Well they did say they were Halloween costumes and Halloween is over. The question is, were they Halloween costumes or were they introduced to satisfy what I suspect will be a minute minority?.
Unfortunately we are not a democracy so altho this vote will demonstrate that the majority of players do NOT like the change the few will prevail over the many.
However if they changed them because a few complained perhaps they will change them back if enough people complain about the change.

They were introduced to satisfy a whiney minority. Someone in the old thread about the art change said they had talked to a dev or an EM about it in game, and they said it was changed because people complained about it, and it wasn't changing back.
Halloween is over, and they still have the new art.
The minute minority stuck with the artwork are those unique moongate guide spawners. I use unique being most of the other words for them get blanked out. Not going back in retirement mode so I can acheive goals of the extreemly lucky or scripters.
The artwork should of been slapped on the scepter of exceptional quality. Little imbuing and go out and smack things with them. A Kronix Head on a Spike imbued with undead slayer would have made next years Holloween wait that much harder. The way EA goes through employees a change for next years artwork is only natural.

If they can change it once, they can change it back, the votes above speak for themselves. If you don't like the artwork ................. don't bother having the item. The majority loved it the way they were, now they are just clown like.
Similar to the Christmas tree options. Perhaps the devs can simply implement this idea. This can appease both parties.

I refuse to display any of them the way they are now. Its just silly looking now and childish.
If they really gave into a complaint that they were too gorey then I have really lost faith in this game and society. In these days I know 5-7 year olds playing gears of war (u can chainsaw people basically in half! Lots of blood!) If someone really complained then they should not be playing this game at all. I mean you can kill anything in game dogs, cats, people (things we shouldn't be killing or promoting to kill, god forbid someone does it in game here and thinks its ok in real life..give me a break!....lol)
A dev or someone needs to clarify what happened here or if there are any plans to change them back. I and many other would love to know.

Yeah I am the same, they are just sitting in a box now not on display, they look like something out of Scooby Doo now. I put some serous hours in to collect these and then they ruin them, I am so disappointed.
Bearing in mind the number of views it is a pity more people haven't voted, however a ratio of 45 - 1 of those who have is a pretty clear indication of what EA's customers would like in this case. Yet nothing has happened or probably will. Yet another example of 'Who cares what the peasants want?. They shall have what they have been given, and like it.'

Yeah Mesanna just gives us lip service, She says she will listen to what we want then goes off and does her own thing anyway. Best of all they just let us go on in silence.
I am trying to begin this post with manners. I might succeed. The heads depicted real people in great pain. Great UO art? I think so. Disturbing to some, not to others. The heads depict made up creatures in great pain. No one seems to be disturbed so far. Great UO art? I think so.

acutally from a poll point of view 600+ looks 46 responses mean most people dont care -- there is no clear win here for the change side I dont care which graphic is used but if the dev's want their name to an item they should pick the artwork -- should they have changed because a few complained maybe... maybe not... but it is still their choice.
It is infinitely depressing how one of the precious few cases of getting original pretty freaking well done (and idd disgusting!) artwork resulted in few members of community ensuring destruction and removal of this artwork. I hope getting rid of the original heads brought some warm feeling of satisfaction to the small handful of people complaining about them to god knows where. It must bring some sense of achievement to almost single handedly manage removal of something as rare as brand new, great looking original art from UO. It's like being an anti-developer!

I am deeply religous member of flat earth society and belive Great Britain, England or British Isles do not exist. - They would fall from earth and in to space if they existed on this alleged " other side" of this alleged " globe"
It is insulting and cofusing to my daughter that city named Britain is present. I expect it to be removed during next publish or I'll start making phonecalls.Ty.

Incidentally, since the theory that the Earth is flat originated in Europe, it is logical that Great Britain does, in fact, exist and America is therefore a figment of your imagination. Of course I would lean towards that interpretation, I'm English.
I'm inclined to think that Lexfixr has correctly summed up the value of this thread. Incidentally, no one has actually stated that the artwork was changed in response to complaints, that's just the assumption made by those who dislike the change.
