tina is right but some of the barrels dont need lp if you stand there long enough the odds are you can fill a spell book in a bit
Try getting spellweaving scrolls No scribe can help you there. Existing search engines, however...A friend has that information but doesn't post so I will ask her about it. It is written somewhere in the Rules of Conduct.
I know advertising outside websites that sell in-game items is not allowed.
We need a search engine in the game. That's for sure. Or we need to get rid of LUNA CITY where the prices are so high and fixed .. I can't believe anyone who seriously plays UO can afford to buy anything they need. I can't even find spell scrolls above 5th level like MARK AND GATE for sale on Atlantic or GL - at least ones I can afford with my small pitance as a new player so my spell book isn't full yet. * will have to make my own scribe or I know there are decent players on all shards who would help me but I don't like asking. I prefer to find a way to do things myself to enjoy the feeling of accomplishment * :loser:
Ok real life takes over now. (*waves* - enjoy everyone - have a good day/night/morning/...)
I referred to the post I was replying to, and the attitude it represented.
My only stance on the vendor searches is that I'm looking forward to the official one, and think that the unofficial ones will still survive the transition.
And my only stance on real money transitions is that (I think??) they are against the rules. (Or am I misinterpreting things again? I know that once they explicitly were allowed, but then I thought for some reason they explicitly were disallowed?)

Yes Jolvan, I guarantee he investigated it alright, right into the TBNT file, Thanks But No Thanks. Jolvan is well...................USELESS Every-time I get him as a GM I strait up tell him to cancel my request and ill page on the next shift.
Does Galen even regularly play the game anymore? Just wondering.I know Goldberg didnt mean it that he would delibertly do such a thing and jeopardize his account...
Even spoofing the books can be mistaken as doing it for real and if any correct player turned him in for dropping the books .............well he should know better.
Galen he is just in a mean spirited mood of late... let it go sugar.
We all know the outside money makers have dragged the game down... I would go so far as to state they meaning the companys hustling the game items to others in game have made the enviroment in UO harder for alot of younger and returning players. How can you compete with the glut of gold? Castles going for over a billion gold... suits and event items costing more then the whole gold that was in the game for the first 3 years of play....
I cant condone their spoiling of the game. Im sorry. Players who trade/sell between players gold and items is one thing, the bit is they are in the game paying and playing and not just a parasite working the game to make a living. There is a difference.
I knew when that first guy told EA way back in the beginning that he was goingto continue to make real money off their stupidity.. EA well...................... we all know that outcome.
It was never stated that it was allowed/DISallowed in the TOS persay back in the day and while EA knew about it they just over looked it. It wasn't until , I think it was Sony that sued and won that it was DISallowed, this was the reason EBay stopped it, TY Sony. Closing the door on the barn after so long of a time hurt UO so much that, sorry to say this, that (IMHO) EA can not afford to ban or go after these sites without looking at shutting down UO for good. UO is about Good/Evil and this is THE EVIL we have allowed to fester and until we get new players in learn to live with it.And my only stance on real money transitions is that (I think??) they are against the rules. (Or am I misinterpreting things again? I know that once they explicitly were allowed, but then I thought for some reason they explicitly were disallowed?)

Exactly... so many of the things that new players need have become impossible for new players to find, much less buy - which is why I'm sticking around to see what happens to UO once the Vendor Search is finally implemented..... We need a search engine in the game. That's for sure. Or we need to get rid of LUNA CITY where the prices are so high and fixed .. That I can help you with. Take a positive karma character to Despise upper level and look in the barrels that are scattered throughout the level. They are not locked or trapped and they have spells in them right up to level 8s. No stealing skill requiredI can't even find spell scrolls above 5th level like MARK AND GATE for sale on Atlantic or GL - at least ones I can afford with my small pitance as a new player so my spell book isn't full yet. * will have to make my own scribe or I know there are decent players on all shards who would help me but I don't like asking. How can it be possible that I have played in Despise for so many years and never knew this???That I can help you with. Take a positive karma character to Despise upper level and look in the barrels that are scattered throughout the level. Right on, cdavbar. Seems to be so.Yes Jolvan, I guarantee he investigated it alright, right into the TBNT file, Thanks But No Thanks. Jolvan is well...................USELESS Every-time I get him as a GM I strait up tell him to cancel my request and ill page on the next shift.
Ah thanks. Now I know why I haven't seen the scrolls in those barrels and chests. I never made a lock-pick. TM used to do that for me when I got the Paragon Greater Dragon Chests on Sonoma... hmm.. I need a warrior/lockpick/stealther on Atlantic? The barrels and crates in Despise are a good place to check for spell scrolls. You'll need about 50-60ish lockpicking to pick the locks. Unlock spell might work too, but I've never tried it. Also, there are a lot of low-level monsters that drop spell scrolls. You can find other options by going to the Advanced Search page for the Hunter's Guide on Stratics and putting the word "scroll" in the Loot field for your search parameter.
Right, you can reach right into the barrels in Despise and take stuff out without needing stealing skill. Unfortunately, some of the barrels are located behind other objects, and all you can do is drool over the spell scroll inside that you desperately need but cannot remove. The Despise crates, on the other hand, have to be unlocked somehow and traps removed from them (unless you're willing to just reach in and remove stuff and take the damage from the trap). Again, some of the crates are located behind other objects and that prevents you from removing the items that spawned in them.hmm, unless it varies from shard to shard, while the crates are locked and trapped, the barrels are not - in Tram at least, on Europa.
I know I'm right on that, because I was emptying them only yesterday.
It is that hard to start your computer each morning and then hit "start data mining script"?An in game search will help all players, esp. those of us that abuse those sites by using thier hard work but never buying from them.
I have a rune to your shop and it is wonderul to know you are there! Thanks Rachel!Or.....you can stop at my shop on Atlantic. I always carry level 4 thru 8 spell scrolls on the vendors. It's in the swamps of Trinsic. Come out of the gate and go south...ish..lol
Coordinates are on my sig, or runes can be found at Goodman's in one of the vendor books there.
.......So .. a-hunting for scrolls I go today, ho ho ho !!
