have all the items from IDOC go to random places in 1 random dungeon. just like the items from trash can go to that lost items cavern (ratmen)

Have all items go *poof* and disappear forever. There is already more than enough gold and items in the game already and anything of value is most likely a result of duping anyway, either directly or bought from a rares or gold seller.

Some people still won't be happy when they are one of the last 500 players left and have trillions of gold. Just let idocs vanish.

500 players? I suspect we are much closer to that number NOW than anybody could ever imagine! A scary thought to be sure. FYI, I wish we could somewhere get a "real" number of ACTIVE accounts, but I think most people would be very sad.

The bulk of the accs is probably people that do not play but still pay to keep theire house and people with multiple accs so they can have more houses

I agree Herman, probably people who have 1 active account, and 5 more they pay for via "housing roulette".

I have 10 accounts and have NEVER played the housing "roulette" game... If I lost a house I would be devastated. I think I'd have to quit. But yes I know folk who do it...

Make Magincia housing system. One goldsink for chance for temporary private ability to enter collapsed plot for looting. Another goldsink to get temporary private ability to place new plot few hours later after looting phase.

Or we could just go back to the system we had for the last 13 years or so. Let idoc's have some predictability in their decay cycle. In fact, you can even post the countdown on the house sign. Then, take 'young status' and either:

A: Completely do away with it.
or
B: Disallow them from placing houses.

Then, allow advisors to check on players to see if they are unattended or not... Jail as necessary. Lets the devs review each instance to ensure checks and balances are made to prevent abuse on the part of the advisor(s).

This will to an extant bring back one of the most entertaining aspects of the game, it will reduce the stress of not knowing if you have to wait only 5 hours, or upto 20 hours so that people won't be afraid to eat their dinner, take their showers and call their mothers to wish them happy birthday.

This also protects the house owner as they will have a clear definition to go by as to when their house falls and allows no advantage or disadvantge over the ability to reactivate and refresh their homes.

Trammel IDOCS will be players standing around, shooting the bird.

Felucca IDOCS will be massive pvp... Which by the way is ten times more fun than VvV.

I would add one slight addition to your list... Once the house enters IDOC stage it should go completely private to all be the owners account. This could help prevent at least some of the rampant scripting by players of items within the house.

Young players already can't place.houses.

Stress? if your stressing over a house drop.its time to quit.. you can't wait 5-20 hours for idoc loot... but hunting for 20 hours for a nice drop is any different? also food and showers and talking to mom are over rated. and players can be protected.. its called paying 12 bucks.

Trammel houses are already a great place to shoot the bull.. always meet some good people.. and if course share stories and swap runes with the regulars.

Fel houses are already massive pvp ... and the amount of pvp action only depends upon the public knowing WHERE the idoc is.. not the drop time. Battles last longer now being random.. 5-20 hours of pvp rather then a quick battle at the drop. Find a idoc in fel and gate players and advertise it.. there is a huge battle everytime.

I tend to stay out of these type conversations since they tend to stray from the true topic at hand but I want to mention a thought that has been on my mind for a while that pertains to this.

There will not be that significant a change to the new player status just because it offers the chance of a new or returning player to experience many facets of the game.

I think the IDOC system should get revamped to where they do not show what stage/cycle the house is in that is IDOC. The sign just shows IDOC.

The timing of the house falling shifts between a random time of 3 to 7 days to help deter scripters.

Just a thought of a scripter to actually have their newbie accounts sit at a house for days instead of hours might make them rethink messing with IDOCs anymore. The headache of having to have all those accounts up and running on multiple computers for days on end sitting on a random timer would drive the most sane insane at some point.

Then you get back to the good old days of randomness when running around the game and coming across a ton of items laying on the ground from an IDOC house falling was a pretty exciting experience.

How about the state of decay shows to the owner only.

That way when a house falls it just happens and its good fortune to anyone who comes across it. No scripters, no bots, just pure chance and good luck for anyone who finds one.

Dont even show it as IDOC. Scripters will still camp it and set up bots daily at server up and still get the spoils. Make it totally invisible to anyone but the owner that the house is even in decay. You cant script it if you dont know the house is even IDOC.

If someone wanted a rule set where Idocs fall unattended with no one to loot them especially with the reduced item decay rate... this one would surely be the choice.

Well that's the problem isn't it. The vultures want the loot.
