Have been playing around a little bit, visiting a few of the old places, and waxing nostalgic. You know, there are a few things the devs could restore or do to bring a touch of the old school back, without impacting too many people in a negative way.
Now keep in mind, I play a mage, always played a mage, played a mage most the time, always. So this will be slanted towards the mage's point of view.

1. Chain Lightning, Meteor Swarm...should be brought inline with the necro spell wither. As it stands, best I can see it from using them, wither takes out everything in range, whereas the two magic area spells get the damage divided up between however many mobs are out there.
A necro can stand in a dozen dire wolves at the spawn, and hit wither one time and clear it out.
A mage with the old spells, nope...has to take time and a lot of mana to do the same thing because if there are a dozen wolves, the damage is divided up evenly among em all...pretty weak, if ya ask me.

2. Meteor Swarm, give us the old visual effects back. Now if you fire one off at 6 mobs, its all one shot of 6 fanning out everywhere. In the old days, if you fired one off at 6 mobs, each individual fireball were released separately. Never understood why this awesome looking display was ever changed, cant believe it was actually that gamestopping to need changed...

3. Won't be popular, but i think in Trammel, after a set amount of time, a players corpse should turn to bones and when it does be freely lootable...

4. Let mages target area spells (the two above) thru walls again by targetting the top of teh wall. Unfair advantage? I don't think so, considering we have mobs now that are flamestriking us from two screens away, and evidently with endless mana :p

5. On a different topic, let's go back to lockdowns in houses. Is there *ever* gonna be a time when you fix the lockdown issues to where we can release one item in a chest, without having to release the entire chest, and then go back thru it RESETTING EVERY COTTON PICKING PERMISSION ON EVERYTHING IN THE CHEST!?!?!??!?

*sighs*

See yall ingame :)

This...... the bolded thing is the most important of all... As it is now if I want to say... get out a book... from my bookshelves. I have to unlock the bookshelf..... and then reset the stinking permission on all 99 other books on the shelf... What a massive pain! I wish I had something to where I could say "I wish to lock this down" and then a question would pop up on security and it would further ask me do you wish to apply this setting to all items??? Where I could say YES!.

I would love to have that fixed.

I mentioned a few ideas in other treads about things such as some Changes to Treasure Hunting and Fishing. When Treasure Hunting in Tokuno you should get Tokuno Mini artifacts in the level 6 and above chests. I think it's great that you get all kinds of more of the Asian style of armor and weapons but you should also get the Tokuno minors too. And again while fishing in Tokuno the shoes and boots should also reflect the region.

When Treasure Hunting in Ter Mur you should get Ter Mur artifacts... Things for Gargoyles. And while fishing in Ter Mur you should get Gargish Talons instead of shoes and boots. It's just more "logical"...

Sad part is there is nothing for elves... So I propose that in Malas you might find more things that are ML style... Elven items in chests... ML Minor Artifacts... And maybe add the Elven boots to the fishing in Gravewater Lake... Since really the ML stuff is well not available in any other way than in the few sparse ML dungeons. Either that or could they not be added to loot and things in Ilshenar??? That would be an excellent addition in my opinion...

Just my thoughts...

Also.... I have one more beef... As a Gargoyle who flies... Why am I slowed in the sands of the Weld???? I'm not in them.... I'm flying over them... this makes ZERO sense to me. Logic would tell me that I'd be unaffected by this.

I always play Mage as well, and I feel I would be over powered if I could do that. Maybe if the damage wasn't split, but keep the AoE the same, the 5x5ish sized grid, and with perhaps no limit on the number of bolt strikes coming down within that grid (So all 25 lightening bolts can hit).

2. Meteor Swarm, give us the old visual effects back. Now if you fire one off at 6 mobs, its all one shot of 6 fanning out everywhere. Have to admit, I only vaguely recall this, but sounds awesome. Thumbs up!

Meh, I don't think it needs tweaking personally, at least while there is still Trammel & Felucca separated & causing trouble.

This reminds me of the Ice Demon room in the (Third?) Ice Dungeon Level, I think you could clip through the wall and shoot them with Meteor swarm or something.
To be able to click anywhere to deliver the strike would be a nice touch I guess. Not sure if it would cause trouble fighting in and around houses though?

I'd like to see this remedied as well, some day. I have stuff in Locked down display cases, that I sometimes like to pick up, preferably without risking the whole container and it's contents.

All good ideas.

Not a good idea. I remember when this was allowed and people would not rez you just so they could loot your bones. Insurance has fixed some of this but with Shame revamp I can see this coming back. Rude players not rezing just to loot your bones and laughing at you in game and calling you a NOOB. This was one of the better things that UO got right.

Acutally its not another players job to rez you, so remember that before you call someone rude...they are not responsible for you. and id love to see corpses go to bones in tram again, not so i can loot random people "altho that is a nice plus" but i will give u an example why this happened to me when i came back to uo this last time..... i went into twisted on a char thinking its just a safe spot, well oops forgot all about the char having bad karma, also forgot to check and see how much gold i had for insurance....i tried getting back to my body many times because i had ran out of insurance $ on the 2nd death. needless to say my 1st body went to bones :( no if i would have known that when it goes to bones i could have looted it. i could have simply waited on my char to log and grabbed another good karma char of mine to come get it....thats the only reason why i think this is handy in tram.

Great Lakes needs the return of its hole in the ground. The passage between the the Britain moongate and the bank used to have a hole next to the moongate for access. The access by the bank is still there.
