I have not carefully read all of the foregoing posts. But I take exception to the comment that Siege players never leave their houses except for events. Indeed, I know players who do not even run stealth who are out and about every day.
As to the rest of the conversation here, I will say that I agree with Blind Otto's posts.
But I also know that the reason there are no guards is because the shard population is too low. Too many of those old guards have left for other games or are swamped with rl concerns (*tips hat to Otto*). What *does* it take to get the PvM community to run guards at events? I know that GIL's contingent is led by Morgan Ironfist (a well-known fact) - but getting enough "guards" on at the same time has been a huge issue (also a known fact). When I first came to Siege, I had decided that I would try my hand at some PvP but I failed miserably. First, I couldn't even get my attacks through my opponents' faction armor. Then, my defenses were weak when I was caught. And of course, there were never enough others on at the same time I was to be able to help. I am still building skills on my 5 characters, and I am still willing to learn PvP. And I miss Righty.
Quite personally, I would LOVE to see a guild such as KSS resurrected! WE NEED KNIGHTS! Now, as far as KSS itself goes, I do know the rl reasons behind why it has faded. But there is no reason that someone else could not build a guild whose honor and glory lay in protecting Siege players.
*throws down gauntlet* I hereby challenge the fighters of Siege to consider their ways and allegiances - is there not a group willing to play the "knights in shining armor"? Even the "black knights" historically protected their own young . . . .
*eyes townsfolk placing kindling around the box she is standing on - gets off of soapbox*
Otherwise, I had a great interview with Sprago over the weekend and sometime this week I hope to get that interview in proper form to post up.
You may now carry on with your regularly scheduled programming. . . .
