I don't have a full transcript but I thought I'd post some of the highlights of last night's meeting with the Dev team.

-Fey Slayer will be added to imbuing
-IDOCs are staying at 5,10,15 hours with the ability to get your house back as long as you reactivate an account with greater than two hours until it falls. (not news but Mesanna confirmed no more changes, and she won't help get houses back if you wait too long after these new changes)
-Haven teleport bug is fixed and awaiting publish
-Small publish coming for Easter
-Gold revamp, pet revamp, completion of the Virtue system and new clothing still in the works
-Mesanna mentioned late June/early July for major publish, it wasn't clear if she was talking about Pub 90 or the new expansion or if those are the same thing.
-Kyronix thinks Hot Air Balloons are "a fantastic idea!" Mesanna's wrath was swift at their mention.

-Fugly Casanova and Bob Ross challenged the devs to a 2x2 duel, Mesanna declined saying that she would just cheat.

OH Finally, can make decent fey weapon for fencing and macing now.

I still think they should allow the imbuing of Crafted Spellbooks.

A warrior can get anything they want put on their weapons... Throwers, macers, fencers, swords, and archers. Why can't mages?

Instead we have to rely on an extremely antiquated system to blow through resources that are next to impossible to get.... I can do 100 Lady M runs and not get enough Taint to make ONE scrappers. I can spend 16 hours stealing in the Exodus dungeon area trying to get keys and stuff and not get enough Taint to make a Scrappers.

And then in the Off chance you come up with enough ingredients to actually CRAFT a Scrappers the chances of you getting a "slayer" are slim to none. I've made 100's of them... and I've gotten maybe 2 slayers and even then it's something totally stupid like a water elemental slayer or a lizardman slayer.

Actually getting a "useful" slayer is nearly impossible.... top that off with the fact that Mages can't even get the slayer benefit of a Talisman and you see why we need to be able to IMBUE the freaking things.

And I heard the "argument" that Mesanna gave about if they made it something you could "Imbue" then it would put Inscribers out of business... THAT is a lie! If anything it would make it useful again because everyone would want a ton of the plain ones to imbue. Also you can't overpower them... There are "caps" on things. It wouldn't make the skill any less viable than Blacksmithing or Trailoring. You still need THOSE skills to make the base items to imbue. So you would still need Inscription to make the base item to imbue. If anything it would give the skill a boon.

If I could imbue a regular spellbook that would be fine too... But cut mages some slack and throw them a bone would ya?

I LOVE that idea. I paid A LOT of gold for my dragon slayer scrapper. Probably upwards of 1000 times what a dragon slayer weapon costs! Not 3 weeks after which, I crafted my first (and so far only) super slayer scrapper, a reptile of course. ROFL

But I would be for a turn in reward, void pool or some other system reward in the form of a special scribe pen with limited uses that assures you would roll a slayer on your book.

How would that be fair? Listen if you want to put durability on books then so be it... but there has to be some way to get a freaking slayer you NEED and want by choice like any warrior can. I don't want to go and have to gather 8000 taint just to get a useful scrappers that's not some stinking stupid snow elemental slayer and might actually be "useful".

I still think they should allow the imbuing of Crafted Spellbooks.

A warrior can get anything they want put on their weapons... Throwers, macers, fencers, swords, and archers. Why can't mages?

Instead we have to rely on an extremely antiquated system to blow through resources that are next to impossible to get.... I can do 100 Lady M runs and not get enough Taint to make ONE scrappers. I can spend 16 hours stealing in the Exodus dungeon area trying to get keys and stuff and not get enough Taint to make a Scrappers.

And then in the Off chance you come up with enough ingredients to actually CRAFT a Scrappers the chances of you getting a "slayer" are slim to none. I've made 100's of them... and I've gotten maybe 2 slayers and even then it's something totally stupid like a water elemental slayer or a lizardman slayer.

Actually getting a "useful" slayer is nearly impossible.... top that off with the fact that Mages can't even get the slayer benefit of a Talisman and you see why we need to be able to IMBUE the freaking things.

