I stayed out of the whole thing this time... I didn't build anything (I won my Keep design in the first Keep round)... I didn't look at any and I didn't vote on any... I certainly could have but I figured it wasn't something I needed to do since well I got my keep figured others who wanted something they wanted would design it and work to win... Happy for the winners to be sure.
Indeed so be it... The design that was Robins... was nice but well it wasn't something you could custom... was "finished" the way Robin wanted it finished. Personally, I did that the first round with both my Keep and Castle design... neither of which won... second time around I designed a Keep that COULD be personalized... which I have done. (sort of still working on it)... and won... Did I ask for votes you bet... Did I pay for votes... not a chance... was happy to win though...
It's obvious that the design was what some folk liked. Maybe you don't get that I don't go visiting every Castle or Keep on Every Single Account I have... and I'm sure others don't either... I myself have over a dozen accounts... Perhaps that counts into that disparity of numbers for you... Did you think about that? If I liked a design I probably would have voted for it with ALL of my accounts... not just the one that went to see it... think on that a min before you all go flying off the handle getting all bent.
LOL.... far out getting all bent? Making a comment is not 'getting all bent' as you put it. Although I remember yourself really sounding off and criticising every single persons build when you didn't get anything up in the first round. Let's not forget you coming on here in the second round extolling the greatness of number #9 which you failed to point out was your design. Of course I do not expect people to visit each entry on multiple accounts, I only visit them on ONE of mine. Hardly expect people like you do so on over a dozen accounts. What a silly thing to say.
My point was that the 'winning' keep was a total rehash with a few minor tweaks of one already there. When i visited it the first thing I thought was sheesh deja vu this is robin's nest v2 and figured the same person must of done it. I commented on that guys post above as they seemed to of had the same impression hence why I asked the question if they could confirm.
If people want to keep having a reshash of the same design so be it.
I have 3 accounts and my alliance has another 2 people in it who I ask for a vote 'IF THEY WANT' even then I have no idea if they do or not, I do not plumb for votes I will post that I have a build in and what number it is and that is the end of it. I think only one of them may of voted this last time, so the votes I got were basically from strangers.
I NEVER expect to get anything up on public vote as I just don't have the numbers and come from the smallest shard in the game. Even siege is crowded compared to Oceania. That is what is wrong with the whole way this thing is set up. It has nothing to do with design but how many accounts someone has and how big a guild or how many friends or shard following they have backing them.
I have watched the voting each time and the last two rounds the 'visits' places have actually got as confirmed by the house sign, clearly show that people are NOT actually visiting the houses. In this last round there were 389 accounts that voted in the second round, of those ONLY 55 actually visited my house so 334 didn't. Even assuming some of them had been for a look in round one there were still only a total of 131 visits for the whole competition, so either ppl aren't looking or there are a HUGE amount of multi accounts voting for their own or their buddies design, to think otherwise is just plain silly.
I prefer 2 of the devs picks this time to ANY that got the public vote. At least they were different and not rehash's.
It is just disappointing to see copies of places getting up which offer very little difference to those already selected. I built 'robins nest' as it was the closest to anything i could stand to live in on my siege keep, but as yet haven't bothered to deco it as it just doesn't suit my needs, and I seriously dislike the position of teleports and stairs and the wasted space it gives by reducing the 2nd floor foot print. However the second version of it offers not much more. So now there are two versions of the same thing.
I guess i will just keep plodding away until such time as I or someone else puts a design up that is not dark grey, does not have wasted space and has the ability to full customise the inside with walls that can tie in and match the external walls. Due to my game play and the 'uses' I have for buildings I never want a build with internal walls so will never build any that do not have the ability to customise fully. That is why anything I build will be similar to that one that I pictured.
I also NEVER expect to get in on a public vote, I doubt I ever will. I think I have been lucky to come 6th the last two rounds on the public vote given I only know where 5 votes come from. At least I know the vast majority of the votes I get are from people who actually like the designs, who I don't know and who vote based on what they like. I guess next time I won't even do it in my name, as I had one guy say they wouldn't vote as I already had a castle up. Seems it wasn't about design but who you were lol. Given my criticism of the devs recently on a lot of their proposed changes to the game I doubt I will ever get in on a dev pick again either.
Such is Life.
