Okay so with this account management thing, does that mean there's no way I can upgrade to SA until the 11th?

I was going to upgrade today. I'm on the phone right now with them but the guy I"m talking to says there's no way to apply the upgrade code to my account over the phone.

HELP!

I got my email yesterday. Like I said in the accounting thread, very ironic that EA is now converting our UO accounting stuff to Origin.com.

There are some decent games in that Origin sale as well.

The use of the name "Origin" has an obvious significance for us that I'm very surprised no one else has pointed out.

It could, I suppose, be mere coincidence.

Well if I literally am the only one who knows what I'm talking about....If UO players don't remember, then it's reasonable to assume that EA can't possibly remember (because we'd be way more likely than they to remember), so maybe it is mere coincidence after all.

Nope, my email just said they were converting my EA account to an Origin.com account.

The use of the name "Origin" has an obvious significance for us that I'm very surprised no one else has pointed out.

It could, I suppose, be mere coincidence.
I still haven't figured out why they chose Origin as the name of all of their digital and accounting services. I'd like to think it was some executive that came out of Origin and rose way up to the top of EA and this is his way of keeping the name alive, but I don't recognize any of the names at the top of EA as having come out of Origin. BioWare, yes - several higher ups that have Origin ties, but EA proper, no.

EA even had to buy the Origin.com domain name back after they let it lapse :wall:

It's amusing to look at the bottom of the Camelot website The Herald | Dark Age of Camelot and see Origin on one side, BioWare on the other, and EA in the middle.

Kind of weird that Mythic has completely disappeared from the Camelot website. BioWare isn't messing around with their branding.

okay, they really aren't messing around, there is now just a small Mythic logo on the bottom of the main BioWare page and it doesn't even link to anything anymore, not even the MythicEntertainment.com page.

I know..it was just my way of telling everyone that my shard rules ;)

But yeah not sure if many ppl remember Origin...if you call the customer service number, the first option you get is Origin.

Most likely they sent you one per email address, and your email provider's junk mail filters ATE them.

Oh lord, I just mistyped something and the error message mentioned that they are migrating SWTOR accounts over to Origin.com as well.

There are a lot of UO accounts when you factor in that every account ever created is probably in the system, but I can't even begin to fathom how many SWTOR accounts there are.

I bet the Origin.com people are getting overtime, because it's got to be one helluva stress test as everything migrates to Origin.com.

The e-mail I received (just one, although I have multiple accounts) on July 29th had an HTML document attached to it that didn't say much and certainly didn't mention the account migration period and unavailability of the account system.

It provided a link for more information here: Learn about Origin, Powered by EA..

This is horse ****... my accounts game time ran out today and there is no way to get more....

Like the one day out of the week that I can actually play UO for more than 10 minutes and I can't even get in the game.

If you would read the whole thread, you would see that NO ACCOUNT IS BEING TURNED OFF UNTIL THE MIGRATION IS COMPLETE.

Mine ran out and is still working... you pay via CC or gametime codes?

CC.. I canceled the billing last week so after it ran out I could switch it to my new bank card. Ran out today.

Ahh thats what happened.

"your account is held in its most recent state"

Your account's state at the time of migration was "Cancel pending". Had you not removed billing info, it would still be active, even with an expired card. Crappy luck man.

Reading your posts - you did not 'run out of game time', you actively chose to end the billing cycle, so sadly Cal's comments would not apply.

It's a shame you didn't get your new card details into the database in time to transfer to it, but with the account system off I'm not sure how they can get you back in-game quickly. All I can suggest is talk to Support, and hope you have better luck than I ever have dealing with them :(

Hm - I returned from a longer vacation, which did not allow me to come online and planned to reactivate an account, which holds an house and will hit the 90 days time frame for starting house decay within the next few hours or days.
So how can I do this now?

And none of my several accounts (active and inactive) on different email addresses did receive any notification about the planned change. The last message for that specific account in my mailbox was the one telling me, that the credit card for that account was no longer valid due to expiration.

Can someone PM me the number you use to get ahold of someone on the weekend ? I tried on Saturday twice, and today. Got "Our phones are currently closed. We are open from 7am to 9pm Central time 7 days a week":coco: (I am on EST and was well within the 14hr window)

I was using 1 866 543 5435.

And I just found the current (2006) payment info. Holding bank statement in my hand.

I don't know what the (001) is in front of the phone number, unless they mean that you have dial 1 before dialing an out-of-area number

I had been going to last option "any other game press 7", and getting "EA".
Got the same message about "were open but not really"

Hadn't occured to me to press 1 to speak to origin, since I thought UO was not Origin now for a while.... tried it now, got in a callling queue.

