You'll be putting it away safe in the bank probably? Because most of us wear a robe that has some kind of property on it?

At least that's why I play and pay, and count myself lucky because it's way less expensive than a night at the cinema or any other form of entertainment I can think of.

Congrats to you all that took the time attend the celebration, you desererve the Pixel recognition! I've been playing 12 years now and lived within 20 miles of Fairfax for a decade, but never bothered to attend an UO event - you all deserve the robes

From a marketing standpoint, all those who made the EA event are fairly dedicated to the game, may have access to media from the event, and could/will promote the game based on the experience of the event. Free stuff is always a PR goal because free stuff encourages positive reviews.

EA announced the party on August 14, 2012. Players had a month and a half to plan things out, and let me tell you, there was definitely room for more players. Well, seemingly (there was enough cake to feed an army). If everyone came in costume I'm not sure if there would have been enough cloth maps...hm.

Anyway, I can understand why players would be upset about the Memorable Moment contest, but EA never stated exclusivity. Likewise, I doubt EA will prevent players from obtaining the robe--perhaps in an non-blessed state, I'm not sure--through normal means, perhaps through a quest or the like? Not sure.

You know what, just bring back the Conjurer's Garb and I'll be happy. I wouldn't use the anniversary robe anyway as it has no mods.

There will be a "new peerless style encounter" in which you get to fight boss that will have a chance to drop Event Item replicas. Mesanna and the gang are listening.

So this is ok for me too, people who attended at the "show" got this...its a normal marketing package

In the end, i would be happy to see it at least buyable at the origin store plus alot of other collectibles that should have been or should be produced for this moment
Pins, different T-Shrits, Stickers, Coffe-Cup, Mouse-Pad, etc..

And also add all the Japanese only items to the worldwide Origin Stores too..

What i now know for sure, there is no real marketing expert responsible for the UO side at Mythic/Bioware/EA - since i do alot of this stuff in my job, i know a little bit about it, AT LEAST IT SEEMS LIKE there is noone doing this 24/7 as his main job...

I can only hope, this is going to change soon - as far as i was able to evaluate through the live stream, it was a medium attended town hall meeting, soso well organized but in MY opinion,
not very professional - i would be interrested how much budget the marketing divison UO side has been given to organize this. Not much i can say, for sure..

The problem is, if you show off this kind of a semi/pro town hall and 15th anniversary meeting, alot of people might also think this is only some kind of semi/pro game - if you know what i mean - the less recources (manpower, marketing, money) you show off you putted into this (and it was not much, it was CUTE but not professional) the less people will get attracted by it.

IMO you missed a huge possibility here, to show UO got another 15 years because EA/Mythic/Bioware is 100% behind it; producerwise, moneywise, marketingwise...
You shoulda have gotten alot of money for make this a professional event - all i could see on the internet was bad quality live streaming and bad sound, a small wall and a poor Mesanna jumping
around on stage trying to make people WOHOOO and OOOHHHHH most of the time - and a guy wearing pink wings.........................................Investment into marketing is a huge thing when it comes to get the little extra money...and here again you missed to do this little extra money...all this items woulda have been sold on the origin store...you woulda have made 1k $ in a week only with items 2,99 to 9,99 $ in the store...

Maybe you shoulda talk to G.Lukas about marketing - SW has been called a "joke" back in the 70's and we all should know his story of grabing the marketing rights and how he got rich by bringing out TOYS of it - well UO tried it one time with LBR toys but it wasnt promoted good enough too - Scott's toys are awesome but died the semi/pro marketing-style as we all know hehe

If you are looking for a marketing guy for the UO Team, let me know - but i would have to work from central europe - and i am pretty cheap to have

Took part in all the hide and seek games (even the debacle where Frodo and Mysphar (spelling) had to leave brit to cast a pet game ..

I think it is fair that everyone who went to the expense of attending the celebration gets a robe to mark the occasion. I don't think the robe should be some kind of regular drop. It is a special item to mark a special occasion.

And it's a robe anyway. I just want a special dress. =P

Only really fair for Americans. I just wish sometime those of us in other parts of the world could have 'exclusive' events as well.

Oooh, this is the sort of info I'd like to hear from the event. What else did they say about said peerless encounter. When will it be unveiled? I was at the HS announcement townhall and there was tons of great info passed on by the developers. Now that I live in CA instead of VA I couldn't make this one. It's tidbits of info like this that I think the community would like to hear about from those that were able to attend. Thanks for the info, GvP.

They stated the same dude that was killed to get the Scroll of Valiant Commendation (Exodus??) will be back. He will be easier and still have a chance to drop the scroll as a replica. They stated it will be something for us to do over Christmas

I think maybe my sound was a little better than some. As far as I remember the peerless will be one source of the +5stat, but there will be other sources, including one for crafters, the peerless will also drop replica items, but we don't yet know what. I *think* the peerless is Exodus, or his ghost, but I'm not too clear on that.
Halloween, if I heard right, we can find our won, named, skeletons in graveyards, killing them gives bones with your name, with a rare chance of them being hued.

I perfer the cheeper then a bass boat or golf cart payment thinking. If I need mind numbing after a hard days work freecell can be just as deverting. Just after three days of freecell I remember I need to log in and refresh my boat. And what tweeks me is they have no clue about the game as always. The robe should of been title "Fairfax Silk Robe 2012" subtitle "Commemorating 15th Anniversary" This robe no matter the title will make a player stand out in a way that has not been seen since the polar bear eth. What is going to happen at the next gathering? Besides the early bird seat holders selling their seat to a limited function. And then no bling for those that attended but a coffe mug (non pixel type are worth less)

They said the "Ghost of Exodus", and that he'd still be strong, but not quite as badass as he was for the event.

The 15 year vet rewards looked cool (They showed us but didn't say what it did) Plus there are a few other cool rewards getting added at different stages of the vet cycle

I'm not sure if this is true or not ( i didn't attend the party) but I've heard people saying that these robes will somehow be available for the rest. I've heard this from some who went to the party. Is this true?

I doubt they will become a drop or be given out too readily. I guess if they were going to do that, then it would have happened already. They might become available through other means, like competitions or the likes.

People say this about the 720 skill cap, vet rewards, EM items, sever births etc etc. You are not entitled to anything and that is the end of it. We all had the same chance to attend, those that did got something, those that didn't, including myself still got the 15th year bags. EM items are the same, they announce the events and everyone gets a shot, if you don't/can't attend, too bad, pull on your big boy pants and get ready for the next event.

Vet rewards, especially the shard shield get the same rap, no one stopped you from playing all those years ago, your circumstances might have, but you cannot blame other players for that.

It is just a decretive item, an attractive one I will admit, but it gives you no advantage. All the complainers need to get some perspective and realise what you are complaining about, then again if not having an item in a game is the biggest worry you have and thus feel the need to complain and cry about it, then I envy you.

While I agree with you on just about everything, but when it comes to the 720 skill cap I have to disagree. It will definitely leave a bad taste in possible new player's mouth when when they decide to spend the time and money to give this game a chance and find out that they are at an disadvantage right from the start when it comes to basic character skill building. Experienced UO players can mitigate this issue with imbuing knowledge but you can not really expect a new player to be able to cope with that. I would rather they just do away with the 720 skill issue once and for all and not risk new players rage quit over this.
