that looks like... Only if my mind were in the gutter and I was drunk would I see it that way... and certainly given what I know of anatomy I'd have to say no not even close... I'd be more inclined to believe that other arm was giving us a big fat middle finger...
I'm kinda with Miss Echo on this one. Something moderately useful would be cool. I actually like deco items but the holiday stuff always seemed gaudy and out of place to incorporate into a good deco theme. I'm over 50 now and don't get the same thrill from this stuff like I did 20+ years ago and really don't care if they do them at all, but I get that people dig em. It's free crap for cleanup points I guess.

I think it's the trend that disturbs a lot of people.
I mean, it's virtual stuff, but "Covid Quarantining" kept nothing coming for a year...no work from home as a group from this crew.
Then the big deal is a spawn generator, for rewards that a) you can fish up, or b) if desired at all, are shard bound.
Then no Holiday...
it gets worse year after year with this one...I can't remember a producer who was so polarizing, ever. The inner circle will always love anything tossed out...but more and more players are turning away.

YES! It IS true lol. This is how she gifts the very people that pay for her mortgage and the food on her table! She has really outdone herself in level of toxicity! This is why I say @MalagAste is spot on and correct most of the time she complains. I have a couple of nice gifts for Valentines gifts for Mesana in Unleashed very appropriate for the occasion. Go check them out! Cannot mention them here. I'm not even sure I I can mention them there may get banned lol, but I had to get it out of my system. That B**CH!

Mesana is Sooo nice with this group of people that pays for her mortgage and car and her food on her table to feed her fleshy existence. She was Soooo nice with Christmas time appreciation gifts.
So we decided to gift her back appropriately for Valentine's day, if you can check the UNLEASHED for a second. Go and check it out. I dont care if I get banned from Stratics, but she deserves every bit of that. She is so hateful it is amazing how a PRODUCER can be as toxic as that!
Heaven forbid they put out content that forces you to (maybe) interact with another player. All this over an item that's going to cost (maybe) 200K in a month. If you got your gift stolen, let me know, I know some folks who are "stackin' 'em deep and sellin' 'em cheap."
Just like the Christmas rewards, these require you to put out a very minimal effort to acquire. I still don't see what all of the fuss is about. Honestly, I think both awards were a step in the right direction. Christmas required you to get 5 drops in Ice, this one requires you to go to fel and click a statue. How much easier do you want it? If you can't do that, perhaps video games aren't your thing.
If this silly pixel gift is the whole reason you play, cancel your sub, take your $15, and buy something with it, I promise you will be much happier with it and you know what you are getting. I like to think that the $15 a month I pay is for the interaction between myself and either the game world or other players. Is it really too much to ask that players interact with something besides a clicky to get a gift?

Ironic there is so much uproar about about the clicky being in Fel so that thieves can steal the statue, which I'd like to remind everyone is an actual in game skill (we aren't talking scamming).

I remember back in '48, I mean '98, when we didnt have to click anything...they just dropped in pack on login...
All the old timer wisdom does nothing to help a newer, (not brand new) but way newer than us player . Those who asked where it was, went, and got their one per account toy stolen. Were you Mr. Helpful then? No. I go back to hearing that she said she is the last producer of UO. The next one might actually be a leader, as a producer is not working out so well anymore.. As long as the game still makes a profit, no matter who is in charge, we play.

i got mine super early in the morning so didnt have to worry about thieves then one of my buddies wanted to go down so i went with them and i stood at the top od the ladder. The thief was in stealth and instantly stole it from my friend as soon as he clicked then casted invis on themselves. Since i was at the ladder the thief was stuck on the platform. They tried to pass me and revealed themselves and we ganked them and got the clicky back. We were lucky the thief didnt just bag of sending it but we got it back.
Especially Mesanna who was never short of shooting down any freeshard talks by saying they "stole" all the work from them. In the end it's the same Mesanna that let a gold seller run the swag shop. Nobody should be suprised imo.
I really don't understand the decision to put the items on Fel only. I was able to claim all 5 of mine without even seeing anyone else, but I went early in the morning. The night before, it was a real **** show on LS with people losing their Cupids to thieves. We have a few players with extremely poor eyesight (likely legally blind) and this douchebag stole from one of them.
It also feels like the days of gifts with actual utility are over. I like the deco items, but I wish we'd also get some items you could use - like others have listed above. I'm sure we can all think of dozens of low-impact, non game-breaking items that would still be useful they could make into gifts/rewards. I would not shed a tear if I had my item stolen. The gift is cool.... but not *that cool.*
Bunny had the gifts stolen from both his accounts. It does seem we are the home to quite a few sight impaired players.
You can spot the NOOBs when they ask why is everyone yelling at each other in chat.

I don’t understand why people are whining about the gift being claimed in Fel. I’ve heard and read stories about this game from a long time ago where UO was like that! That putting the claimable gift is an UO way. I know it’s no longer like that but to get a statue that gives nothing I find the idea interesting. THIS was the UO you used to play. And let’s face it. You have multiple toons on multiple shards so you’ll eventually get one. So let’s be honest here, this isn’t a REAL problem.

