Yes - but it's still 'City of Mages', steeped in magic - except, well, it isn't....It was ruled in the lore by a council of mages instead of someone directly loyal to Lord British. In a way it was independent as opposed to Skara, Yew, Cove, Paws, Britain, Serpents Hold, Trinsic or Minoc who were all lead after the grand alliance nominally by Lord British.
Not anymore now it is the city of Humility. At least in the lore. Of course since the houses are player run things often go a bit differently.Yes - but it's still 'City of Mages', steeped in magic - except, well, it isn't....
Moonglow??? Surely that's Magincia.....Not anymore now it is the city of Humility. At least in the lore. Of course since the houses are player run things often go a bit differently.
Your correct sorry have been typing faster then reading. In this case that is why. Its something for your EMs and the Dev team to use. Players could use it as well but that is what it is supposed to be and it has more mage shops. I am not sure how much more you want them to do out of it but the Ultima Lore has always been more of a back drop for the live events (sorta kinda) and the Devs and a handful of players then the general masses.Moonglow??? Surely that's Magincia.....
Few hours later still can't find anything to use the rope on, or change my loyalty to any city. So, anyone figured how/where to use this "guardsman's rope"? I've ventured several of the "loyalty" cities, both fel and tram, but haven't found anyone to use it on.
You know thats not a bad ideaIt would be fun to leave the rewards hidden... create a deadline to join a town... and then let people know the rewards...
I guess living with the consequences of your playstyle, choices and short term decisions... isnt part of the uo play style... is it?
(late comers should be able to join any town but also have less rewards)
*walks up to the Trinsic town line and takes one step forward*I came from the back streets of Trinsic. It's my city no matter what others think. Thats right! You all heard me. Dont make me be thuggin and buggin on you if you happen to be in my partsI'll use some horrendous rapping skills on any that tries and btw, Im legendary at that skill

As one other said in this thread. Nice ideaNow if they could only allow players to be kings/queens to be elected. Ah the possabilties........

The choice on offer seems to be - randomly declare your character is loyal to a random city, which stands for nothing different from any other city, has no distinguishable personality, and has no in-game leadership that might even give a hint of what it is about. Then maybe stuff will happen to you based on your guess....I guess living with the consequences of your playstyle, choices and short term decisions... isnt part of the uo play style... is it?
Since most of my characters were in the 'Royal Guard' and still wear the sashes, they are about defending ALL the people.... so won't be picking any one city to be 'loyal' to (wasn't UO about Virtues, not petty nationalism?), and will probably be joining you in the 'brigands' category! What if I chose to not be loyal to any town? Would my characters be labeled as "brigand"? If so,that would be awesome.
I agree. All it turns into is... what do I do, where do I go... this in unfair. It would be fun to leave the rewards hidden... create a deadline to join a town... and then let people know the rewards...

This is what I think the Devs are heading toward, but I hope it is either something else, or something more.I'm betting loyalty will lower NPC prices in the town you're loyal to.

A good point there. But if one is loyal to a city there would have to be a discount at their stores. This is what I think the Devs are heading toward, but I hope it is either something else, or something more.I'm betting loyalty will lower NPC prices in the town you're loyal to.
I kinda doubt this. After all thats what the Honesty Vitrue recently became. You never know tho.
I have yet to hit TC and check to see how to show your loyalty for a town. But have heard mention about a rope or something along those lines *shrugs*
Me too!Im picking Vesper. I started there.
BTW, none of this is active on TC1 yet - though the guard captains exist, and you can get the rope.
Yes... but you and I both know there should be detailed information about the system posted in advance of it going onto a test center. I mean, you know, how the bloody hell do you know what to look for to test if they don't bother to tell you in the first place?Because before running here to ask questions about a new patch I actually like go to TC1 and...well...test the new content for myself.
All of this can be learned by aproaching one of the guard captains and listening to what they bark.
The knowing its not all active yet is, again, from taking a 10min stroll through several Virtue cities on TC1.

But then, I know you were just being snippish about someone asking how you knew, because you're among the top ten flag wavers for Mythic to communicate more.![]()
Me too and Delicia isn't even on the list of towns you can pledge loyalty to.Delucia. That's been my town since T2A.
I was wondering the same thing when I read all that! But I don't really believe in rioting, just I usually don't like police and guards much either, seems like a lot of them are nothing but bullies. Which is sad, cuz there's lots of good ones too who really want to make the world a better place but they get easily overshadowed by the ones who break cameras and arrest you just because they feel that their manhood was threatened in some way.Can I be loyal to the rioters and use the rope on the guards?
I'll go with Trinsic or Vesper, as those actually look defendable when **** inevitably hits the fan!
Making your loyalty go down is much easier and faster then you can work it upwards.
You can raise it for multiple towns but in the long run that is not a good idea or even possible.
Is the Town Loyalty maxed out to a certain figure ? What is it ?
