^^ more PR propaganda nonsense
Warhammer and Camelot's in-game->web functions were both up and down before finally being down for a while now, with security reasons being listed as the cause, and with the Warhammer producer saying in May the internal resources are not available to bring Realm War back online anytime soon.
I would say MyUO has gone down that same blackhole that those two systems have gone down. If it's not security related, then the new account system probably mangled it. Either way, if they aren't willing to cough up the resources to fix Realm War or Camelot's housing db, they aren't willing to cough up the resources to bring MyUO back online. Argue with that all you won't, but they obviously don't care too much about MyUO or even the other two games websites.
Working on Japan site. Not working on US site. Why?
That's very easy to explain, but you all already know the answer to that - somebody actually gives a damn about the Japanese UO website and there is an actual staff behind it and not one guy juggling three different game websites. The Japanese UO website is run by completely different people than the American website, they have actual website/db developers, and it shows.
Look at the American website:
Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online | Play the 14-Day Free Trial!
Look at the Japanese website:
UltimaOnline.jp
What's the difference? The Japanese website is not only actively being developed with a separate Japanese management team, but they go so far as to actually tell players about upcoming events, including putting the spotlight on in-game events. Did I say it was managed by a
team and not one Mythic guy covering the Camelot, UO, and Warhammer websites? Yes I did. A team, implying multiple people who are dedicated to the Japanese UO website.
Do you know when the next EM event on your shard is? Probably not. But Japanese UO players, they not only known when the next event on their shards is, they get detailed messages before the event, and they sometimes even get after-action reports. If you looked at UOHerald.com, not only would you not know who your EMs are, you wouldn't know that they were actually alive and doing things.
Just take a look at this
event on Yamamoto where you get the details about where and when to show up. If you're on LS like me, or Siege or Atlantic, you have to go look at the individual EM websites, because you damn sure won't find anything on the UO Herald website. Want to see the aftermath of events? Not on UOHerald.com, you won't, but if you're in Japan:

Speaking of the UO Herald website, did you know there were Gothic and Rustic mini-booster theme packs now for sale? What's that, you don't see them advertised?
Well go to the
ƒEƒ‹ƒeƒBƒ} ƒIƒ“ƒ‰ƒCƒ“™ website and wait for the header to load, you'll see images meant to alert you to the fact that these are for sale.
How about all of those in-game establishments that players have that are still active? Won't find them on UOHerald.com, but, nope, not at all, but guess what, they are right there on UltimaOnline.jp:

What else does the Japanese UO website have the that American UO website doesn't?
A nice looking beginners guide:
ƒvƒŒƒC‚·‚éƒVƒƒ[ƒh‚ð‘I‚Ô
A place for players to post their stories about UO:

Easy to find archives of the past:
ƒEƒ‹ƒeƒBƒ} ƒIƒ“ƒ‰ƒCƒ“ - ƒuƒŠƒ^ƒjƒAç–éˆê–é
BNN ƒXƒe[ƒVƒ‡ƒ“
Do you get the idea that somebody actually cares enough to put money into the UltimaOnline.jp website and to have an actual team to manage and develop that site?
And while you're stewing over that, think about the fact that UO Japan gets an actively developed site, and they make up approximately 50% of UO players, while the other 50% of UO players get UOHerald.com.
How did we end up with one guy that we have to share with two other games while the other 50% of players who are Japanese get a nicely developed and actively maintained website? It's like the Japanese site has a mixture of UOGuide and UO.Stratics.com for their website, with all of the EM websites feeding into it.