That 001 is a Country Code for those dialing from outside of the United States.

Just cracks me up what you get on the weekend when you go to #7 option "we are open now. but were closed" /facepalm

Not complaining about when they do answer though, very helpfull both times.

Good News - Found CD-key codes from the UO Gold and then the Mondains Legacy later on.
Bad News - Cant check them until the 11th I suppose, just got off phone 9AM est, and no way both (technically 3) codes all show nada/zilch/invalid in the system.

Thank babyraptorjesus, for not having a car at the time (2005-2006) -ish and using direct2drive. Cant believe D2D kept my account info that long, havent bought squat from there since.

How do I have to understand this statement from the FAQ:
"You must use your current login info (email address and password for each account)."

Our current login info is not the email address, but the account name.
TBH, I do not even have track, on which of the accounts which email address is used. Some accounts share the same email address, some taken over from friends in the past do not even have the email address altered (and I do not want to do so), so that this is still pointing to their email address, even if they are no longer playing the game.

Not yet. We've been told not to try to apply codes to accounts. They will tell us when we can do that.

They obviously were not well prepared to do what they said they would do in a timely manner. Poor planning on their part at our expense. It's been long enough, hurry up and complete this, correctly the first time already!! Is that too much to ask at this point? Everything should be back ON now and running, OMG!!:cursing:

So where do we go from here? Will account management remain in its new form for the foreseeable future, or is the next step going to be to migrate everything into an Origin account management website that merges all EA products together?

WEll since 5 of my 6 accounts were shut down today over billing.. and 3 of those 5 account were billed yesterday... I may be about to leave the game again. They told me yes they are ok..b ut will be down for at least 3 days.. WTF.

I know I've said this before... but the logon page has a window that would be the perfect place to display info on the account migration, and let folks know when it's safe to apply game codes, etc.

It is the one screen that EVERY subscriber sees every time they log on.

No need to try and visit multiple websites/forums and sort through the mess to see what information is current.

EA/UO, start using the logon page to keep us notified of important issues!

...PLEASE...

Ok, so... note number...

1: I have purchased every single expansion and booster pack to date.

2: I did not see the warning to not use the update codes until the account merge thing was complete.

3: I did already enter the code on both the https://accounts.eamythic.com website AND within the game via the paperdoll option. Those actions gave me both a chest of sending and a raised garden bed. HOWEVER . . . *please continue reading*

When I would try to type in the upgrade codes in my paperdoll option (REMEMBER I already did as well in my user account thingy too) I got the message that it ( it = both codes that I received via e-mail ) was not valid ( not valid because the auto-message claims the code was already used) ... strange, since I received the chest of sending and the raised garden bed with the same code.


4: When I tried to rent a vendor location from New Magincia I was faced with a message saying that I have to upgrade to the Rustic or Gothic theme pack. Ok... here is where you REALLY, REALLY, R E A L L Y need to PAY ATTENTION. I re-entered the code again today. I got a message saying that the code has already been used. I thought to myself "Oh, cool, maybe 'they' fixed it. " So, I ran to New Magincia and tried to rent a vendor stall. Nope... Got the same message: You must upgrade to the Gothic or Rustic theme pack to use this option. *Please keep reading*

5: So, now...after I have already done the "call EA phone telephone number" thing, AND the "contact online EA support" both of which have already told me that I need to contact a CSR (the option you get when you click on your paperdoll to beg and plea for a GM to come and listen to you) and wait hours (yes, I've literally waited hours at this point) to talk to one.


Ok.. so if your still with me. Basically I'm getting the run-around. I really, really am. Sucks because you'd think that a paying customer of over 5 years with multiple accounts wouldn't get tossed around and given the run-a-round.

I kind of in-vision myself talking to Uriah or Messana in real life, where I know that my forum rants aren't going overlooked or ignored... and I can in my mind ONLY see them saying something to the effect of "Oh my god, I'm so sorry... you seem to have slipped through the cracks, I'll help to make you first priority" .

So, now, in-between typing this post I have been on that wonderful GM wait list... to no avail... and I know that they will probably tell me "you need to contact EA, either via phone or by online chat" that is of course if I didn't get one of those lovely spam messages that we love so very much. And I'm sure if I don't get a spam message they will (again) probably give me the run around and tell me to contact EA via phone or online support.


Here is pictures of the messages I received. Strange, if the "codes were already activated" then why can't I place a vendor in New Magincia, OR use the new building options" ? Note: when using the Grand Bazaar theme pack expansion code, you are given two codes. Both of which I used (as I hopefully explained understandably enough in my post).
