Scripter Farming Painted Caves on Many Shards

On Legends the scripter is being protected by PKers whom I will not name. It was fun running around while the 5 of them finally managed to kill me, but still...

People ask me why I barely play anymore. The fact that blatant cheating goes unpunished ranks up there as one of my top reasons.

dont mean to sound like an ass but perhaps if you did what was asked of you I wouldnt be mentioning what i am now on the boards. Great idea. Today I 'accidentally' lured Lurg down and a scripter died. LOL. It was funny to watch him die. He died and then rezzed and then went right back to doing what he was doing. LOL. Then he left entirely and I stayed around in there for 3 hours, you know, just in case. LOL. I am so dedicated to this game. LOL.

What are we gonna do about these guys?! COME ON GUYS! We can do it! Let's do it EA! We are dedicated and so are all of you! Log on and 'accidentally' lure Lurg to where he usually isn't. Then stand around there for a few hours to make sure! YAY! We are really making a difference!

I miss all my old friends. They quit 8 years ago because of scripters. Scripters ruin this game. My old friends were really dedicated to this game. EA DIdn't know what it was doing when they decided scripters could be tolerated. My old friends were so awesome. Lord Piggly was the best, you remember him, right? I am still here though. LOL! I love UO! Let's get those scripters! COME ON GUYS! Don't worry about the collateral damage. Any real player stupid enough to go to Painted Caves will get what they deserve for being so dumb and not reading this thread! COME ON GUYS! We can do it! YAY!!

Wow these boards haven't changed a bit. I love the scripting threads. It draws out the obvious scripters. You guys are so hard to recognize, thankfully you get so overly defensive it's painfully obvious. The scripters come in with rediculous defenses, hoping EA will read it and go "Oh wait, that's right , there ARE people with no arms and legs that still play UO, we better not assume that ANYONE is a scripter now".

People who sell gold and can't compete in a free market start a rant and keep it going for 2 weeks. Not saying anybody here sells gold and can't do it profitably, but maybe?

ENds Hypothetical Situation....

I have thrown my hat in as I want EA to make and sell UltimaScripts. Since this year is the "Year of the Events," I want 2009 to be the year of their UltimaScripts expansion. I would pay EA for that capability. I wouldn't pay you guys for gold pieces, but I would pay EA for a groundbreaking new expansion that enabled characters to manage hired NPCs to do repetitive tasks (via UltimaScripts) to gather resource .

But by all means, keep posting how you guys lure and grief and keep posting how these scripters are always in the same place doing the same thing. The grief and lure tactics will come in handy dealing with people that bother me elsewhere in the game. I can always say I thought they were scripters if a GM shows up.

Well I do sell gold (be it rarely) and I dunno if I make a profit on it or not, I just use it to help pay for my accounts when I do sell it.

I'm now thinking that a seperate thread should be made for the anti gold/item selling people as its not on topic of this thread and its really starting to get on my nerves that people are trying to derail the topic of this thread.

Please, its about scripters and AFK farmers not about item selling or griefing in general. Just make another thread for it please.

Sign up as a mod and then you can get rid of my posts. Gold sales are the problem. All of it is the same problem. This guy allegedly has 20 screens and 100 accounts scripting... it all started with you, or someone like you.... "Oh hey, I am a loyal UO player and I pay my account every month, maybe I will sell some gold to offset costs." Then you tell your buddy it works. Then your buddy tells a capitalist and he makes it profitable.

But..
When the scripter moved to the DOjo, this thread followed him there. That's off topic of this thread, right?

Maybe you can start a vigilante posse to police Stratics threads. You and your posse can start posting your opinions of what counts as on topic and off topic. Maybe you can bully people out of threads or somewhere "their kind isn't welcome." Maybe we should all start policing threads like we are supposed to police UO. Do Your Duty! Start policing UO and Stratics!!

Mister E, what about the players who get so sick of the unpunished cheats that they quit? I've spent half of the past 3 years or so with closed UO accounts, because cheats have made a joke of crafting, training skills and PvP. I and many of my friends have packed up. I just keep returning hoping to see a better UO.

