Sorry, I've been out of touch for about that long. The Japan version has been down for atleast 4-5 weeks
I hope so, but he's not in charge of the website, and the people (or person really) who are in charge of the website don't know how to develop websites that pull that information from the game.Did notice that in the producers letter, he did mention that they were planning on relaunching the UO.com website later this year, so hopefully these features will be restored.
Kind of sounds like something that came from someones arse.I dont understand why they couldnt have just restricted it by Japanese IP addresses and only displayed Japanese shards.
Anyway it was taken down cause you could infer nummber of p(l)ayers from it. i.e. 12 months ago there were 40,000 unguilded vet characters total on all the shards. If we assume the average p(l)ayer has 3 vet unguilded chars on all shards -> 13,333 p(l)ayers.
Besides the fact that that is character numbers and not player numbers. Most of us "vets" have 7 characters per account, so the total number of characters should be divided by 7 if you are counting players. (without taking into account players with multiple accounts).Kind of sounds like something that came from someones arse.I dont understand why they couldnt have just restricted it by Japanese IP addresses and only displayed Japanese shards.

The number is total vet characters that are unguilded. This doesnt include vet characters that are guilded. Yes it is 7 max characters per shard, but an account can have characters on other shards too.Besides the fact that that is character numbers and not player numbers. There are X number of characters, not X number of players.
Funny how they can tell the world with press releases how Star Wars has 1.7 million active players (both subscriptions and those still on the 30-day trial). It should be easier to read the EA economical monthly report than trying to guess how many accounts are active...
Are you being sarcastic? There are a lot of RTB and bugged houses.Only way you are gonna find out how many active accounts there are is if you went around and counted how many houses there are on every shard... (That would be hard)
