Honesty Virtue : does it grant discount (as it should...) when purchasing for gold from the Library?

The Honesty Virtue grants a discount (I believe 30% when Knight ?) when purchasing items from NPCs.

Since items from the Britain Library Collection http://www.uoguide.com/Britain_Library_Collection can be obtained giving gold (i.e. purchasing them....), does one get any benefit from having the Honesty Virtue ?

For example, Mace and Shield Reading Glasses need 800,000 points to get. Gold gains 1 point per 15 gold so, to purchase the Mace and Shield Reading Glasses one would need 12,000,000 gold (15 x 800,000). With the Honesty Virtue, this should be reduced of about 1/3 down to about 8 millions gold.

Is that so ? Did anyone having the Honesty Virtue try it ?

When I claimed my Folded Steel reading glasses last year on a character that is a Follower of Honesty, no extra point value was added to the gold checks I was turning in.

It would seem that if one isn't directly purchasing the items to be turned in, Honesty Virtue had no benefit at the Britain Public Library.

@popps You DONATE gold and items to the Library. You PURCHASE items from NPC vendors.

I do not see the difference, in the end I give gold and receive an item.....

Whatever, I think the Honesty virtue should rightfully grant its discount also with the Britain Library Collection...

It is a very time consuming upkeep and I hardly see much of a point of investing so much time for a few thousands' discounts....... when it comes to "purchasing" Britain Library Collection items this Virtue could show all of its shine and potential.......

It could be because of the way it has been coded..... but this does not mean that this Virtue shouldn't also grant a discount (or extra points) when dealing with the British Library Collection had it been coded differently........

There is still time to upgrade it and make it also valid for a discount with the British Library Collection....

The Honesty Virtue is one of the more difficult ones to raise.

The most use i can think of for the Honesty virtue, is if you buy gems from Jewelers/Vagabonds for your imbuing.

The Honesty Virtue which "saves up" gold to players a gold sink ??

Hmmmm, yes, right..........

But even if, what would be a better gold sink then granting the discount when "buying" from the Britain Library Collection ?

I may not want to buy an item for 12 millions gold but for 8 (after applying the Honesty Virtue discount) I could be tempted...... THEN it would work as a better gold sink, IMHO.

He meant the Brit Library items were meant as a gold sink.

The Brit Library stuff is considered donations. You are donating to the library, and in return you get rewards. You are not buying, per se. Even the token you get which allows you to participate in the library stuff says, "allows Donation To Be Made".

Honesty discount doesn't apply to the library and I doubt it ever will considering it is a donation. If it is changed from donation to purchase, I believe it defeats the purpose.
