You become concerned your virtual pet will go wild and poof when Comcast has a prolonged outage while you are in the middle of a fight. You reboot the modem 3 times, check the my account site which shows no outage? Same with text messaging out to xfinity...not aware of an outage!?! You go mobile onto diff provider to chat with xfinity to cofirm what you already know, there is now a reported outage in the area. They inform you no estimate on how long before service will be restored.

Ummm.... you mean everyone does not train their dog to do that? Is it just me??
They do but you wouldn't say that command IRL, it be more like "Dog's Name + Guard" or "Watch Me". Saying "All Guard Me" is straight UOUmmm.... you mean everyone does not train their dog to do that? Is it just me??

As a passenger in a car I saw a stray dog that looked alot like a hell hound.
I caught myself moving my hand using my taming hotkey combo.

A long time ago on Napa we were having soooooo many shard crash/reverts.
I was hanging the washing out on the line in winter it was bitterly cold and windy, my hands were burning and aching.
I truly did think, and meant it: I hope this saves.

when you have 9 screens, 3 computers and two laptops so you can see all of britainia at once.
when you play so well that people give you death threats.
when most of your friends and family that dont play know more about the game than those that actually play.
when you have 3 fully trained characters on every shard.
when you have over 500 contacts on icq.
when you have access to over 20 vent servers.
But most importantly...
When you know more about the game and how it works than the people running it.

Is it "just a game"? How was your life changed by UO?
Actually I yell that and 3 pit bulls and 600 pound sow materialize in front of me, waiting for the all kill command............ Kind of creeps the mail man out.
Back in my teenage years I remember passing by a small lake with a nice island in the center and thinking to myself: "When it's winter and iced over, I should skate out to the island and mark a rune, so I can recall in when it's nice and summery." Felt like a giant idiot once I realized what I was thinking.

A guild mate tells you she is naked right out of the shower, with only a towel around her and all you can picture since you never seen her in real life is her UO Paper doll. Then you know you have played UO FAR to long. It really helps that she has one of the sexy voices I have ever heard and could do voice over for foreign movies and cartoons.

i can point out a uo sound byte out of almost every movie i watch....and most game of thrones episodes lol.....

I call UO my 2nd life and the I refer to my physical life as my 1st life. UO has and will be a large part of my real life so I do not refer to it as such in-game. This fantasy-cyber life and the relationships within it are just as real as my 1st life.

The pink underlined - I could not count how many times that happens to me while creating houses and decorating...
and how many times my collegues at work (i'm working as a byer and controller - procurement - in a big german firm) looks confused by answering that company xyz has made an offer to us for 100.000 K (not Euro)

Used to drive for them a few years ago.. watched one driver wipe out 5 trucks total backing into a spot at their Decatur Ga Terminal. I was hollering at him on the radio and laying on the horn.. once I finally got the dude to stop he said he did not know I was talking to and blowing the horn at him... I was like.. man when you hit the first of the 5 trucks ya shouldda known to stop lol
I don't know how many times I've gone to bed plotting how to remodel a house or redecorate some area of a castle or keep or something...
But the one that always gave me night terrors where I'd have to log back in ... was always the "OMG did you lock that chest down!" .... or "OMG are you sure that was secure!"... And yes having to get up and check... just to be sure.
Thankfully now I work nights... so usually anymore I"m logging out just about server down... which then I'm ALWAYS double and triple checking before getting out of game.
