500 players? I suspect we are much closer to that number NOW than anybody could ever imagine! A scary thought to be sure. FYI, I wish we could somewhere get a "real" number of ACTIVE accounts, but I think most people would be very sad.Have all items go *poof* and disappear forever. There is already more than enough gold and items in the game already and anything of value is most likely a result of duping anyway, either directly or bought from a rares or gold seller.
Some people still won't be happy when they are one of the last 500 players left and have trillions of gold. Just let idocs vanish.
The bulk of the accs is probably people that do not play but still pay to keep theire house and people with multiple accs so they can have more houses500 players? I agree Herman, probably people who have 1 active account, and 5 more they pay for via "housing roulette".The bulk of the accs is probably people that do not play but still pay to keep theire house and people with multiple accs so they can have more houses
I have 10 accounts and have NEVER played the housing "roulette" game... If I lost a house I would be devastated. I think I'd have to quit. But yes I know folk who do it...I agree Herman, probably people who have 1 active account, and 5 more they pay for via "housing roulette".
I would add one slight addition to your list... Once the house enters IDOC stage it should go completely private to all be the owners account. This could help prevent at least some of the rampant scripting by players of items within the house.Or we could just go back to the system we had for the last 13 years or so. Let idoc's have some predictability in their decay cycle. In fact, you can even post the countdown on the house sign. Then, take 'young status' and either:
A: Completely do away with it.
or
B: Disallow them from placing houses.
Then, allow advisors to check on players to see if they are unattended or not... Jail as necessary. Lets the devs review each instance to ensure checks and balances are made to prevent abuse on the part of the advisor(s).
This will to an extant bring back one of the most entertaining aspects of the game, it will reduce the stress of not knowing if you have to wait only 5 hours, or upto 20 hours so that people won't be afraid to eat their dinner, take their showers and call their mothers to wish them happy birthday.
This also protects the house owner as they will have a clear definition to go by as to when their house falls and allows no advantage or disadvantge over the ability to reactivate and refresh their homes.
Trammel IDOCS will be players standing around, shooting the bird.
Felucca IDOCS will be massive pvp... Which by the way is ten times more fun than VvV.

If someone wanted a rule set where Idocs fall unattended with no one to loot them especially with the reduced item decay rate... this one would surely be the choice.Dont even show it as IDOC. Scripters will still camp it and set up bots daily at server up and still get the spoils. Make it totally invisible to anyone but the owner that the house is even in decay. You cant script it if you dont know the house is even IDOC.
Well that's the problem isn't it. The vultures want the loot.If someone wanted a rule set where Idocs fall unattended with no one to loot them especially with the reduced item decay rate... this one would surely be the choice.
