Griefing has been over the years used by many in UO, generaly GM's will not do much to help you. But if it crosses into Harrassment.... then they can step in.
Griefing and harrassment are two different things, and I think you got them mixed up. Griefing is where a person or group kill or take things that others are after sometimes to the other partys upset as its before they can... its general not aimed at any one person. Harrassment is where its deliberate and aimed at one person or group over and over. Its where you are being singled out.

They could be confused, but maye they arent. I am not saying you didnt get that email. Thankfully the human race has been here for awhile and we have something called History. Lemme relate your one time 15 year old letter about Griefing to something like Slavery. You know back in Roman days it was legal to own a slave. Now it isnt.

Yes, it will teleport just one player down, it has happened to me several times. I clear the lower level for hearts when it happens so I am certain no one else was there and just lost.

It wasn't your fault; they'll will aggro by default not because of them being grey, but because they have opposing Karma, and AI creatures have always fought due to that mechanic. It's also why you'll see potential pets at above Level 1, as they'll automatically fight any opposing creatures on their level. Furthermore, if someone is Karma flipping to get to L15 (which there's an incentive to do so, to ensure you get taken in Call To Arms, and can do the most damage to top that artifact roll table) you'll get aggressive player mobs of both Karma types on both levels. Thus if theirs is on aggressive, there's very little you can do or anywhere you can go to avoid it.

As you play Europa too, you will have perhaps have seen tonight's rather sad spectacle of a group of players trying to keep the cold winds of self realisation away by bragging in General Chat how "griefing trammies is so much more fun than PvP", for at least 3 hours continuously as they rolled about Despise. Let me just point out one further problem then with Despise then; Return To Britannia. Instead of celebrating 15 years of gaming together, expect to see a lot of accounts being re-opened, completely cost free, to relive the good old Dread Lord days, or simply to take vengeance on Trammel, because we all know it's Trammel's fault the hot chicks at the bar aren't impressed with the length of your virtual sword... but if the Devs don't get a grip on Despise pretty soon, they're going to poison their own Anniversary waters with it.

The gifts however were lovely, and I've only had one semi-duff trade all day (someone forgot to swap a second bag), so I've managed to thoroughly spruce up my home, whilst meeting lots of lovely new people across multiple shards.

Kylie is 100% correct. I was in Despise that night and warned him of the players doing it. I have run into these guys in Fel as well and they usually play PK characters, they all have some version of Panda in there name. They typically wait until the last wave of champ spawns and attack while you are surrounded by monsters.

Logical that they would now think it is fun to run around despise killing everyones pets. It was intentional, it went on for hours.

What they are doing is dropping poison fields, flagging your pets and then killing them.

Made the new content zero fun, only plus side was at about 1 am there parents finally figured out they were not asleep and made them log off so I was able to train up one pet and fight teh boss. Ended up getting the sweet ring as well.

They really have to change the way this works because they have an awesome idea, it just needs tweaking.

On a side note, it was nice to meet you Kylie.

i really dont understand all the negativity from everyone about this revamp i played it all day the second and tons of people were there too and it was a blast for me.Also i read u have to get your pet to lvl 4 or whatever to go into the boss that isnt true at all u can get a lvl 1 pet conscript it and go rightinto the boss next go saw tons doing it.I would imagine low lvl pets wont do as much dmg and therefore prob makes it less likely to get a drop but rng is rng u still can and likely will eventually get one.So many of the new artys were floating around already the first day that they must have a fairly decent drop rate too.I can see how it would be annoying to have your pets killed but i still think its a cool struggle between good an evil and its fun to me.If it were too easy it wouldnt be fun anymore after u did it for a week and got 5 of each arty...challenge is part of what makes a game a game.I think its amizingly awsome and differesnt and i love it as is just as i did with cove and the void pool thing.Very fun and dif way to enjoy my uo if u hate it that much just dont go pick a dif dungeon lolI kinda thought maybe they put in the pets can kill each other thing to make up for fel not getting the revamped dungeon seems to me that its something that can be enjoyed by both sure theres griefers everywhere in every aspect of uo why should this be any dif?We've always figuered out ways around griefers before im sure we will on this too.

I can confirm the dude was running around at a speed that is not possible by normal means.

If you train a caster type and have your sampire tank and leech from the wisp, you should be fine.

Leveling pets might be tricky but if you anchor the pet properly and then have stuff attacking you while your pet deals damage, you can level the pet without too much issue.

It does not happen every time. I have tried with a level 15 pet which is total of 225 points which is under the total of army force of 300 to be able to enter Call to Arms area and I could not get in. I have to run 2 chars when the dungeon is empty just to get in the area.

I am curious where you found the information regarding the 300 point minimum requirement. I am certain I have been pulled down more than once all alone. I also know that they have not fixed the bug where you get ejected is some areas of the dungeon.

I do not think anyone has said everyone who kills pets is using a speedhack. In this case he is saying one group of people are and I saw it happening on the same night as him. Were you there?