And I heard the "argument" that Mesanna gave about if they made it something you could "Imbue" then it would put Inscribers out of business... THAT is a lie! If anything it would make it useful again because everyone would want a ton of the plain ones to imbue. Also you can't overpower them... There are "caps" on things. It wouldn't make the skill any less viable than Blacksmithing or Trailoring. You still need THOSE skills to make the base items to imbue. So you would still need Inscription to make the base item to imbue. If anything it would give the skill a boon.

If I could imbue a regular spellbook that would be fine too... But cut mages some slack and throw them a bone would ya?

i agree with you about the lack of slayer books, however i dont think imbuing would be the best option. A basic slayer spellbooks with say 20 sdi would be perfect drops for bosses. Id rather see something like this revitalize old content/bosses rather than just suck up a miniscule portion of duped deed resources we have in circulation.

now i understand the track record for the devs putting useful drops on bosses is horrendous, so my hopes arent high, but slayer spellbooks with sdi would be a perfect addition. knowing how out of touch the devs are tho, they would probably end up with slayer/lrc lol.

How many crafters do you know who are ONLY a scribe? I'm fine with it as most crafters do everything. They can still make decent cash off them AFTER they are Imbued.

I'd say give us runic pen and ink and let us reforge spellbooks with one option being slayer. This would allow somewhat easier and more controlled crafting of slayer books in a way that kept inscription useful and was still random, just not as frustratingly so.

1) YES. About a week ago I was doing Oaks on my thrower, with the Garg Wind of Corruption. I lamented the fact that it was chaos damage, and that my damage on everything wasn't guaranteed - I'd do as little as 22 (their highest resist) to triple digits (their weakest resist), and I even said as much to my guildmates, that I wish it were possible to imbue Fey Slayer.
2 & 3) lol.

Another way to gain justice, eh? Interesting. Perhaps for killing monsters like Barracoon, Neira, and Brigands? But you don't gain anywhere near as much as you would for killing a player...because let's face it, if someone new to PvP decides they want to max out their Justice, the Red(s) they try to kill won't die, unless there's a group, and even then, the experience gap will make it tough. Someone new to it(or rusty) won't have the reflexes or levelheadedness needed to be able to fight someone that PvP's on a daily basis.

Me too. I've made a few non-Scrapper's Slayers, and even that's random/annoying. It's all been lesser slayers too, like scorpion, spider, Blood Elemental, etc. I won't complain obviously, since lessers are 3x damage, but I haven't made a single super slayer - the ones I do have, I've purchased. If I want to use, say, my repond or demon slayer books? I need to move them between chars, since I only have one.

I agree. 2/4/6 is more manageable. People can't sit & watch a house all day, unless they have a script running (but then, they're not truly watching it.) If the IDOC is in Fel, Reds will be there, and we will use AoE spells like EQ to kill the hiding players. I know, for myself anyway, that the possible loot I'd get* is secondary to the fighting that will take place, which is why I tend to ignore Tram IDOCs.

*During my brief stay on Atl, I ran across an IDOC near Ice Dungeon. I grabbed a backpack full of 120's. I could have sold them, sure (especially the magery & resist scrolls), but I decided to use them for myself, to make characters on other servers (though suiting them up is somewhat of an issue...)

Facebook is Evil. I refuse to use it. I'll never have a Facebook account. Nothing angers me more than companies that use Facebook... Greedy crap... Yes it's "free" advertising... but at a HUGE cost. Facebook is responsible for so many ills in the world. Loss of Jobs, getting folk killed, molested, and many other things... It's easily abused and has destroyed families, ruined marriages, all sorts of things... Yet folk promote it like it's this wonderful thing. When seriously it's a tool for psychopaths to invade your life... it's a tool for those that own it to sell everything about you to anyone and everyone with ZERO regard to who's using it or what they are using it for.

I find it disgusting and disturbing. And I refuse to use it or promote it. I can not understand why anyone would. I hear folk say all the time it's a way for friends and family to stay connected... but seriously there are better ways that are far more secure...

