1. i will killl you in a blessed suit just the same as non blessed one.

2. do you think we actually go, omg look i just made 8k off of a kill? I have billions of gold (as do alot of pk's). I loose money if i start to count that low.

3. what bug? who cares? the devs will figure out who did what and watch people who have X many thousand of them and go poof.

4. make a real thread, if you want to talk about comin to felluca do it, just do not sit here and talk about it.

5. bless deeds are oki doki, but only so much I wanna bless. most of my suit is real artifacts or event items that i already put a bless deed on. everything else is imbued or crafter. no use for that, waste of time.

You are reasonning based on the false assumption that players either are PvPers and don't PvM and should play in Fel, or are PvMer and don't PvP and should stay in Tram.

Based on what the world was before the invention of facets, the vast majority of players, including myself, just don't mind about some PvP but just don't PvP for PvP all the time, only when there is SOME purpose, like gaining a special drop or something. For people who want to PvP for no other purpose than PvP itself there are Factions, and I am of course not talking about that but about Red PKs vs Blue players wondering in Fel for a purpose, such as doing a champ.

If you want to PvP for the sake of it, just play in factions, but if you decide to go the Red way, you SHOULD have a HUGE penalty when you die to compensate the HUGE advantage to beeing able to have all your skills dedicated to killing other players. Maybe the impossibility to use insurance at all, or the impossibility to logout/timeout without the hiding skill, or whatever....

Now before everyone say Siege Siege Siege Siege Siege, not everyone wants to pay a secondary account just to be able to place a house on Siege.
why faction? what do players of uo get out of it? lets cuddle in the bases guarding these rocks then we win.....absolutely nothing.

cattered? not sure what that is.

everyone's on atlantic because the population is high enough to always have someone to fight with or against.
i play 4 shards including atl. and most of the time fight wise, there is more of a fight on other shards than atl. the majority of players on atl are in luna or ish, tram whatever. Sometimes there is big fights there, but not often.

I have pvp chars on a number of shards and ATL is the last one I bother with. Smaller shards typically have two main competing guilds who battle over fel which I notice seems to provide for better players and near constant battles.

This said bless deeds will have no impact on fel. There is little gained in trading off for the points vs gold saved. I'd rather try out the bestial suit or purchase earrings/boots and add to my suit over blessing.

Bless Deeds won't bring anyone back into Fel...... The Bounty System will bring people back into Fel IMO.

Bring back The Bounty System!

Ah, SixUnder! It's been a while since you precipitated on my parade. :p

And... these two points show the classic mentality of the griefing PK.

1. Of course you will. Other players exist only for you to exploit and harrass, oh effendi.
2. Well if not, then it's nakedly obvious you PK only to be an *******, not to profit.

But of course, with your post, that's a foregone conclusion.

Let us not forget we agreed on the fact that right now, there isn't that much of them anymore, and their presence in distrupting the champ spawns in fel is "part of the game".

So his input is as appreciated as any, and I'm sorry you cannot grief someone who can just walk back to trammel.

This is all just a distraction... not a full fledged topic...

LOL, I don't think my guild EVER finished a Harrower Event. It always turned into a big knock-down dragout PvP hairball before we got anywhere near the first incarnation showdown.

Thirty plus PAS's and Waka's going at it across six screens... there was a weird kinda grandeur to it.

This is all just a distraction... not a full fledged topic...
I suppose you're right -- another Tram-vs-Fel argument to toss onto the gigantic pile wouldn't really do anyone any good.

Might it be that I read the tone in your reply incorrectly but who says that you are allowed to just tip toe in Fel and do what you please? Since the first day that I start playing UO has always had some risk vs reward and, while much more tame now, Fel is the closest to that same stance.

Just as I cannot expect to do any spawn/harrower/MoB/whatever in fel that I fancy without some risk you should expect the same.

The gold is a waste of time though I am shocked sometimes with how much people must carry but PKing/PvPing is all about the fight win or lose.

1000000 Cleanup points = Squelcher Gem. Allows you to silence up to 10 trashtalkers at a time.

that might get more into fel, since majority of players that avoid fel do it because of the teenage gang fights that last 10 minutes followed by 1 hour of trash talk.

Well, the first thing I must admit is, I am biased (some would say bigoted) against PKs.

PKs can be creative and actually add to the game. The ShadowClan Orcs on Catskills, for instance. Yes, they were technically PKs but they never broke character -- they'd accost you for food or gold if you trespassed on their turf. They spoke in an orc pidgin and added an element of danger but did contribute to the atmosphere of the game, as they would engage their victims in roleplaying.

There was also the 3EDs guild, who would attack players but never kill them -- in fact they'd often buffoonish kill each other because they were roleplaying three PKs who were both unlucky and very, very stupid.

Now.

Those guys were the microscopic minority. Most all PKs I have observed or ran into were bullying, power-tripping *******s. They PKed you and stole your items not because they needed them, but to make sure you didn't have them any more. They just loved the idea they could squash a fellow player with impunity and then ridicule them as they appear as ghosts.

It proved to them, apparently, they were bad asses. Big men. Yeah, your overpowered character killed a mule who could never possibly win in a hundred replays. You know, if I go to an elementary school as a full grown man and systematically start punching each kid on the playground in the face, I know I'll win every time. But it doesn't make me a bad-ass. In fact, it makes me a coward. A bully. Crowing about it and deluding myself I did something worthy also would compound those by making me an idiot as well.

THIS is the mentality I hate. And many, many, MANY PKs had it. The need to torment and deride their victims on top of antagonizing them and robbing them.

So. Yes, I don't think I'm exactly unbiased about PKs. But it's a contempt they earned. Every ounce of it.