@Arrgh I don't think at this stage in UO's life there is exactly a queue of people really desperate to take over running this game, the team we have is what we are stuck with, pretty much to the end. They don't listen and they don't care if their paying customers don't like what they're doing, it's their way or the highway.
I'm about to the point of saving myself a wad of money and just cancelling several accounts if not all of them. I have been debating closing the accounts this coming year when card goes out of date and am issued a new one. I have found several online games that do take their customers seriously. It's just sad that I've played since beta and am hating seeing the game demoralized and neglected by such an insignificant, narcissistic nasty little woman with such a poisonous attitude and no class - you know, she used to be pretty cool, if you were one of her pets - and even then she wasn't nearly as jaded as she seems to be now. Wonder what happened? I guess she has to be ancient by now, maybe she's at that age she just doesn't care anymore? I'm not sure wth is the problem with the team but at the rate things are going with the game, it doesn't look like it is going to last much longer. I've never said that before because it didn't seem that way all the times others cried and whined and said the sky was falling but when I log onto my favorite server and there are 2 people online when I log in (if I'm lucky) and then I log in to Atl and it's looking like my old server looked two or three years ago - it's heartbreaking because when the game finally does die and when I finally log off for the last time, that's going to be a huge loss after so many years of pretty much pleasant memories, sort of like losing a best friend or getting a divorce maybe. It appears they want it to die though, maybe they all just want to retire, who knows... One good thing is that I found a private server for UO, you can run it on about any computer that isn't an antique. I can't remember the name of it offhand (maybe someone here knows the name of it) but I know 3 people who have their own servers, so there's that for those of us who don't want withdrawls! I had it running once, it's very simple to use and it can be fun, I've been playing on a shard where I see no one for days anyway so it's about the same difference. =D I hope you have a very wonderful Valentine's!
PS: The personal server software is either runuo or maybe servuo if you ever want to look it up.

If you check the official forums, the responses to the one guy expressing his disappointment over his stolen gift speak volumens. At this point it's considered "interaction" to grief fellow players. UO is just a toxic mess at this point. I have plenty of memories of "interactions" with people that didn't involve griefing them or calling them stupid. We had clickies in Ilsh where I escorted noobs without stealing their gifts afterwards. Some became friends. Fun days.

I would take a companion any time of the day over a box full of stolen pixels. But that's just me. This fel + one per account is borderline griefing. It's just pixels anyway. People to have fun with can be found on literally any game. I think UO has hands down the worst community of all the games I played by now. Horribly divided. Always arguing and blaming each other over everything. Drama gallore, that's what I come back to UO for.Plus it's like @ShriNayne said, complaining or even the most well expressed constructive feedback isn't going to get you anywhere. It's their way or the highway. The highway isn't that bad.

During the Deceit event, they actually removed the potions of glorious fortune from the store. We had players on LS who were raking in the drops during that very popular event, and I know a few players who were planning to buy more - but then they removed them from the store right in the middle of the event. It made absolutely no sense. The point of the store is to generate revenue in ways that don't ruin the balance or fun of the game. Those potions were a perfect example - but they removed them anyway.
That one made no sense to me then - and still makes no sense to me now.
If memory serves correct, the potion was removed on like the second to last or last day of the event...not the middle.

How do you consider it griefing when players are quite literally playing the game as it's designed (hiding/stealth/snooping/stealing are all skills)? I simply walked around using the template as it was designed (no third party programs or scripts or cheats) to play my game. I always offered to return the property for a small fee which was typically replied to with some foul language. Some people would literally stay after I robbed them and grief me (whether it be name calling names/spamming I was there/invising everyone in an attempt to stop my stealing).
At the end of the day it was rather simple to safely obtain the statues if people would just put a little effort or thought into it (people even gave the advice in multiple threads). Making whiny post claiming VDay was anywhere close to griefing is a stretch.
Oh btw I have like 50 guardians I'd like to sell if anyone is interested! Hahaha
Congrats and well played! The truth is (what the people that complain fail to realize) there was at least 50% chance there wouldn't even be a thief there. In the event there was a thief there; between all of the other things you could do to block the thieves, there was an actual probability of maybe 5-10% that your statue would be stolen...and probably that's high. The people complaining about theirs being stolen are the ones who probably walked up and didn't bother to insure it because they don't need to in Tram..or it's the people who wanted to gather 20 of them across every shard so they could try to sell them and are mad that someone else outsmarted them.
Yes - let's be pedantic. By "right in the middle", I meant during. As in, removing an item from the store during a period in which people would want to buy it makes no sense. But way to ignore the point.
Oh ok... so you are just embellishing the heck out of the issue... acting like they removed something from the store with 3 weeks to go vs on the last day when you had plenty of time up to that point to work the event. Got it.

Removing it from the store at any time made no sense, it's not like they are obliged to only sell a certain amount of items on their own store, if they had to remove it then why not wait until there was no demand for it?
