OK I know there aren't many thieves left in the game and the template... well has gotten bad. But, now that items have increased in weight I have even less to steal. What gives with cuffing our hands even more, just because we are thieves. What do you want me to steal, a single petal... who carries one petal... they are always stacked.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most of the full time thieves left in the game try to only steal rares and other valuable things like slithers? I haven't heard of a thief stealing an armor piece or weapon in ages. (Other than Minax artifacts)

From their guildmates backpacks right after a Medusa hunt, or out of someone's backpack after they uninsure it to put on a vendor. I've seen it happen tons of times

I play a pvp thief! Mostly I get random things like hair dyes. A lot of people forget to insure hair dye for some reason....
Single most fun I've had in the game. Wish I had made a thief years and years ago.

I have to admit that stealing greater cure potions is quite entertaining. Also don't forget the art of telling your victim how sloppy their backpack is.

To be fair, most of the infamous Atlantic thieves also had/have well known and trusted characters to. People just never figured out who some of them are. As long as the infamous thief doesn't break the rules I don't really have a problem with it. If they do break the rules, well, obviously the devs will be watching all the Advisors intently and fire them if they break any rules.

Details on the heist of the Pacific 2010 rares fest auction are now hard to find, as most of the threads are now incomplete or unavailable. It was an interesting look at "persuasion theft" vs outright scamming and was an ugly hour for many players. This huge theft was carried out with minimal use of in game mechanics or skill, but a rather serious amount of manipulation of other players and a capitalization of opportunities.

For the sake of full disclosure, I did end up purchasing a unique item from someone later on that was stolen in this heist.

Congrats to him? *Doh* Good people quit the game because of him. He lied and stole from community members that QUIT playing.
We really need more older members leaving the game to make room for the ton of new players drawn in by UO/EA's media blitz campaign.

Can't say I blame Broadsword/EA or anyone really because trash like him FLOOD in like a tsunami surge whenever the game asks for help
filling positions. They'll lie yet again to get where they want and there is really no kind of background check that can be done. Its just a matter
of time before hes fired due to giving out information, items, or whatever to his friends or his own player account for his own benefit.

You can lie about being garbage but over time, you cant hid your rancid stench.

Not going to argue on what he did. But if you get to know him he is a good person. He played a thief and took the role very seriously. I do not believe he will do anything with ill intention as an advisor. But only time will tell. Hopefully the dev team has a good way of keeping track of whatever advisors do to prevent such things from happening.

I agree completely with Zerbee, Yes, he is/was a thief, and yes he was pretty cruel at times, I don't support his hobby of robbing people, but if you ever talked to him while he was on another character, or even on his thief character while he was taking a break from stealing, he was a really nice guy. When one of my guild members got robbed he found me the next day, and offerred to try stealing back what had been taken from my guildie. Sure enough, the next week he came back and gave my guildie the item that had been taken, plus 2 more items valued at about 50m each taken from the other thief completely free.

He didn't steal for the gold or pixels, he did/does it just because it's fun for him.

Also, He is still on Stratics Zerbee, he just has a different account now. It's named "The Predator" or something I think.