Thats where the argument usually gets strange, and thats why we companions are here to dynamise those kind of observations :

I was a roleplaying PK, to me the virtues were still important as my only goal was to be the baddest, most feared by both pks and blues, ******* on the server.

I often resed a player, never attacked someone who couldn't defend themselves, unless they did something incredibly stupid (aka walking into my mouth) or kind of killed themselves without my assistance.

But you see I was young, we all matured up since those days, and the kids who make you feel like this now are just trying to imitate us, me.

And this is where most people think : there he goes again with his me me me I wont the game story, but its true.

My "role" in UO when I was named a seer by the people who created the true story of UO, was to play the Bal-Lem... and there was only one like me, I was supposed to exist on all servers and become a dynamic point which linked the roleplay of all stories on all shards ; this was VERY important to UO's former devs, that there would be an event and a "winner" who became "the stranger" (not Avatar) and travelled back in time to unite all shards through chaos.

We often hear the freemasons motto : Order out of chaos... that was the goal.

And let me remind you this very very important fact :

The true meta-gaming role of the FoA *the sorcerers who summoned the evil spirit in me during a ritual* was TO WIPE ALL BANK ACCOUNTS AND HOUSES

That was the reason for "armageddon" to exist, and I have word directly from RG and the elder GM of atlantic on that matter. That was the most important thing to them, they wanted to take back control of the economy that was broken by hackers (and we were supposed to make the suspense last until they had found a solution, then BAM, FULL WIPE)

I know many of you would have whined about the wipe, but they didn't care ; it was necessary for UO to remain a Ultima and be about virtues and glory ; not money and factionalisation.

This is an extremely important thing to remember

Because right after I was fired, and the company changed its disclaimer (EA) to give the users within the game privacy...

not only they didn't do the wipe, they actually modified everything to make sure there would be slow inflation, eternal war and that the people who duped could not be prosecuted anymore...

Was this intentional ? I'm not going to speculate, it might be a move to further protect themselves for other people who would sue them... but if thats the case, it was the worse fail in gaming history.

And the fact that RG sold his "baby" so to speak, to be able to go to space... is extreemly symbolic.

If any of you remember RG's last speech, and the previous speech about how the "FoA" have become more dangerous than he first tought... it won't be a mystery to you.

So there you go... normaly the seers role was to spy on players, and mold the story to the true community on each server. For example if I would spot a great pk guild like the orcs, I would have encouraged them and added special deco to their place. But if I spotted a griefer, I would force him to bow down to his master "the winner of the end game" ironically... and if he didn't want to be forced ; I would have made his life a living hell, so much he would have quit within a few days.

But they fired us... and did this legal rearangement which clearly indicated at the time what you still witness today.

"abuse while you still can cause you ARE going to get away with it"

of course since you have a "private" life within the game... no GM can intervene, much less spy on you like the seers would and find out you been duping, or exploiting the game...

So it is the status quo.

Do you understand better the point I bring ?

It seems extremely egotistical on my part to say I "won" and that I'm a legend ; but again its extremely ironic, cause I didn't even had time to reach my true 15 minutes of glory and I'm just a nerd on a videogame after all.

But since I'm a companion as well as a seer, it all makes sense ; I have taken this role not because I'm better than you or anyone else for that matter, but because I was lucky to see such a role coming and I was lucky to be at the right place at the right time to see it intimately link with real life and people who made a living off of UO.

So anyway you take it ; I cannot be considered a collaborator, a jealous player, or any of those pejorative "categories".

I'm out of the game, by EA's decree, and this without signing the contract ALL other companions did.

This is why I am allowed here, and am wanted here to play the "bad guy" because the more you read about me, the more you see I am indeed a very bad thing for everyone yet have the consciousness to warn others about myself.

This is true self-sacrifice, always in the now, for I destroy my own credibility, I destroy the status quo, I destroyed atlantic (1999 armageddon night), and as the stranger I destroyed the gem of imortality.

Thats only the tip of the iceberg...

If we really did, you could expect me to be banned already...

I wouldn't have built up a reputation and be considered a contributing member to this community... and also please remember 3 quarters of my posts were deleted when stratics changed hands and I learned to censor myself to conform to this silly PG-13 frame of mind. There wasn't much one-liners in there either...

some ONE would have warned me already that there is some things I cannot talk about

But no, it seems I just need to be moderated like anyone else since I make errors and sometimes step over the line.

But this is very on topic, and ridiculing this one truth isn't going to make much difference. As I included in my first post, I'm still just a nerd in a video game...

if anything the amount of people who fiercly oppose my SEARCH for truths (because I don't think I've found them yet) is a clear indication that there is substance to it.

Lets see....

Seers Counselors Troubodors Companions oh and the higher archy of SRC 's and such.

1. Seers - most in the begining did what was told and you didnt deviate from it. As a Seer was the creator of the vorpal bunny .... your damn lucky it dont have the power that was in that little blue suit as was put in it in the begining...
I wouldnt put it past what he says to have happened.... the Dev back then was God of UO's Olympus. You didnt mess with them or back talk. I dont put spying past them.

2. Counselors and SRC's their bosses in the chain of command.... The GM's right hand people in blue. They did the dirty work, took all the calls in the que that the gms found boring or when they wanted a break... (other words for im busy) Spys Seers really?? How about the rest of the crew.... you think Seers were the only ones ?? I got news for you, IF you knew in game anyone who was doing something and they found out you even talked to them in passing you were a trator and lost it all. (they had you sign contracts that bound you for life...in uo anyway)
Duper? you didnt inform them asap... your accounts and rl jail was possible if you didnt help corner them.

Troubodors and Companions were just floss to keep the players happy and give the Seers and Counselors a helping hand with the new and events.

UO history is not so clear cut and clean as all would have you think. Alot of things happened behind the red courtain... beleave you me you dont really want ot open that can of worms.