If the system is working as intended, they need to fix the system. I can live with my low level pet being attackable until I level it enough to change its karma, but it is very easy as a player to discord and kill other players pets during the boss fight. As long as you have another player with you in order to kill the boss with you can effectively eject the other players to keep the boss all to yourselves. This is not part of the good verses evil "theme" and I believe falls outside the scope of a harassment page. It is griefing plain and simple because of poor coding. If it was a fel event ok, but I believe the expectation in tram would be that a pet that has entered the war zone would be immune to other player attacks.

I didn't say he was wrong, I said he wasn't to blame for his own pet getting into fights as the Karma system means even if you try and avoid others, your pet has an inclination to attack over and above the leash settings, which means if someone else's badly controlled pet starts a fight, you'll struggle to pull yours off and away as effectively.

I've also already pointed out the use of poison fields forces you into fighting as your pet flags aggressive to the damage even on Defensive leash and will reflag every time the poison ticks for damage or it re-steps into the field.

So I'm on your side with regards to Despise, both of you. It's completely broken at the moment.

I was reading the the guide wrong online. There is apparently no min Army Power required, its just based on if the other side have a higher Army Power than your side. So if no one is on the opposing side, you could end up in there alone by yourself.

I agree that the ability to kill other players pets is inconsistent with the premise of the tram facet, particularly when it is people from your own army doing once everyone has been teleported down just to force them out of the boss encounter. As long as people can increase their own odds for a drop by forcing other people out it will continue to happen.

All further attemps by means of online chat and phone have resulted in red tape and nothing but short anwsers. Directing me back to web site to subit a report. Phone call result in 2 hours waits and each time the voice over says 70 min wait time. This is worse than calling the IRS, the music is so loud i have to turn my phone down to like lvl3.
So basicly grieve away, go insaine trying to lvl up a pet. So you pop fasrt grieve away, you win! Have at it..

Update: Phone call came in from EA. They are putting me intouch with the dev's studio where he said they can replay the the last 48 hours in despise like film.
Yah know I didnt want this drama, but I felt the need to inform UO customers here. I could careless about despise now thaT I have what I went after. I hate it for the others that have to put up with it. I am sick of the cheating/ Gost Cams/ duping/ hurrasment by mean of exploiting the game mechanics.
I have been told other players have filed reports. so I am about at the end of the rope and Ill guess I just have to leave the area every time a cheater come into my range. 0 How fun. check out this humble chat....

So thus far the above Poster was right, not an easy task. But hey I am humbled with clear conscience and I guess it ok to cheat/hack what ever you want to do.

Don't worry. This will be fixed. By fixed I mean they will do nothing and when it's old hat and the arties are worthless those who are complaining now will be able to do whatever they want.

Honestly I'm unsure why this is that big of a surprise to everyone. Grief-play has been condoned since the beginning of the game and nothing in the recent past has been done to give anyone a reason to think otherwise. On the plus side this could be a fun battleground kind of thing. They just need to spell it out before putting it in that it's an evil vs good karma system. I wonder how much better this would have been if they had done that in the first place.

Set your pet as defensive and try to lure one enemy at a time by either flagging or teleporting. A lvl 10 mare should be rather robust, though.

Or do you mean the boss killed your mare? Because if that's what you're saying, yeah, you can't solo the boss really.

Following the whole power issue, I've been called down, alone, as low as LVL 6 I believe. Keep in mind I was on Origin or TC, and therefore I was likely the only player on, in general, lol.

There is definitely a level limit on when you can initiate conscription, and if you aren't past that limit you can't go. I've heard of people waiting and waiting after the summon message and not being able to go after the wait period. I'm not sure if that's a reflection of people losing pets within the 60 second time frame or what?

I've seen as low as Level 1 creatures in the final level and I once got teleported with a level 3 creature. Not sure who said that, there is nothing about it on stratics or uoguide, the only limit I know is that you cant take control of a creature after level 5 (or 6?).

So thus far the above Poster was right, not an easy task. But hey I am humbled with clear conscience and I guess it ok to cheat/hack what ever you want to do.
Guess I will have to see what happens in this next round... so much effort to get a clear answer or a fix to depise.
I wont report on this subject again unless some real info comes up.

Not sure if this is accurate or not... I have trained up a pet on my bard to level 10 and then released it and claimed it on my thrower without issue.

I controlled a level 15 pet released by someone else just last night...... so I really think the level limit to control thing is not really accurate.

I remember not being able to control a low level creature before, but I went and tested and was able to control a creature at level 6 that were not even controlled by anyone before (it was hard to train a creature without actually controlling it). I'm not sure what that special circumstances were but they either fixed it or I don't remember it clearly.

I've seen as low as Level 1 creatures in the final level and I once got teleported with a level 3 creature. Not sure who said that, there is nothing about it on stratics or uoguide, the only limit I know is that you cant take control of a creature after level 5 (or 6?).

hmm well a gray pet needs to earn up to level 4-5 before it goes blue, yeah? or that amount of karma change, it seems (for the LVL 15s).

i like when snob told him he was qualified than in the next sentence said they have different support people. dollars to donuts you were talking to some 10 cent an hour support guy in pakistan, or more likely you were talking to a computer program.

on the flip side i would pay good money to hear some phone calls made by players to ea. some have to be hysterical.
