I've noticed an Increase in the use of Bracelets of Binding in Pvp For Players to Zip out of Danger to some character hidden at a Distant Location. Please make them like pet summoning balls with a casting time that can be interrupted.
...then don't attack them. If they are waiting to be attacked there are already plenty of other ways to escape aside from those bracelets and thus it's fine as it is. Currently, if they don't attack others first then they can already run into a house, recall, moongate, etc to escape. So why complain only about bracelets of binding when players have been escaping in all the other fashions for a long time? Not Good enough, The people are coming out into active pvp situations waiting to be attacked so they can use guard zone if things get dicey, then if things get really dicey they just disappear.
unless they were changed in the last 6 years, they work everywhere if i remember right.BoBs don't work in T2A or dungeons though, right? So it's another Yew Gate issue or what?
Hm, going to have to test that...I thought BoBs couldn't cross areas in which you can't otherwise use gateAnd its not just out at yew gate either, people are using them in dungeons.
Yeah hm I'll go test it out ;/unless they were changed in the last 6 years, they work everywhere if i remember right.
Right right. Because casting recall spells, walking into a moongate or a house take a long ass time and make it so much easier to kill them. /sarcasmThat's Exactly why, they already have recall/house/moongate/Guard zone, But all of those methods require them to either cast, or move to the location. The bracelets just make it silly. And its not just out at yew gate either, people are using them in dungeons.
Relative to Time required to recall, Recall without protection can be fizzled, Running a screen or 5 to get to a guard zone/Into a house. It is soo much easier to kill them then when they hit their bracelet and *Poof*.Right right. This is another yew gate complaint, I just know it.
Have to agree with Chad here.. I have BoB with Lady Kyra and we've seen to many quick "poofs" for me to believe its BoB's .. its just to quick..There's an exploit allowing people to disappear to some unknown location regardless of flagging rules. It's not a bracelet of binding.
Hey Poo... aren't you supposed to be out barding something?ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
now that explains what happened last night.
i was hot on some fella on ATL and had him redlined, i was jogging along beside him and had the moving shot toggled and *POOF* he was gone.
i thought maybe he had popped one of those faction runes, but he wasnt in factions.
so that makes a lot more sense.
i remember years ago i just to put a BOB on my thief, then one on my dismount tamer.
id stealth up to someone standing looking bored, id drop a small chest in front and on each side if him, then hit the BOB on my tamer:
*dismount shot*
*all kill*
walk away with the loot
that was killer.
mean and dirty, but fun like you have no idea!

cant use them in Faction Bases either.Test #1
Citadel (Peerless, no Gate location)
"The bracelet emits a red glow. The bracelet's twin is not available for transport."
Test #2
Ilsh Honor Shrine (Ilsh, no Gate location)
"The bracelet emits a red glow. The bracelet's twin is not available for transport."
Test #3
Deceit (Fel, no Gate location)
"The bracelet emits a red glow. The bracelet's twin is not available for transport."
Conclusion: BoB's cannot be used if you can't gate.

Sounds like your other player with the brace of binding may have been indoors.Test #1

"Gate" might have been misleading, the BoBs follow recall rules. I play so many EM events Gate gets stuck in my head. I was aware of the house rule prior, just wanted to check the rule I thought I knew (the lack of use in Fel T2A, dungeons, etc.), to make sure what I was suggesting here was correct. I also checked for verification outside each area (Citadel crate, Tram moongate, Fel Deceit entrance) prior to entry. I did not bust out the black and white composite notebook, but I'm usually fairly thorough when I test something ;D.Sounds like your other player with the brace of binding may have been indoors.
Regardless, you can't use them to or from dungeons, can't use them while you're criminal, and you can't use them if the "twin" is in a house, regardless of access.
I like where the direction of this thread is going jk lol*takes out little black book titled 'to kill'*Hey Poo... aren't you supposed to be out barding something?

... and, first prize goes to you!do invisibility items, which i seen a glut of recently somehow, have any casting animations or are they still instant?
In my experience with the person disappearing, I immediately dropped a conflag pot on the spot and they weren't there. And no, the character wasn't a stealther. He was an archer tamer that somehow teleported someplace else. His pet stayed behind for a few seconds, until he, I assume, logged out to save it.... and, first prize goes to you!
I was wondering when someone would figure ivis items into this. They are still instant. I don't know why BoBs were brought up in the first place because there is a delay on them when used while the bracelet "locate" its twin.
Well...it can't be camping if the pet wanders for awhile, like in the post before yours, then poofs. Pet would insta disappear i'd think if camping was successful? It may be some time before we know exactly what it is, but it is definitely not Bracelets of Binding. It could be any one or a combination of things, including camping. Whatever it is needs to be fixed, but since it is not Bracelets of Binding, this thread no longer serves its original purpose.
Had to look this one up...I didnt test it, but maybe those people disappearing used a dream serpent charm?
Dream Serpent Charm - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopediaDream Serpent Charm is one of the quest items of the quest Catch Me If You Can!. It comes with 86,400 seconds lifespan and is destroyed when dropped.
http://www.uoguide.com/Catch_Me_If_You_Can!#Catch_Me_If_You_Can.21After accepting the quest, a Dream serpent charm.png Dream Serpent Charm will be placed in your backpack with a 86400 seconds (24 hours) timer. Clicking on the charm will teleport you to a remote location. You need to hit Bexil six times in about 30 seconds while it keeps teleporting itself around the area.