Did you know that everytime you post a picture to Facebook from your phone it posts the location of where that picture was taken??? And sick people can use that to know exactly where you go. They can track your CHILD to where they play, what school they go to and much more. It's sickening. Yet folk promote it like it's the most wonderful amazing thing. If you don't believe me there was a Dateline special about it.

And people make it easier and easier for others to get information about you that you seriously don't want them to have.

Actually the turn in sorcerers suit and such isn't really that horrible as a "cheap" suit. And if you have old gifty crap on other shards it doesn't take that much to get it.

And people make it easier and easier for others to get information about you that you seriously don't want them to have.

I keep mine open due to laziness, but you're right. Outside of the "Happy Birthday" posts (which I often "forget" to do, unless I like the person/feel like it) or the rare "How are you" type messages, I very rarely do anything on it. If I do post any pics, I do so on Instagram; IG probably isn't much better, but I post maybe 2-3 pics a year on that. I don't have my location set on it, but all of my pics are taken at the local ballpark (Yankees minor league affiliate, their AAA team.)

That aside, all of the people I knew in HS & college? I don't talk to them at all on there. There's no reason for me to have it. I did run into one of my friends from college @ the aforementioned stadium last summer, but other than that, I don't see any of them, nor do I care enough to make the effort, since it's been so long since we last talked.

One of the many reasons I will never have an iPhone/smartphone...the pictures I take on my cheap pay as you go phone go onto a mini sd card which then comes out of my phone and into my computer..I HAVE FOILED THE SYSTEM!

I do agree, however, that there are still many people in this world that refuse to use facebook, so for them to limit the EM's that way is just stupid in my opinion.

That was my question, and I wanted to inquire further just what kind of scams were possible because of a guild title but I didn't want to argue or waste more time with it. It seems like something that goes 'back to the beginning' could possibly be re-evaluated a decade later, since guild titles appear differently than they did before AoS. Ah well. Not really a big deal.

As for the Facebook thing, I also do not think that's a big deal. Like she said, it's an additional option. The new website is supposed to feature a calender that will show EM events, unless I am misunderstanding what was said, so hopefully that will work well and us non-facebookers can just use the UO website.

Its not that I am afraid of being tracked or counted. I REFUSE to use Facebook as and in protest to what they do and I stand by my convictions. Personally, I think Facebook has reduced the danger to children in some ways. For example, the creepy people can just look at the kids Facebook page instead of having to actually find them in person to see them. Although stalking kids on Facebook is still very creepy, the child is not in any danger because of it unless the person then wants to find them in person. If Facebook did not exist, the creepy person would be forced to find the child in real life to see them, which would then greatly increase the chances of something dangerous happening because the creepy person is so close to them and may not be able to control themselves.

As for Facebook destroying marriages....no it doesn't.....people have always cheated in relationships since the beginning of time, the only difference is Facebook causes them to get caught a couple years sooner. They would still be cheating in their relationship, and they would still get caught eventually whether Facebook was involved or not.

Are the companies who make medicine "evil" because people sometimes use that medicine to overdose and kill themselves? No, of course not.

Is Facebook evil because some people use it to harm others, no of course not. Just like every other company on the planet, they are providing a service. If people abuse that service or use it in a way that it was not intended to be used it doesn't mean the company should be blamed for what the person who abused their product did.

If people post too much about their lives on Facebook, that's their own fault. It's pretty simple, if someone doesn't want their information and pictures to be looked at....then just don't post the information or pictures. Facebook doesn't force people to post their information online for everyone to see....the people do that voluntarily.

There are far better ways for predators to "lure their victims". If you have a good parenting Facebook is a non-issue. There are privacy settings. No one can see anything you don't want them to see. By my use of "Facebook" I'm talking about the Company and those who run it.... PEOPLE... People who created it... People who run it. I'm not referring to the webpage... as that is a bunch of code... code which is NOT as secure as you think it is.

Facebook is something created to make money... to gather information about you and sell it. To target market crap to you... taking away jobs from folk ... And as far as I'm concerned those that run Facebook have little to NO regard for the safety of anyone using it.