If we all just walk on by, after paging a GM; in the few instances we don't get canned responses, the player magically becomes attended and the GM is unable to act. Scripting is apparently ok, so long as you respond to the GM. It's funny, these programs are deemed illegal and we can't discuss them, yet a GM won't punish one of their users. They seem unable to turn up as a normal player to check the bot out properly, instead appear in a form that sets off every bot alarm from here to Trinsic. The risks for cheats now are minimal. As is the GM service.

The way I feel is this, if it takes civil disobedience, griefing in Tram and vocal complaints here, to get action, so be it. I won't break any rules in dealing with cheats, but the time for letting the GM do his job is long gone. If EA want their game to be all happy and shiny, they need to act harshly to stamp out cheats. Not the odd purge once a year or so to shut us up. I had a lot of faith in the new tame at the start of this year, I just want to see that faith wasn't misplaced. Right now I think I'm heading out the door in a few months, because I really have to draw the line somewhere, and this just isn't good enough

Well I've managed to kill the scripter a few times on Legends. I use my Tamer and my Greater Draggy on fel side.

BTW, I love how it take 3-4 reds to kill me and my draggy!

On the Tram side I use my Stealther dude, I stealth in get Grobu and Lurg to follow me and take them down to say howdy to the scripty girls. LMAO works better than 409!

I'm trying to get people including reds to help kill these scripters. Hopefully I can convience the people of Legends to unite against these scripting scum!

Okay I just had to say something to those people who are complaining about our vigilante justice. Sometimes you are left with no choice but Vigilantism when law enforcement is non-exsistant, is apathetic or has failed to protect its citizens. Such is the case with UO GMs.

If you need a real life example look no farther than the early days of the American West. No it wasn't always right. (when in Tombstone, AZ visit Boothill and the tombstone that reads "hanged by mistake") Often in the early American West it was all the justice they had until a Territorial government could be organized or till annexation and the arrival of the US Calvary.

The West survived and so will UO. Hopefully this is the much needed wake-up call for EAMythic. If our beating on the Scripters isn't enough Jeremy and Co will be hearing it straight from my lips LIVE AND IN PERSON at the Austin Townhall! Till then everyone chant with me:

I don't think they are really protecting the scripters. Most PKers just want to grief kill people these days. If they aren't killing the scripter it's because they know he wont care. Who knows, they prolly are killing him too.

I was actually going to post a comment in response to the fact that 'packrat' got a public warning a page or two back,and yet you had been allowed to post such things as

I thought that was a disgraceful comment to make,and imo shows the level of YOUR immaturity.

However it seems you have been warned privately but, even in choosing to make that public, you continue to flout the forum 'guidelines'.

When you inform EA/whoever on the moderation on this forum,be sure to include your offensive and innapropriate comments too.

After all we wouldnt want anyone getting things wrong would we ?

TOday I lured Lurg down to the front of the cave. LOL!! LOL! There were all kinds of people in there, and they died or had to leave the area. LOL! LOL!! I guess some of them will fall into the category of "Hanged by Mistake." LOL!! LOL! Serves them right. They should know that area is off limits until the devs or EA make a public statement saying that scripting is wrong and then creating a "script detector" that instantly identifies and bans accounts that script. LOL! LOL!! I don't even care if EA bans accounts incorrectly, as long as they get some of the scripters, I don't mind if a few innocent accounts are "Hanged by Mistake." LOL!! LOL!

Anybody have any other good tactics for killing PC chars in Tram? Luring works pretty good when you have a strong monster to lure. LOL! LOL!! But what about when there are no strong monsters? How do you disrupt a PC chars gameplay with no strong monsters around?

On a side note I can honestly report that out of the last 4 times I checked Tram / Fel on Sonoma... I haven't found him there. This was over about a 4 hour period. Has anyone gone out looking and seen his characters working away somewhere other than painted caves / dojo ??

Yesterday on Greatlakes i went to the caves to make some gold and honor virtue and when i went in there where about 10 people working the whole cave, every spawn spot was completly filled and i was just lmao running around in there.
