Or does anyone else think the Throwing skill is a little overpowered in a pvp setting? With over 60 defence chance increase and 120 weapon skill I seem to be hit almost everytime. Its not the worst thing ever but it is a little annoying. What do you think?

:scholar: Agreed!

120 parry; 120 wrestle; 75dci [80 dex] VS 45 hci gargoyle = mage getting hit roughly 65%-70% of the time. Not a good time :(

Yah I have to agree, but I think that was part of the point of this pub. I almost died to a thrower in wolf form, so thats no specials just base damage and I was getting rocked. I run anat/eval and have about 60 DCI. I think your right lox I saw a post you made about anat/eval not working correctly and I am in total agreement with you. But on my template I only have 60 med, to cut that to 40 would not be nice...60 med is not nice as it is, so I'll suffer threw it. I also think that alchemy cure pot chances against lethal poison is a tad low, 100 points into potion making/using and I fail 6-8 times to cure.. just seems wrong to me. But I love that they made poison strong, no resist chars are damn near nerfed now because of it. But to try to stay on topic here, I think throwing was amped up because there were not many people running it, and a lot of people were complaining about how much it was missing when it first came out. I can remember half the guild I was in at the time spent a couple days training throwing and then soulstoned it off and remade the characters because they were not hitting the way all other 120 skills hit. I don't know all I know is you will never ever see me playing a gargoyle.. terrible race in my opinion.

I think your right, with 120 parry I can run through some archers and get hit just a bit, but seems like with the throwers, im getting dinked all the time. Would be more interesting if a little risk VS reward was implimented on the issue. Id love to see that "If" you finnaly parry a thrower, he has to go pick his wpn off the ground at your feet. Seems to me i need to rethink my parry skill points. then again im usually asking for it lol. play on gamers, im digging the fights.

Good point & youre probably right. No one really used throwers until now like you said. It kinda reminds me of when archery was garbage until people did running 50+ damage AI's and such. It took soooo long before they capped the damage with that. Im hoping by posting now, maybe something can be done about it sooner. Trammies are coming out of the woodwork to "pvp" because they can throw a soul glaive.

My god! I retract my previous statement!

Tonight I was getting hit by an archer that had no hit lower defense what-so-ever and he almost never missed as well. Is there some trick that I dont know about? lol! :coco:

I'm pretty sure that gargs get an extra HCI boost and their max is 50 vs the normal 45. This probably is the issue. Also, because throwers don't have to be balanced, that frees up 140 inbuing points on the throwing weapons (vs bows) for things like HLD.

Assuming the gargoyle hitting the OP had HLD it's likely the comparison after the first couple hits was 50HCI v. 35DCI.

Yah I got rocked by noob throwers last night. I like that they are coming out to pvp but I don't like getting 5-6 mortals in a row that seem to never miss. I said they were noobs so they didn't have a box of course and died because of it. I really felt like anatomy/eval isn't working but 35dci vs 50hci makes sense. Mayb I can get that extra 10 dci on the suit, ill mess with it today see what I can do.
